Things were, all in all, starting to return to the 'norm'. The hunts had resumed and daily duties had picked up here and there amongst those remaining. The only difference seemed to be the time that he and Rasi now spent patrolling the borders in search of those who were still unaccounted for in hopes of being the ones to welcome them home.

It was on one of these rounds along the borders of their territory that he found himself pausing, taking a moment to enjoy the light breeze that had finally decided to come move the warm, still air. He tilted his head to let it move through his mane, bringing a bit of coolness to his heated body. He had left the lake behind some time ago... At least his round would bring him back that way again, or past another watering spot of some sort.

Kisirani was back to her old haunting ways, leaving the area that she had lurked for a while. It was fun while it lasted, but there were times where she just wanted to have a little fun without the drama. Was that so much to ask for? Sighing, the lioness paused for a moment. She probably deserved what she had gotten. Who was foolish enough to go after someone so young as that boy? But it had been fun while it lasted, and Kisirani never let anything go without some sort of experience. She had learned her lesson, and decided to file it away in her mind if the situation ever presented itself again.

That was when her blue eyes discovered something that she had thought she had forgotten. Him. Home. Everything. It was an odd feeling, and her stomache churned for a moment. Had she managed to find herself back home, after this much time, and as well as after all those events?

Her paws suddenly felt heavy, and she had no will to carry on. She didn't know if she could stay here, but she didn't think she'd be able to leave, either.

Sighing he pushed himself back up, ready to continue his journey now that the air had fallen mostly still once more. "On we go..." He murmured, believing himself to be alone until he caught a scent that was not one that had been anywhere recently. Re-learning everyone and everything as they put the pieces back together he paused, lip curling slightly as he tried to decipher if that which was near was friend or foe... Or if the scent was old or new.

"If you are there... Come where I can see you."

Pissed at herself for balking long enough to be found out, the dark red lioness lowered her head as she slinked out of her mild hiding spot. She let her sky blue eyes do the first talking, obviously not looking thrilled at being found out. There was a bit of confusion, as perhaps she had misjudged who the male was. Upon closer inspection it was obvious as to who he was.

"It's been a while." Her tail curled behind her for a moment before uncurling and thwapping at the ground. She had loosened up a bit since she had left, and upon returning she knew that she'd have to straighten up a bit. But just a slight bit. She let loose a grin, keeping her body just a bit lower than normal. She knew who she was talking to, and she wasn't enough of an idiot to act any better than him.

"That it has been... For many more than just yourself." He nodded once slowly before letting his own tense posture relax, if only slightly. He had learned during the attacks that not all 'friends' were on their side... That some had fought against them just as their foes had. It was always best to keep one's guard, especially when far from where others were, king or not.

"It seems as if Fortune has been kind to you." He spoke simply, truthfully. It was good to see another returned to them whole and, to his eyes, she did not seem to have taken much wear... With that grin it almost seemed as if she had been enjoying herself, as if she had just returned from a hunt.

"I will admit that I never thought I would find my way home again," she said with a cool tone. In fact, she didn't really have the itch to find home. It seems that she just happened to stumble back on it again.

The lands held mixed emotions for her. Life out there had been much easier, more enjoyable. But there were the risks involved as well. It was risky being one lone lioness out in the world with no protection. Even if one seemed kind to you, that didn't mean that they wouldn't turn on you later. So the thought of actually returning home seemed sweet. She just wanted to make sure that it would be acceptible, seeing as how she had never actively seeked out returning.

She wanted to ask, but being prideful, it was hard for her to ask right out like she was. But if she wanted to get her answers quickly, she knew that she was just going to have to ask. Perhaps in a round-about way, though. "Fortune...seems like such a fickle thing. If it has returned here, though....it would be good news to hear."

"Fortune is indeed fickle." He nodded once more, easily agreeing to that before pausing to look up to the lioness. "Whether or not Fortune has returned to these lands is for each of us to decide. One may see a blessing, another a curse. Some still wonder why Fortune frowned upon us. I? I have given up on wondering... What has happened has happened, be it for good or for bad. From here we can only become more than what we once were; striving to right whatever wrongs we have made."

He had not intended to make a speech, of course. The words had just fallen so easily from his mouth, leaving him to linger for a moment in silence before continuing on. "For one reason or another Fortune has guided you here once more... It is up to us to decide what we do with that which She gives us."

Kisirani blinked at the sppech that Shujaa had given her on the turn of the lands. In all truths, it didn't help her at all. She had to wonder just how they were doing though, if he didn't outwardly say that they were doing well. Did that mean that there was very little of them left?

It made Kisi's stomache turn. And she wasn't one to feel ill over anything that didn't benefit to herself. It must be because this was her original homeland. Whatever the cause was, it created a bit of turmoil within her heart.

"Fascinating hearing," she said mildly, not noticing the style of speech she had fallen into. Wanting to slip into any class and terrain level, she had picked up many different styles of speech from the years of roaming, and she rarely had the chance to notice it before it happened. "Fortune did bring me here, whether I wanted to or not. And now that I am here, I believe there's little that could force me to turn away."

"Then you are welcome here. I am certain that Mwindaji, Thaialynx and the other Zengea will appreciate the return of one of their sisters. The hunt has been hard with so few, but they have done well." He turned at that time, resuming the course that he had been following back towards the heart of the pride's lands, expecting her to follow along.

"Mwindaji has just returned herself... One by one our brothers and sisters are returning, as Fortune guides them."

Ears swiveling forward for a moment, Kisirani trotted after Shujaa to keep up with him. It seemed like to correct thing to do, though she did keep her pace a step or two behind his.

He had confirmed what she assumed, that there were still very few of them. Even with her rejoining her old home, it sounded like their numbers were sparce. She secretly longed for the hope that there were males, as she always had her fun with them. Shujaa didn't mention them, though, only her fellow Zengea. She would find out soon enough why he did this, but for now she would keep her hopes up and her trust within her King.

"Thank you," she said calmly with a mix of anxiety. A new step in her life, one where she might have to shed a bit of her fun to keep her part of the pride and her home going. Growing up was difficult, but actually having to take responsibility like this was going to be the larger task on her shoulders.
