Konya finally had an idea of what to do. It wasn't the smartest idea, and she would be the first to admit it. But she knew that it would be more of a blessing instead of anything negative. She just...had to find someone to help her.

Thus why she wandered away from home. She was still within the vast jungle, but further away than she had ever been before. It was a little nerve-wreaking, since there were animals and plants she didn't quite recognize. Why was this? She'd find out soon enough that there was a large lake nearby, which probably contributed to the slight variance of animals and plants.

Her green eyes caught movement. Oh? Determined, moreso than she had ever been before, she followed after this movement, curious as to what it may be.

Yue, taking a break from watching over his hoard of kids, had left home for a little mini vacation. He felt like he deserved it, ever since things had home got a little mixed up. His sister had seemingly disappeared. He hoped that perhaps she and Hari were up in the mountain together, doing something devious. The pair were more than he could handle, and it had certainly changed his attitude about a lot of things while growing up.

He couldn't wait for his little harem of kids to grow up, so they could leave him alone and go on with their lives. All of them were annoying to him, even more so because the two women in his life had just dumped their part on him. Being a single parent to like, nine cubs was impossible. At least they had that new nanny to help out. Hah, sucker.

His ears perked up when he heard something. Was someone following him? Blast, if it was that little run Xundao he was going to beat that kid a new one. He knew better than to leave the home lands, especially at his tiny age!

"Why you! Go back home, y'hear?" He snarled out, turning around to yell at the presumbed cub.

Startled by the sudden outburst of the one she was following, Konya couldn't help but cry out at him, hoping that she wouldn't all of a sudden get attacked by the male lion she was following.

"N-no! O-okay, I'll go. I just...I was just curious!" She studdered out her words, stumbling back a bit to make sure that there was enough space between the two of them. She was frightened, even though he didn't look like he was actually going to attack. The sudden movement had scared her more than anything.

It was humerous seeing the flower around his neck that was almost lost in that white mane of his. How often did males wear flowers? Never....

She brought herself back tot he present, looking up at him with a touch of fear in her eyes. He seemed to be taking such a long time in making his decision. Hopefully this wouldn't be her last day alive, she never even got to say goodbye to her mother this morning.

Yue couldn't believe it. Where did this female come from? He stared at her for a moment, trying to decide just what to do with this situation. ANd why did they always have to be females?!

Wanting to smack his paw into his face, the gold lion loosened up his muscles, still silent. What was she doing out here anyway, following whatever stranger came along? Didn't anyone teach her anything? She didn't seem much younger than him, maybe just a season. Was there really such a difference in rearing cubs in that one small season? Or was her mother just an idiot?

"Why do you go following whomever you see? You'll get yourself killed that way. And if not that, led off of a cliff or something." The lion snorted, his white mane shaking around his head. "I don't know what you want, but whatever it is I can't help you."

Hey! This lion was sorta rude now, wasn't he? What crawled up in his mane and started ripping it out? Very upset now, though she was trying quite hard to still act polite, Konya gathered herself back up, a little more determination in her eyes.

"I don't just follow anyone. I was merely curious, you just happened to nearly attack me." He snorted, flicking her tail behind her, looking up at him defiantly. "I just wandered away from home for the day, and everything seems quite new. You seemed interesting, so I followed. There's nothing wrong with that now, is there?"

Hmph! No male had ever treated her this way (not that she really had any contact with males anyway), so him acting like he was sooo much better than her was just infuriating! She may be just a small pride girl, but that didn't mean that she deserved this kind of treatment.

"There is certainly something wrong with that." He couldn't believe this lioness. Did her brain not work right? Or was she really that naive? If so, he hoped that her guardian would come pick her up soon, because she certainly shouldn't be out anywhere on her own, let alone in the wild part of the jungle.

"What if I was dangerous?" he asked, slinking up to her with a slight growl. "I could do so many things to you and no one would even be able to find you." The idea never actually crossed his mind, but the threat was still there. Just not with him. He was just trying to teach her something that she should have known as a cub. He knew that he was going to have to drill it into his kid's heads once he got back home that strangers are not good.

He glared up at her until he was looking at her eye to eye, obviously keeping up a gruff expression. She seemed stunned, and for that Yue was proud of himself. Looks like he got the job done!

