Sweet nommed idly on some clover. Not very good clover, it was new clover, so it was quite bitter. But it was all he had so he had to make due. It was that or dandilions and that was just disgusting. He sighed as he nipped at a petal. He hated new clover. And over his delevopment and the realization that this was all he had to eat for lunch he promptly began to sulk.

Pocket Lint wandered away from the safety of her newer hiding spot, which had been found for her by Ranulf. It was nice and cozy, but it still didn't feel the same as her old hiding spot. Her thoughts idly went to the two boys that had become her closest friends, other than her own brother. She always wondered why she was friends with them more than any other. Could she not relate with other girls? The usdia mare just wandered through the clearing without any thought to where she was headed or going. She didn't even realize Sweet was coming up in front of her, and if she didn't snap out of her thoughts, she would soon find herself crashing into her childhood friend.

Sweet looked up and found himself nose to nose with Pocket Lint. He pracned in place, clover falling from his mouth. He knew she was skiddish, so he didn't dare exclaim her name like he so wanted to. Instead he whinied lightly and tossed his mane. "Hey, Pocket, what's up," he said in a casual, yet childishly excited voice.

Pocket Lint walked close enough to have her nose touching Sweet's nose. Her confused dull gray blue eyes looked up to see someone staring back at her. The mare immediately tensed up, lowering her head after making contact with Sweet's nose. The male didn't seem familiar, yet something was familiar about him. She wasn't aware that he had grown up. She didn't immediately answer, still looking at him, as if trying to figure out who it was. She couldn't put a hoof down on who it was.

"Hey Pocket it's me, Sweetpea!" He pranced back a little and tossed the lock of his mane out of his eyes. "You probably don't remember me. I was smaller when we last met." He smiled brightly and sighed. "You haven;t changed a bit. Still a beautiful as ever, my lady." He put one leg out and bowed deeply.

Pocket Lint was quiet for a moment, studying the features of the stallion usdia in front of her. After hearing his name, a smile broke out on her face as she moved closer to nuzzle the male. "I-I remember n-now." She said softly, not expecting him to look as he did. The mare felt a weird flutter in her heart that was foreign to her, being so near him. Her eyes widened at the comment before blushing slightly. Her gaze faultered a bit, shifting from Sweet to the ground at her hooves. "T-thank you." She muttered under her breath.

Sweet nuzzled his bestie back and stepped a few paces back. "It's so good to see you again, my lovlie! Wow." He beamed again, suddenly speechless. "I'm glad to hear you remember me," he said softly, slightly flattered. "What have you been up to?"

Pocket Lint smiled and nodded her head. "I'm h-happy that I g-get to see S-sweet again." She said with a small smile. Her tail twitched behind her. The mare looked at him and tilted her head in a confused manner. "Of c-course I w-would. Sweet is v-very close to me." She nodded, not sure how close in what way. But, he had a very close spot in her heart, like Ranulf, their mommy, her mommy, her daddy, and her brother. The mare thought about it. "I've b-been t-trying to make m-more friends." She nodded. "W-what about Sweet?"

Sweet blushed slightly at the comment about them being close. He smiled and said, "I'm glad to see you're coming out of your shell." His ears laid back slightly in concentration of the last question. What had he been doing? What had he been doing. He shurgged and said aloofly, "a little of this, a little of that, you know." He smiled and kicked a clump of dirst slightly. "Mostly trying to get mom off my back about finding a mate, you know how she is. Hopeless romantic, wants everyone to fall deeply in love."

Pocket Lint looked to him curiously, seeing his face turn a different color. She moved a bit closer to look at it curiously, wondering what caused that color. She looked up to him. "M-my shell?" She asked in a confused tone, continuing to observe her childhood friend. For a moment, she tried to register his answer then cutely shook her head. "I d-don't." She said simply, twitching her tail. The usdia mare paused. "Oh? D-does S-sweet have anyone in mind?" She asked, still unsure what the whole "mating" business is.

He didn't really want to know. He didn't want to know Pocket admired another. He fought the urge to put his ears back at the thought.

Pocket Lint blinked. "W-well, what k-kind of g-girl does S-sweet like?" She asked softly, wondering why he was acting so oddly. Her ears twitched on her head and tilted her head a bit. The mare could only shake her head. "I d-don't think I d-do." She said, really not knowing what a "strapping stallion" was or what love looks like.

Sweet sighed and sat himself down to think. "I don't know. The only mares I know are you, mom, and Flower. I don't know what I like." He perked up when Pocket said she didn't have anyone in mind. "I'm sure we'll find someone," he said with a smile.

Pocket Lint nodded her head. "Oh.. Okay." She said. "I-I guess y-you need to m-meet more m-mares." She said softly with a small smile. The mare moved closer to nuzzle him. She blinked and tilted her head. "M-maybe." She said. The mare wasn't really in a rush to find someone. She was happy with having friends.

Sweet smiled softly at the nuzzle. He gently returned the show of affection and said, "I hope I do. Both meet other mares and find someone." He didn't mention he hoped it would be her. But he did blush at the thought of starting a family with her.
