Raguel stood confidently on the beaches edge, and his fur tingled as the water continued hitting his legs every so often. He had left Angel that morning to head for the beach's edge since he had promised to meet his son there for some quality time together. He had arrived earlier then his son though, and the action was done purposely. Raguel wanted some time to meditate and think about his current happiness and life, since not everything was what it was in the past. His children were all healthy and grown, and Angel was speaking about trying for an even larger family in the future. Raguel was confident in his mate's decision, but knew he needed to be there constantly for his current children.
He had heard that Iofiel and Reaper had been spending time together, but surprisingly Raguel was happy for such a thing. Reaper needed to acknowledge his new siblings, and Iofiel needed to gain some confidence in herself. He knew the two of them could work together to overcome their dilemmas. His other daughter was busy helping children and families, and she was so similar to Angel that it made him smile. But for now, he wanted to be with his son who looked so much like him. His son needed to be strong for the family, and Raguel knew that Raziel could do such a thing. Raguel would show him everything he needed, and make sure everything was alright for his son as well.
There were always memories and pains that plagued at Raguel's mind, but at the moment things were looking so positive. The sun was lazily idling over the water's reflection, and Raguel decided to close his eyes to enjoy the true essence of the scenery until his son arrived.

It had been so long ago since independence came. It had been so long since a few lives had signaled the start of a new time. It had been so long, at least, to Raziel, who found on occasion a deep yearning to be united with his family once more; to roam around passively as a foal, yet aggressively learning how to be a guardian with his father. The things he had learned and experienced from birth were such distant memories, and he had longed to dwell in the past for quite some time. But he knew that the present and future were just as important.
It was a pleasant coincidence that he found his father the other day, requesting time together. Though he was curious about his mother as well, their current lives, and both his older and younger sister, he knew that time would come for that conversation, as the other day was just not the time.
He strolled through the beach's edge placidly, letting the cleansing waves run through his hooves to pull back into the ocean, and repeat. It was a lazy day, yet prominent. Raziel had always looked up to his father as someone he'd... well, one day fill the position of. He had no doubts that it was his duty, for the son of his parents before him had forsaken himself long ago, in his eyes. Raziel was the one who needed to protect his mother and family whenever something menacing was afoot.
Soon, he spotted other tracks imprinted on the sand, and they were not too vague. On instinct, Raziel's head tilted upwards, spotting a dark figure not too far off on a higher plane. It was his father, he knew it in his heart, despite the distance and faint silhouette.
His gait quickened slowly in a mixture of excitement and apprehension as Raziel drew nearer his father, while his eyes held a furrowed, concentrated look. As he closed in on Raguel, he held a soft smile on his expression as he realized his father was meditating to the scene, though he knew his presence was known already, for his father was not blind to his senses and well-learned.

When his son came into view, Raguel felt a melting sensation in his heart. Raziel was the next borned son after Reaper. He represented so many unspoken words of hope. He was the next man of the generation.
"It is great to see you, son." he then said, and he nodded when Raziel was finally in front of him. He had grown to full size, and he stood equally in Raguel's height. "How have you're travels been? I pray you haven't been too busy? Or on the other hand, I hope you've devoted some play-time for yourself as well." He chuckled then, feeling a familiar fatherly moment draping around his heart.
"Ariel is busy tending to children all over. It is quite adorable really, she's become quite the storyteller." He couldn't have imagined a more perfect fate for his daughter. "And Iofiel disappeared not long after you, and I was surprised to hear she decided to train with you're older brother. But after completing her training she returned home to help you're mother, and I was surprised at her ambition to continue getting stronger. She's transformed into a fighting machine! You and her should train together sometime." It was another path that was perfect for his other daughter, and all and all his children were doing quite well!
He then quieted himself and found some relief in looking at his son again. "So as you can see, things have been busy, but the business has kept you're mother very happy. You know how much she loves family. She is doing very well, and told me to send you her complete love and wishes." Unfortunately she was just as busy catching up with all of the older children herself, but she and Raguel tried their best to constantly keep the communication in the family going.
"But now, I want to hear all about you. Fill me in on whatever has been keeping you happy! I am beyond interested to hear." He chuckled then and shook his mane out.

