Night had fallen some time ago, the stars peaking through the ebony clouds as they drifted across the night sky. The forests which the mare roamed lay in darkness, only the occasional beams of moonlight danced through the canopy of leaves above to splash onto the moist terra. droplets of the past rain still lay fresh on her spine. The skull mask she wore on her face casting her eyes into shadow; yet it was easy to see she was looking to the ground as she trudged along by the angle of her head.

How could this have happened to her? Her parents had been mortified when as she grew into what should have been a lovely young mare; hideous black sores began to stain her face. Before she knew it the sores broke and became semi-open wounds...Minuet was devistated. She'd learned of her mother's curse; what the gods had done to her and much like she explained that her grandpa had passed down to his daughter with a curse to eternally bleed....Minuet seemed to pick up on her mother's curse. It was only fortunate for the mare that her parents had come across a Unikalona's corpse; and after dissecting the skull from its body and cracking two additional holes into the bone; it was to become her shield....a mask to hide such a hideous secret to the world. Oh! How elegant she used to look with her unique tri-unicorn horns framing such a pretty white face. No more...now she would remain the ugly shadow of her beautiful sisters...there were times where she'd give anything to be normal like them.

Thus she took to the woods tonight; fighting the demons in her mind and heart as her spiked tail lashed idolly behind her frame. So far the mare had no need to be afraid of the dark; other than the skinwalkers her father had warned her of....usually she was the scariest thing out in the eve. Or at least thats what the bullies of her childhood had constantly pained her with.

Temptation was also in the woods, though his dark body hid perfectly amongst the shadowed trees. He loved when it was dark enough that nothing could be seen, and not even his chain could glisten against the brightest of moons. It didn't take him long to notice a white flash amongst the black, and his overly-bright eyes started moving against the shadows. His eyes were the only part of him that gave away that he was there, and a crooked smile of fangs only proved that he was enjoying that he was not alone. Finally, some company. He hoped such a thing would grace him for the evening. He stumbled quickly against the mushy ground, and soon he was trailing right next the the white flash. After a few moments he could pin point that she was a mare, and he could also see her spaded tail trailing behind her. How.. interesting. What was she, exactly? "Why don't you slow down so I can see a little more of you." he then said, while finally admitting that he was there.

It might have been strange to call her out like that, but Temptation didn't care. He did things his own way, and he was rather proud of that. He ended up stopping himself, though, and he wondered if the mare would also obey his words. He decided to add, "I will not harm you, despite my looks. Though, that depends on whether you behave of course." A laugh then left his snout, and he stared ahead expectantly, and waited for an answer from the mysterious mare.

If Minuet had been anything like a cat; she would have poofed up into a ball of fluff at the sudden intrusion of her personal bubble. Jumping back with a bit of a yip; the mare snapped her head to the intruder's direction as her clubbed tail arched skywards in defence. W-when had he gotten so close! One moment she'd been lost in her own thoughts and the next her spine tingled as the large, nearly invisible body amongst the night was mere inches from her frame. It was quite unnerving to say the least; not to mention now that she'd gotten an actual look at the stallion admist the pale speckles of moonlight....he was none other than a Kalona.

Softly her white chest rose and fell, her heart still pounding with remnants of her suprise. She knew well from experience that not all monsterous creatures of the night were as such; herself being an example from the pureblood regulars she'd run across. Once he spoke she was able to hear the smoothness of his deep voice, even if what he was asking was albiet a strange request. There was no doubt in her mind that if she decided to flee that he would follow with ease thanks to his wings...and he did mention he wouldn't harm her...

What more did she have to lose anyways?

So the mare stood, her ruby locks settling around her slender white neck as she peered curiously into his alit golden orbs. How....odd! "As...you wish." She admitted; voice less shakey than even she expected it to be. She'd never come across other 'monsters' if you could put it as such...and ultimately was conflicted to what should be done.

"You....confuse me. You look more devilish than any I have seen so far...yet you do not wish to harm? Are you....like I....possibly lacking something from our brethren?" Folding her ears back against her skull; she wondered how he would take to such an upfront question. Minuet wasn't the best at formalities anyways with an upbringing like hers.

