.oOo. Private Thoughts .oOo. It has been an interesting time, lately. More interesting than usual, that is. Some would say that my training should always be of interest, or rather, that I should always be interested. The truth is that sometimes, after cleaning and carrying all day, I am so tired that it is hard to watch the shirabyoshi when they dance or practice and remember all the things I am meant to remember.
And sometimes I think that I am dreaming when I thought I was awake at first.
I made the mistake of being noticed by a noble the other day when I was serving sake. Not only did he speak to me--kindly and he did not have to at all, of course--but he called me Sachiko-san. And then, later, Shizuka did the same. I am still not convinced that I did not dream it. Even the scolding that I got for being late bringing the tray back to the kitchen could have been a dream. I have had those sorts of dreams before.
But never ones in which noble men spoke my name with respect. I fear that I liked it to much. I must remember that it was a dream and that it is not my place to be pleased by such things.
I must remember.
