Have you ever seen those threads in the chatterbox that talk about God? Someone (most likely a mule) posts facts about christianity and writes about God and how much he loves us, but when I scroll down and look at the second post, it's usually a post about telling the christian to "shut up" or "no one cares." I don't think the flamers even bother to read the first post. Whenever they see someone talking about christianity, they automatically respond with something negative. So my question is why do people hate christians?
I think one of the reasons is because christians disapprove with homosexuality. In my other guild, The LSG (The Literate Spam Guild), a majority of the members don't mind homosexuality. They believe that love is love and you can't do anything about it. I, myself, find it hard to stand up for my beliefs sometimes when I don't want to make enemies in LSG. I really don't know what to say to people when they talk about homosexuality. But according to what some of the people in the guild say (I'm not exactly sure though), they say that they don't like christians because they judge people that are gay too easily. They think that most christians don't accept people that are gay just because they are gay, not because of their personality. I'm not exactly sure if it's true or not, but I don't think we should judge people just by their orientation. Aren't christians supposed to be gentle and understanding rather than judging and unaccepting?

Okay, well I'm not sure if what I wrote is completely true or not.

Yeah, some times you gotta wait a while for a reply to something on the guilds.

I have no clue why people hate christians, I can form theories about it, but I don't know for certain. One of my throies is that they are just mean people in general. Another one is that they have had bad representations of christians in their life, and they assume because one was like that, that they are all that way. Third one so far is that they don't like any religion because of their past. Last one I can think of for now is that that is what they have been taught, to hate christians, by their parents, teachers, friends or something, and because those few people told them that they just do it, and don't give it a chance.

Yup... I just came out of a forum about the topic. ( I still have sparks and burns from all the flames thrown at me... ) I got shot down like a bird against a forest of hunters... Jesus sometimes didn't go places because he knew it was dangerous. I can't find the exact Verse's, but i know it's there. So i say "Don't go to those places on this site at all." You know they won't listen, they never do. You can tell them, but don't expect anything good.

Jesus said that the 'World' will hate you because we belive in him. This is just another prophecy fulfilled.

Look, i spread the word about Homosexuality and stuff, but nearly noting comes back that is good unless they are christians themselfs.

If you really think about it, God doesn't hate Homosexuals, he hates the ACTS and THOUGHTS of Homosexuality. I hope you know this.

I find no hate in homosexuals, but i do not like the homoesuality in them.

Sometimes they disapprove because they know that we are right and they are wrong. That and they want to do everything their way.

On this point I kinda side with the non-christians. I think we are hypricitcal, myself included. We don't do what we say to do. We are the only way they will know what being a christian is all about. We should show them the true meaning of christian.

yes exactly! I dont really think I am all that hypritical anymore. I used to be very badly but I am getting better by the day with the help of God. We need to show them what christians are really like if not then we will just be a stereotype.

Well, Im not exactly sure why people sometimes hate Christianity.
I dont hate homosexuals.
I accept them, partly because I dont know who is one and whoes not, and partly because I know they are people.

People often make assumptions about Christians like "You say homosexuality is a sin, so you must hate gays!" Thats were that whole arguement actually came from.
Incorrect assumptions often lead to misunderstandings and hatred.

In reference to why some people don't like or accept Christianity:
"We are truely afraid of what we don't understand." - John [Joseph, actually] Merrick. The 'Elephant Man.'

I agree with you sushi, Many people do more flaming than gaining. They hate us, and quite frankly, sometimes we do judge too quickly. I have homosexual friends, that doens't make me a sinner. Yes it makes them a sinner, but God loves them just the same, and we should love them too. We're supposed to be very kind loving people, and sometimes we spend more time saying "HEY YOU'RE A SINNER! REPENT OR DIE!!!" than we do saying. "God loves you, and i love you too." Am i right? I notice that every sunday in my church alone. sure their sinners, but we are too. I made an announcement with a thread link to chatter box. EVERY guild leader of a christian guild got a message and the link, and there are over 1500 christians in these guilds total. If we pull ourselves together and be loving like we should and post in this thread, maybe we can finally outsmart the people who judge us so quickly. Could i ask you to copy and paste that first post of yours to that thread? maybe we'll get some answers. AND THANKS you're very right. All of you. Its time to change our ways and be christlike how we're supposed to. LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF< and always respect people.

They refuse to accept the truth, so they can justify what they're doing; whether it be abortion, homosexuality, fornication, whatever, they don't want to be held responsible for it.

They do know deep down that God is there, though; in Romans 1, it states that everyone knows God exists, well, basically.

But many people doubt the existance of God, or they hate God.
