i havnt seen the movie but ive always like heath ledger and it was sadly his last performance and he is a great actor + jack nicholson i dont think is a great actor

I agree with Xerak, but only because Jack Nicholson's Joker is aged and outdated. I went to see Dark Knight last night and Heath Ledger's performance was on the mark for a freaky villain.
Jack Nicholson is great at being...well...Jack Nicholson. rofl

ZOMG I was at the opening premiere and Ledger was awesome. The way he had a slight twitch in his hands or the habitual licking of the lips. Man he did a great job. I loved the laugh! There was one scene when he did the laugh perfectly! Not going to spoil it though.
I think they picked Nicholson because of the wide smile he has lol. He did a decent laugh, but as far as appearance goes, Nicholson was a bit short and well... Aged.
Ledger was just perfect. I mean really... How he stumbled around a bit lazily when he was getting up.
ninja SPOILER ninja I'm talking about the scene where Bruce Wayne was throwing a party for Harvey Dent. How Joker was fighting was perfect, no skill, just a wacky sort of crazy style. ninja SPOILER ninja