A smile came to Raziel, upon hearing his father's first words to him, and he nodded quietly, though he silently returned the affection. He was now as big as his father, though it seemed like he still had a bit of ways to go to fully fulfill Raguel's hooves. It was rare to see Raziel smiling on such an occasion, or in any occasion, but this was a treasured moment.
Before he answered his father's inquisition, Raziel listened to the whereabouts of his other siblings, and grunted bemusedly at Ariel's tale, but felt himself freezing when he heard of Iofiel. So, was she one to walk the same path as Reaper..? He could not help but let his prior smile turn into a frown, even when his father spoke of his mother doing well. Though he did not mean to pry into the businesses of others, this was... his family, and he thought he would try his best to preserve their purity, despite the punishment on his father that had inflicted their blood. Apparently, he had been gone for too long, and distant. He shamed himself for this, and began to think about what to reply to Raguel.
"It fills me with comfort that my older sister Ariel is becoming like mother, father. I remember many of the stories she used to tell us. Perhaps there should be more faith that we will all aspire to be as great as you and mother one day... As for Iofiel, father..." he felt a loss of words, his heart sinking with each realization he had of the information his father gave him, "Iofiel... with Reaper? I am concerned, father. How could she let herself learn something from him? He... could taint her."
Raziel struggled for words. He felt like he needed to protect his younger sister, but was too late, for Reaper must have already created a bond somehow with her. Reaper was his opposition.
"I am surprised Reaper did not send Iofiel to harm mother, though I know our wills hold strong. I am simply worried, father... What if Reaper had wished for Iofiel to become like him?" He grunted, frustrated. A fighting machine? Was that all Iofiel had wanted to become? He thought he dared not approach Iofiel, for what if Reaper had taught her tricks that were only used by consorts of evil?
"I... I however, am glad to know that mother is doing well. It seems like so long ago when we were together every day. And when we all got older, I suppose you and mother needed some time alone, and we needed time to learn by ourselves as well. I wish to spend some time with you and her, though, to see you and mother again for a while. I am glad I've run into you, father. But... Iofiel has frightened me by what you just told me, as you can tell."

Raguel sighed lightly at his son's distress but a smile still remained on his face. He could imagine why Raziel was feeling this way. Reaper was a complicated figure, one who many did not understand. But he was changed now, and he was a new stallion full of possibilities. Iofiel had embraced those possibilities and was learning just as much about herself. For some reason she and Reaper carried a connection even Raguel wouldn't know.
"Please, don't ever worry about Reaper and his actions. You brother would never harm either of you, or anyone else for that matter. He is like me, he'd only attack if our family was in danger." He was slowly returning to the way he'd always used to be. A fine fighter, and a fine son. He was atoning for his sins in his own way, and making strides to become a better individual in the world.
"He's changed since having you and your siblings appear. He wants to be the best brother he can to all of you." Just as Raziel was to his sisters. "And, what Iofiel seeks is strength, not any kind of mental change. Reaper is remarkable with his fighting skills, and he tops even my own lessons. And please," Raguel then chuckled lightly, "You should know your sister's stubbornness. She'd never change for one individual!" Iofiel had her own way of doing things, but then again, so did Ariel and Raziel.
He hoped he could mend his son's struggles. He didn't want their to be any harsh feelings or complicated ones. He wanted his son to be as happy as he could be, just as he and Angel were. "Your mother would be so proud to see you, especially all grown up like this." Raziel was such a unique mix of him and Angel, and Raguel could only gleam at his son's appearance.
On the topic of he and Angel, Raguel could only shrug his shoulders playfully. "Your mother and I didn't need time alone. We just figured you three did. You need to make your own memories and experiences, just like your mother and I did with you three." And, on that note, he wondered; what had his son been up to? So far he knew of his daughters and Reaper, but what about Raziel? "Do you have any fun memories from your travels, son? I'm sure a stallion like yourself has seen so much of the world already!"

"You can't turn away from the past," Raziel murmured, brow furrowed still with his concern. It was impossible for Raziel to wash away his brother's sins; what kind of atonement would make up for the many deaths and horrors that occurred in one's life? What can wash away the curse that still lingers over the family, all because of Reaper? Nothing cured the curse; that is why the family remained this way, and even new generations did not cleanse the physicality of the curse.
"Change... Change happens, but can we all be sure of it," he pondered. "What brought on the change, father? What could possibly set a demon's heart to turn in the opposite direction?" He felt no shame in speaking ill of Reaper, though the only shame he could feel as in that he was talking badly about his father's offspring. But he felt that it was clear and necessary -- sometimes love blinded the harsh reality.
