i went to the doctor yesterday and found out that i've started pre-labour. i'm suppossed to have 10 weeks left until my due date but my doctor doesn't think i'll make it to 40 weeks. i am having a boy!!!!! yay biggrin
how long generally does it take for pre-labour to happen in a first pregnancy?

Well, congrats on the boy!

As for how long, it really varies. It can be a few hours to a few weeks. It all varies by each woman.

Prelabor at 10 weeks? Are you sure? IF they really thought you were in labor they'd have tried to stop it being right now your baby would be automatically in the NICU and more than likely very low birthweight. Are you sure it wasn't just braxton hicks? Practice contractions?

None the less...congrats on your baby boy!

I was in prelabor for 2 weeks. So, I'm not really sure on this one. sweatdrop

eww that can happen again? man... i don't want to go overdue again, that was terrible!

well congrats, boys are the best (babies). xd

i have no experience in that realm... i don't really consider that i had labor. contractions for me were never more than the intensity of menstrual cramps.. hope all goes well!

I wouldn't worry about the pre labor too much I started having contractions at 5 months. I had my son 2 weeks early but that was by request. Did your doctor put you on bed rest or is he just saying take it easy?

Congrats!!

As for the question of pre-labor? I cannot really comment as both of my pregnancies were OVERDUE gonk , but I will agree with luna's comment on it.
