Kahili sighed as she headed through the empty fields and scuffed her hooves, kicking up a bit of dust. Now she knew what her father went through everyday before she'd come along and it was booooring. There was stuff out there to see! People to meet! She just had to go find everything that was out there. But even with the excitement of going on a big journey it was still pretty lonely out here. Maybe her dad would go with her! Nah, he was too boring for that. Surely there was someone that would go with her though.
With another sigh she took a small break to graze a bit and enjoy the sunshine. As she chewed she decided to plan out all the places she wanted to visit and all the things she wanted to see in her lifetime.

Well, that was a slight bust. Lucky's last exploration turned out to be simply. Nothing. All the stories he had heard about that forest were just that. Stories. Probably stuff the older Soquili cooked up to keep foals from wandering into them. Bah. Rubbish.
Sometimes he missed those days as a foal. Where disappointment didn't rear its ugly head all the time as it did now as he was older. It was hard to believe much of what anyone said anymore. Still tales. He needed some die hard facts before he went off on a blind goose chase!
He gave a flick of his long, two toned tail as he broke through the tree line and into the fields. Picking up his legs and lowering his chin to his chest in a slight canter before breaking off into a full run. The feather behind his ear flailing wildly with his mane. The stallion ran up and down small hills. Back and forth across the field. Running always helped his slightly disappointed mood. Just a bit.
All in all, adventuring did have its quiet, lonely time. He missed having others around like he did as a colt. The various voices chattering away as they all went off exploring places that their parents warned them not to. Those were the days. But now, the others had grown and they'd all gone their separate ways. Lucky though kept on with the adventures. They were really all he had in the world. And sometimes it was depressing even to think of his life that way. But he never showed it on the outside, no. The young stallion always tried to keep a chipper disposition.
Kahili gave up on eating and just settled for a brisk trot around the area as she watched the large clouds roll along the blue sky. So many shapes in those puffy things, like rabbits and sometimes she saw other horse shapes in the clouds but she couldn't find much today. Not in the mood. As her head lowered back down to Earth a streaking black figure seemed to be charging right at her. Blinking, she figured he'd move but instead she squeaked and jumped out of his path as he zoomed by. "Hey! Watch where you're goin' pal!" With a snort she glared at the stallion and swished her tail back and forth, fully annoyed with him now. Stallions, she thought. As if that was the only explanation she needed for behavior like that.