Temptation grinned as the new pet obeyed him, and he flicked his choppy hair out of his luminous eyes. "I lack in nothing." he then said, with a somewhat stern tone. As if, couldn't she clearly tell that was true? "Though maybe I am a devil in disguise, who knows." His eyes were able to finally see the bright mare before him, and he flinched a bit when he noticed the skull over her face. It looked painful for her, and he wondered if it was like his chains. There were also horns that were much different then his round ones, and spikes that laid on her tail... and she was, most definitely, a unique sight.

"Now, I think its fair for me to say that you confuse me. What exactly are you? You have many traits, and they are all very interesting." He continued to eye her uniqueness, before realizing this was a potential mare in front of him. All mares had potential, and he wondered if he should put on a usual show for himself. The mare had already obeyed him so easily, would she obey if he asked her to do worse things? He shook his legs eagerly while deciding, and allowed his heavy chain to rattle with its own energy.

His twin brother was always a terrible influence on him, and Damnation had much worse ideas for the mares they found. Temptation liked to try and create his own games though, and it was something that set him as different compared to his brother. Damnation liked to plot, though he used violence just like their father did. Temptation preferred his mother's ways, and hoped to perfect them as he grew.

Wincing slightly under her mask; there was very few times that she was thankful for the hideous accessory...but this time was one of them. Often able to hide her expressions easily as she only had to worry about her lips and eyes (when visible of course) giving things away. She figured with someone like the stallion before her having taken an intrest in her that any sort of ace she held was one she held hidden near her heart. Vanity...it wasn't hard to get that feeling after such a statement; but she'd heard that Kalona were proud of their heritage so perhaps than she shouldn't be suprised?

"Ah - well...I suppose too anything is possible here. I was merely referring to the fact that there are so many stories of soquili like us being monsters...but I have yet to see any myself. I was merely implying if it was they, or maybe we are the less likely breed? You know...the attack and kill on site ones...?" Peering back up at the brute before her, she was a bit curious if he had even the slightest of clues what she was talking about - or maybe his parents need not warn him of the monsters of the night?

Instantly after though, her gaze waivered as she found herself staring at her hooves, tail flicking behind her frame. His curiosity too wasn't a surprise either...although at least he had a bit of mannors to politely ask about it rather than start off calling her a freak or something along those lines. She should be thankful....or maybe not.

"Yes....I knew that was coming. I suppose im a misfit of sorts..." Tossing her head to the side to rid her view of stray red locks, Minuet continued on. "My mother is a fallen Angeni and Unicorn mix, meanwhile my father is a mutant of sorts...its where I got my three horns and this tail from....but i've been told my grandfather was a mutated fallen angeni....so; I guess im all of the above with no real classification anywhere."

There, at least he knew now. Her gut turned a tad painfully in nervousness; never before had she been around such an intimidating creature even if he'd done nothing to harm or scare her. She supposed this was the 'growing up' part of life where she no longer had the security of her sisters or protective eye of her father. She was a grown mare and she'd damn well better start acting like it!...tomorrow - maybe. Right now she was more determined to get through this meeting unscathed; in sheer optimisic views maybe even make an aquaintance! ....or so she could only hope.

Yet admist the chaos in her mind, her brows raised as she tilted her head quizzically; allowing the moonlight to reflect off her sapphire irises. Was he wearing...chains? They looked awfully painful, being wrapped and carried by his legs and tail...almost like how the teeth of her mask rubbed against her cheek and forehead pinched at her horns. "Are....those chains? Why on earth do you have those?"

"Well I'm not denying I am a monster. A monster can be many things." he snorted lightly and grinned sheepishly in preparation for his next statement. "There is nothing about me that is less. You can say what you want about yourself, but never speak on a strangers behalf." Once satisfied with his response, he flicked his bangs and stared intently at the rare mare. Goodness, what made her think that she could compare herself to him? That was a clear no no in any social situation, most especially in front of someone new.

"I wouldn't say you are a misfit, that's rather degrading don't you think?" Was she one of those low-confidence mares? The kinds who liked hearing praise when they could since they couldn't find it in themselves? Temptation could surely spice things up then, and show her a proper time in the darkened night. Low confidence was always a fun category. The thought was appealing, but dammit, he still didn't know anything about the mare in front of him. He would need to figure out what exactly she was talking about, since she was rather chatty for someone so nervous. "So your family is quite.. different. I understand that sort of thing, mine is the same. No matter."

