This is a debate by many. Are witches born or made?
Although, my family goes to church, they also practice and believe in the old ways that have been past down from generation to generation. I was taught these traditions as well as the power of words. Since I have the gift that runs in the family, I was taught how to use it in the correct way. Many outsiders considered our family strange because of our beliefs and abilities.
I think one can come from a family that has special gifts but that there is quite a bit of learning to hurn ones skills. That person would also need to learn the craft. There are rules and rituals to learn that increases ones gift.
