No not the guy Slash, the pairing type slash. *L* I'm going to go out on a limb and hope I don't offend anyone here with this rant but it had to be done.

I am sick of these nitwit little fangirls who are so ridiculously into slash that they insist on doing it to EVERYTHING they're into. I actually have at least two friends on LJ who do that but I can deal with them because they don't shove it down my throat.

Now this may lead you to believe I'm homophobic or some nonsense, but this is not true. I am a hardcore D/Leon (Petshop of Horrors) fan, and for some bizarre reason I love Duo/Wufei (Gundam Wing) though I admit that there is no basis for the pairing whatsoever. That's the only "nonsense" pairing that I'm a fan of. In general I need some sort of hint to put two characters together.

But I swear these girls go into everything looking for a pair of guys to slash. Why? What's the point? It's to the point where every time a new movie/anime/something popular comes out I try to anticipate what slash I'm going to see next. Did you know there's Bible slash? BIBLE SLASH! Honestly, what the hell??? What did Jesus do to you?! I don't even believe in God and I know that's just wrong!

Okay... [/rant]

Linkin Park, anybody?
My (now ex-)girlfriend's twin sister WROTE and READ slash fanfics about the band members being gay and having all sorts of descriptive a**l sex.
What is wrong with people in this world? gonk

Linkin Park?! WHAT the hell???

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I ran across KoRn slash. eek Apparently they took the song "f*****t" a little too literally.

And Red vs Blue slash, I've found that too. If you've ever seen RvB you'll probably be as "wtf?" as I am. It's a funny little thing, why do they have to add sex to it?

Oh and you know about all the Wonka/Charlie slash right? It's EVERYWHERE. If you find a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory fic based on the new movie, it will more than likely be slash.

I actually am a fan of slash- but I prefer it to have a basis in the plot of the characters, or at least make sense. But I can't stand it when people take real people and change their personality like that. sweatdrop

...Okay, flog me now. xd

I think that the pairings should stay true to the original plot.
Meaning no Charlie/Wonka, no Donatello/Leonardo, no Harry/Malfoy ...
Bleh.

I like slash, but I'm not going to shove it down people's throats, or even mention that I read slash. I mean, really. Do I really want my friends to think I'm even more of a freak than I already am? No thanks. gonk
And the 'nonsense' pairings are just ridiculous. The basis of those story lines is usually, "I hate this guy, so I'm going to butt rape him." Which is just ridiculous, in my opinion.
And wait...BIBLE slash? That's just ******** up. What, do they make Jesus rape people or something? D:

BIBLE SLASH!!!! ARRG! What has gotten into people these days? They slash every little Clucking' thing! Seriously! Malfoy and Potter hate each other, Legolas and Gimli are friends, so stop it! A little slash is sometimes funny, but some people just go too far.

I hate slash in general because I despise anything that makes characters do things they wouldn't normally do. Draco, Harry, Neville, and Snape having an orgy in the dungeons, for instance, is something the characters would never do. For some reason some people see merit in stories like that, but in my opinion, if you want to make characters do over-the-top things such as have orgies, incest relationships, etc, you should invent your own damn characters so you're not sullying someone else's pride and joy.

I will admit that I have read one fanfic in which a slash pairing was done well. Well, can girl/girl be considered slash? I'm not up on all the terminology. Anyway, back to my point, this story was written excellently. The grammar and spelling were fabulous and the person had a wonderful vocabulary, but it wasn't just the language alone that made it good. There was character development. It was a story of Ginny and Hermione slowly coming to realise they had feelings for each other. Hermione still acted and sounded like Hermione. Ginny still acted and sounded like Ginny. When it came out that they were both interested in each other (after a long, painful process of self-discovery on both their accounts), they didn't just immediately start making out or hop into bed with each other. It was process after process for them, first coming to terms with their feelings, then coming to terms with their feelings for each other, and then coming to terms with what their shared feelings would entail. I unfortunately lost the link for it.

Bible slash? gonk WWJD probably had some pretty ******** scary connotations in those stories.

I think it's called fem slash, but I'm not sure.

I believe slash is just any pairing that isn't normal, or true to the people/characters.
I think?
Gah.
Someone look it up. confused

I'm pretty sure slash came from the / between names, so it can be anything. Like chair/aardvark, if you really wanted it. xd
