 Alyna sighed softly. It had been a while since she had visited this part of the Soquili lands...and she came bearing news that she knew would be quite a shock. After all, she had left here with the intention of continuing her journey across the land...and she had done just that until she realized that she was pregnant. She knew immediately who the father was, after all, she had only been with one other Soquili...she wasn't a tramp, after all. Of course, she hadn't exactly known what was going on...her mother had never been very good at giving "the talk," and all Alyna had known was that she liked Israfel very much, and that she would let her emotions take her wherever they wished.
But those very emotions had taken her farther than she had thought possible...and she realized that what had happened between them had been more than a simple demonstration of love... Pity that realization happened too late. Her innocence shattered, Alyna was left to carry the consequences of her actions...and as her belly grew, she was filled with desperation, a burning desire to find Israfel, and tell him what had happened.
Which was why she was waddling slowly through these familiar trees, searching out the one who had once captured her heart...to let him know that he was a father.

Israfel yawned as he walked slowly and casually through the forest. He had been having a rather strange time since Aly had gone off traveling. He had met some one who knew his grandparents and then his grandparents had actually gone off and disappeared along with his annoying herd mate, Taylor, and her friend, Sadie. Dustin even seemed to be suddenly missing. Anymore it was just him, his father and his half-brother at the teepee. His nephew came and went as he pleased without saying a word to anyone. It all felt so empty at home now and he wasn't sure if he liked it.
His thoughts then shifted to Aly and what she was doing. It had been quite sometime since he had seen his "girlfriend" and he hoped she had not forgotten him. Thier relationship was so innocent and he still wasn't sure if it was really love or not. He supposed as things went along they would figure it all out. Nothing is ever obvious at the beginning of something.
He continued on as the thoughts floated through his mind.

What would she say to him once she found him? How do you tell your lover that he's the father of your foals? Alyna stifled a sob. What if he didn't believe her? She was emotional enough without that added complication. Her emotions had been up and down throughout the pregnancy...and as she hadn't realized she was pregnant until she felt the first flutterings in her womb, she was now close to the end of term, which made traveling the more stressful. She sighed yet again, pausing to once again survey her large belly, once again trying not to stare in disbelief.
Suddenly, she saw him.
Her heart skipped two beats. Oh, her beautiful, strong, handsome Israfel...she waddled up to him as fast as her legs could carry her. "Israfel!" she called, hoping with all her heart that he would still love her....even though she was pregnant.

The white stallion's ears perked up at the sound of a familiar voice calling to him. He turned in time to see Aly coming towards him. It looked like she was trying to hurry but was having difficulties. He wondered if she had been hurt during her travels and if that was the case, he was going to seek out the one who had hurt her and give them a world of trouble. Then her scent came to him and something was different. He wasn't sure what it was but it was something.
"Aly!" he called to her and began to trot towards her at his own pace.

As she reached him, she immediately buried her nose in his mane, nuzzling him happily. "I'm so glad I found you!" she exclaimed. "I've been looking everywhere..." She smiled at him through worried eyes, as she knew she would have to tell him soon...if he had not already guessed. After all, it was rather obvious. "Israfel...I have something to tell you. I told you that I wanted to finish my journey, right? Well, something happened...that made me turn around and come back..." Struggling for words, Alyna found herself unable to tell him that she was pregnant. Like saying it would make it seem more real to her...After all, she had been focused on finding Israfel, oftentimes forgetting that she was even pregnant, until a foal kicked her in the ribs. She had not really focused on her pregnancy...and now she couldn't get herself to even admit that she was expecting.

He nuzzled her back affectionately and noticed that her scent was very different now that she was so close to him. She seemed to be more plump than he remembered her and wondered how many apples she had been eating on her journey. He flashed her a smile and noticed the worry in her eyes. "Well you don't have to worry anymore because you have found me and I am here now. What is it that you want to tell me?" he asked casually, unaware of the news that was about to come.

Alyna stepped back a bit, looking up into his eyes. It would take everything she had to utter these words...everything would be real if she said it. But she had no choice. She had to tell him, he had a right to know!
"Dearheart...I'm...I'm pregnant..."
With those words, she smiled weakly and added, her voice soft. "And they're yours as well...You're a father, Israfel..." What more could she say? Everything else she wanted to say would sound feeble, and like she was making apologies for their time together, which she had never regretted, not even now. She merely awaited his response, fidgeting her hooves nervously.