Ah well, he had to kindly share that he had a similar situation in hopes that the mare would lighten up a bit. He was rather composed in front of her, showing no fangs or glares her way. He was only watching her, and wondering what the heck was going on in that mind of hers. It was probably a mess.. was he really that scary? He rather preferred charming? Scary could come later, if necessary.

His chains seemed to confuse everyone, but he was used to it at this point. He had to admit, other's responses made him a tad grumpy, but he dealt with it in his own way. "As you can see, these ARE chains. And I have them because my father gave them to me." or rather, forced them on him. But he wore them with a pride only a son could have. Or, he liked to 'tell' himself that.

"What happens to be your name?"

Oh god, oh god, oh god! What a train wreak this was turning out to be! Minuet could feel the intense heat rise in her face from sheer embarassment of this current meeting; if she was the stallion she might even have complicated attacking her by now! Yet by all means she was greatful he didn't...last thing she needed was to hobble home wounded if she got home at all. Social graces were too damn hard, yet she couldn't believe she'd forgotten about assumptions. Too much of her mother was most definately coming out at the moment.

"..!!! I'm sorry! Im...really not good at these things..." Minuet wasn't per-say low confidence...she definately had some streaks like anyone coming into a brand new world of adulthood...more of the problem was her overactive mind kept her thoughts constantly clashing and none seemed to come out the victor! Finding the same pros and cons of good and bad situations was as bad as curse as the one she hid behind her mask "Not really...misfit can mean lots of things too. I think I am simply in the 'other' category...and yeah...you can say we're all misfits" She didn't think it got any more true than that...how many people can say they have sister-aunts and a grandfather-uncle-stepdad? She had yet to meet any of her extended family...but the stories were crazy from what her mother told her! No need to go into too much detail about them though.

"Oh...well that isn't so strange than - if it was from your father. I guess you could say my mask is from my mother...she has one too and so does another member of my family." Given hers was actually needed while the stallion's seemed more...excessive. No matter; he seemed to be fine with them...althought it still looked frustrating to walk...

It went to show that the mare was quite ill-prepared for life outside her little close knit family, even Minuet could feel her naive'ness being a bit of a problem. If she's run across a skinwalker instead of this stallion....boy she'd be in trouble. "Minuet...My name is Minuet. Its, well....nice to meet you sir." Finally! A chance for a little redemption for her ill manners before! Shuffling her feet; she was a tad bit curious to what he was doing this eve before running into her...she was merely pondering and going to find a drink.

As he predicted, the mare continued to become stranger by the second. He wanted to pity her, but yet he hated pitying anything. He chose to never pity, but rather accept what was in front of him. And at the moment, he had found something rare indeed. He supposed he should have fun, since most mares were rather dull compared to this one.

"Call me Temptation." he finally said, after allowing a brief silence to come between them. He just loved saying his name, and he said it with such a confidence that no explanation was ever needed to follow up. His nostrils flared slightly before speaking more, and his wings flicked silently at the feeling of a breeze on his back. "Is it nice to meet me? You look as though you might fall over whether it be from fear or nervousness."

After emitting a small chuckle, he returned his focus to the mare's other words. "Did your mother choose you as the one to carry on her mask? My father chose me out of my brother, since I have too much of my mother in me." And maybe Minuet's mother felt the same way about her mask legacy? "Parentals are actually much sneakier then we all think, so who knows what their true intentions are." Well, especially in his family since pride was everything. If both parents were prominent in each child, the parents too precautions to fix their children.

"But anyway, if you are so unique and such in your looks, shouldn't that mean you carry yourself with more confidence?" The stallion flicked his mane then, and eyed her with bright orbs. "I just find it surprising that you standing here almost afraid of your shadow. What is holding you back, anyways?" Plus, he may have been reading her wrong, and he needed to admit that, too. "I am no expert on life, but I can't help but observe what I can about others. I like figuring others out, everyone is a puzzle."

...And Temptation was just an added piece to the puzzle, and he loved that! How he contributed to the puzzle depended on the individual, and that contribution always came with time....