She was stunned yet again. She...hadn't really thought about that. Would someone really try to attack her for just being curious about them, and wanting to talk? She never thought that the outside world could be that scary, and it did make her worry for her sisters that had seemed to disappear. Hopefully they would be all right, but as far as she knew, they were probably a lot smarter than her too. Konya was never too bright, and so perhaps her mother had named her the right thing. Dumb as a rock.

Stubborn, Konya looked right back up at him, pressing her nose against his. "Well, I'm tougher than you might think!" She was determined to not lose this little argument, even if she was acting a bit irrational. Konya felt like she wasn't in the wrong, just a little bit foolish. That didn't mean that she had to be talked down to like a cub! She was an adult, just like he was! And she wanted to be talked to like one as well. Especially since she only really ever spoke to her mother, and she was always down talked to. Her mother couldn't help that.

"I know what I'm doing," she added on, a little snort at the end.

Yue couldn't quite believe what he was hearing, either. This little lioness thought that she was tough? And that she already knew everything that he was trying to explain? Plus she had pressed her face up against his? What audacity!

The gold lioness pulled back, blinking at her for a few long moments. He had to let everything sink in. Once it had, he couldn't quite help himself. He burst out laughing at this lioness, one that was just as stubborn as the other two he knew quite well. Only...she wasn't as cunning as them, just a little bit stupid with a big heart.

"Ahh, I'm sorry. I guess I've never met anyone that stuck up for themselves, even if they were being stupid." He really did mean it. Who would follow a stranger like she had? Hopefully she wouldn't again, if just by pure embarassment.

"I shouldget your name, so I'll always remember this." Too funny!

Hmph! Konya pouted now, her chin sticking out just a bit as she watched the gold lion laughing at her. He was certainly rude, wasn't he? The laughter made her change her mind a bit. Perhaps he wasn't too mean at all, he just had a hard way of expressing himself. Plus, you would only laugh if something was genuinely funny, and she assumed that he was just laughing at the whole situation. She let the word 'stupid' roll out of her mind, instead of bringing it up again. Maybe this was how you loosened the stiffness of meeting someone new for the first time.

She pulled her head back, a bit embarassed since the warmth from his face left hers once he pulled away. Why had she done that?

"I'm Konya," she said polietly. "I live just a bit that way," she gestured. "I'm just wandering a bit, as I said earlier."

He supressed the urge to say 'fitting name' to her. Dense as a rock indeed, but perhaps that would be just a bit too mean. He had embarassed her enough, and she even took it quite well. Stood up to him even. It took a bit of courage for that, especially since he wasn't the nicest lion around anymore. He sort of had to be to help keep the pride in check, as well as make sure that everyone was doing what they should be doing.

"Yue," he replied. "I wouldn't say pleasure, but it's been entertaining. I'm merely walking around myself, since I needed a break from my own home. How about you follow me and you can entertain me some more with that wit of yours." The lack of wit, anyway.

He peered over to where she said she lived. In a pride near here, then. That was interesting, but good. Then once he had his fill of his little vacation, he wouldn't have to show her home like some helpless female, and they could go on their merry little way. Sometimes life seemed more simple outside of the pride. He knew he'd get clobbered if anything happened and Sen showed back up again. That was enough to make him mentally wince. Get rid of those thoughts before she figured them out!

Konya's ear flicked curiously. He was inviting her after making such a big deal about wanting to be by himself? She remember what he had first said, thinking it was someone else! Well, if she was just oh so entertaining, then fine! She'd be entertaining. Only for a little while, though. She did have to go home at some point, and she didn't want to worry her mother too much. Konya was sure her mother might not like what she was doing, even if her mother lived like this for most of her life. Konya always thought that she was going to disappoint her mother, when in all actuality there was little doubt that she would upset Latifu.

"Fine. Only as long as you don't only laugh at me, just with me." She stuck her little nose in the air, mocking him for a mintue before laughing. At least this would make this one day go by a little faster, and she'd finally be able to say that she made a friend outside of home.

"Just make sure you're nice to me, Yue. We girls don't always like to be made fun of!"

-----

Of course, she'd find out pieces about the other two women in Yue's life, his supposed mate and sister. She kept most of her own private stuff to herself, craftfully keeping the attention on him. Who didn't like to talk about themselves?

It'd be past nightfall until she returned home, and even then her mother didn't mind. Konya thought it was strange, but most of her mother's opinions were strange to her. Pride life sure had kept Konya sheltered, especially here in this pride.