Israfel froze at her first words and completely missed the part where she said they were his. His mind was racing a mile a minute. How could this happen? Who could have done such a thing to her? Whoever it was he was going to track him down and make him pay! He was furious that someone would do such a thing to his girlfriend.
"Who did this to you?" he fumed. "Once I found him I am going to rip him to shreds!" he exclaimed and flicked his tail in frustration and anger. He stepped back from her and began to pace.
She was pregnant...that would account for the difference in her sent and why she was more round then he had remembered.

Alyna frowned. "But Israfel! They're yours! I've been with no other...I swear it!" She couldn't understand why he would be so riled up about it...but of course he thought someone else had done it. Which was preposterous, really. Who else could have captured her heart on her travels? Well, she could think of one other, but she hadn't seen him since they were both foals. And she hadn't met any other stallions on the road...not since Israfel.

Israfel paused as her words finally sunk into his thick skull. He was the father? He wasn't all that sure what that ment nor what happened next. He just stared at her unsure of what to say or do next. Sure she had catured his heart but they weren't even mated yet and what would his father think? Or his mother and grandmother? What would her parent's think?! That was an even scarier thought than what his family would do. "Does anyone else know?" he asked causiously.

Alyna looked up at him, her eyes betraying her fear and worry. "No." she whispered. "I haven't told anyone else. Oh, Israfel, I'm so scared!" This time, she couldn't hold back the sobs. Leaning against him, she buried her nose in his mane and wept, tears rolling down her face, releasing all her pent up fears and emotions that she had borne all those lonely months.
Recovering, she attempted a weak smile and continued. "I haven't even told my mother...not that I've seen her anyways. I didn't make it back home...as soon as I realized what was happening, I turned right back around." Suddenly terrified, she looked up at him, a different sort of fear in her eyes. "What will your parents think?"

Truth be told, he was scared as well. He had no clue what to do next with the whole situation and he wasn't ready to even think about his family's reaction yet. "Don't worry, we'll figure this all out. Don't be scared. I am here with you, okay?" he said trying to comfort her the best that he could.
"I am not sure what my parents will think but we will deal with them in due time. it's probably a good idea if you see your mother soon. She will be able to help you and give you advice." he suggested even if he didn't know her mother well. She had to know something right?

"Okay..." She said with a sniff, snuggling up to her lover's side. She felt a hundred percent better now that Israfel was with her. Still terrified, still uncertain of the future, she now felt like she could face it instead of run away from it.
"But, Israfel...my mother is miles and miles away. I won't be able to get to her in time. Besides...I know enough about this to maybe handle it on my own. I'll have to." She smiled at him, a worried sort of smile. "You know, we'll have to tell your parents soon...I've only got a few weeks left before the foals arrive, I think." Just the thought of foals sent excited shivers down her spine. She still couldn't believe that she would be a mother. For one who was so young and innocent, the thought of motherhood seemed like something far off in the future. Now, with it staring Alyna in the face, she found herself growing up faster than she would have thought possible.

Israfel rested his head on top of hers and listened to her sniffling. He felt horrible for bringing this upon her. She didn't need such a heavy burden on her shoulders and it was all his fault. "You won't have to handle it all completely on your own. I will try to do the best that I can. OKay?" he said softly trying to reassure her and himself.
"As for my parents...it might be a little easier to tell them once the foals arrive. There really isn't anything that they could say if they saw that we are trying to handle this responisbly, you know?" he finished. He wasn't sure exaclty how his mother and father would react to this sudden turn of events. He knew they wouldn't be too terribly upset but maybe it would soften things if they could show them they were doing thier best to take care of it.

Alyna nuzzled him, offering him a small smile. "Okay." She said simply, glad that she wouldn't be alone through all of this. "I just can't believe...that we're going to be parents. I wasn't exactly expecting this. Not at all."
"That sounds like a plan." She said, suddenly nervous about meeting Israfel's parents. "I don't think they'll exactly approve, though, but you're right. They'll be more prone to accept it if they know that we're trying our best to prove ourselves capable of parenting." Alyna smiled nervously. She didn't know if his parents would like her...they could view her as one big mistake on his part. But she didn't get much time to dwell on her fears. Just then, the foals decided to have a tussling match in her belly, and she winced as they squirmed. "Oof...hey! Quiet down in there." She said with a laugh, poking at her belly with her nose.
