It was an average, hot, summers day as Aki laid bored on the trunk of her favorite tree. The tree sheltered her from the summer sun but it didn't provide her entertainment. Sighing, Aki swished her tail back and fourth beneath her resting place. Staring down at her tail she noticed the colors of her stripes reminded her of something... Or someone. But what? Or who? Aki sighed again. "I've been away from my kind to long." She said aloud to no one. "I'm losing it."

Aku finds himself out wandering again enjoying the sun. The quiet was just starting to get to him so he veered off of the path he'd made to kick up some twigs and plants for a little noise. "Could it get any more quiet around here??"

Still sitting on her big tree limb, Aki listened to the sounds of the forest around her. No birds, no noisy bugs, no breeze. Maybe she had lost her hearing? She sighed yet again and dismissed the thought of being deaf when she heard how depressed her sigh sounded. Hmm. Maybe a song would cheer her up? Yes, songs always helped and no one was around to hear her so why not? With that thought, Aki began singing tunelessly to the silent forest.

After crunching a few leaves under his paws down a new path, Aku's ears perk a little bit. Hey now, that voice sounded a bit familiar didn't it? He starts off in that direction, picking up speed to kick up some more leaves in his wake. "Hey, is someone out here??"

Aki's ears twitched at what she thought was the voice of another modifox. She stopped her singing to listen. Someone else? Could it really be? Out here? Her ears twitched again at the sound of leaves crunching. "Strange. The sound seems to be getting closer. Almost as if someone was coming in my direction. " She whipsered to herself still listening. "Nah, I've just been alone to long. I'm hearing things..." After a loud sigh, Aki began singing again, but a bit louder this time so that she could block out the imaginary sounds she was hearing.

Aku continues on his way, crunching leaves beneath his paws. When he hears the singing picking up again louder, he speeds his pace just a bit. Were his ears playing tricks on him, or was that voice somehow familiar? "Hello?"

The noise was getting closer. Hmm. Maybe it wasn't her imagination. The voice... Male... Sounded very familiar. Who did it belong to though? Who would be wondering out here in the middle of no where? Strange... "Heeelllooooo" Aki sang out loudly to the familiar voice that she couldn't place.
