With a nuzzle to her father's cheek and a final promise to be safe, Kelashia pranced off. The necklace around her throat bounced as she moved, glittering a glossy indigo against her dusky black hide. She sang softly as she moved, a song she had learned from her father and grandmother. She loved the music of her family.
"I know that you're hiding things, using gentle words to shelter me... Your words were like a dream..." She switched to what used to be Tessa's favorite song -before Halo, apparently- the music pouring out of her soal, her pendant glowing brighter with the song.

Maybe it was the ghostly side of him, or the heritage of either grandfathers, but Requiem was easily pulled off to search for unearthly calls, mystical beacons, magic, to put it bluntly. It was like a wind, making him float off, like a white apparition with rainbow hued reflexes that never seemed to stay still. Delicate, fairy like translucent wings spread from his back, as if peeling off from his markings, and carried him to the sources, like a moth to a light. Today, however, it didn't seem so, as the young one rested on a rock, his figure faint, yet glowing with a soft, golden shine. No one had came upon him yet though, some awed, others scared, and even others who just smiled and decided to leave the lightly sleeping kit in peace.

Kelasia perked at the sight of the faintly glowing figure, ears flipping forward with interest. It wasn't often she saw glowing lions -well, outside her family, she never saw any at all, in the family, that's all there were- so she was instantly intrigued. The interest built as she drew closer, the wings drawing her as nothing else could.
"Ohh..." She sighed softly, slinking closer. Not wanting to wake him, but at the same time, wanting to talk to him. "Like me..."
Her voice was soft. He was like her! Maybe they could be friends?

Fortunately to her, Requiem was a light sleeper and had a really soft awakening, unlike his rough and mean brother, Dabih. He stirred a little and slowly yawned contently, having been soaking in the sun for a good while now. It surprised the ghostling pleasantly to find that it'd actually been someone to awake him, his odd eyes meeting Kelasia with delight. "Oh, hello..." His voice was gentle, almost effeminate. Girly, as his brother like to try and mock him. Requiem didn't mind though, he actually found it quite soothing...

She sat, watching him, a faint smile curling across her face as her ears perked and she leaned forward. He was waking up! His gentle greeting pleased her, and she tilted her head, liking the softness of his voice.
"Hello." She returned. "I'm Kelasia... Who are you?"
He was interesting.

"I'm Requiem..." he said, smilling. "Hello Kelasia, it's nice to meet you." Requiem's attention was quickly drawn down to her pendant, cooing lowly to himself as he reached out to paw at it slowly, intrigued. "You have a glowy pendant!"

Hmmm... He didn't sound like anyone she had ever heard of before... Maybe she'd made a new friend today! Or at least, maybe she would.
"Requiem... Nice to meet you..." She returned, farily puffing with pride when he batted at her pendant. "Its a gift from the Fayth."
Her voice was proud, her smile wide.

"Ooooh..." He cooed lowly, amazed that such an object existed. He knew lions could glow, he did in fact, but objects? It was a surprise. "The Fayth? Who's the Fayth?" And there was a word he'd never heard of before as well. A day of surprises, and it felt like it had just started.

"They are the powers that protect Spira... And Spira is the land my Grandmother and Grandfather -Whistle and Ballad- used to guard before they came here... They were made by the Fayth... And then they had my father and his siblings... And he and my mother had me... And my siblings and I are all Fayth-touched, though not as strongly as my parents and grandparents... We all have strange abilities... Gifts..."
She trailed off, not wanting to sound like she was bragging, only explain. "It is... Not always easy... But.. It is who we are..."

"The powers... like gods or ghosts? Woooow!" Requiem tilted his head lightly, a lively smile playing on his lips. He surely hadn't met anyone like that! He'd heard talk about his grandfather from the passing spirits, but that was it. Small talk. "What's your gift?"

"Yeah, I guess so." She murmured, smiling as he seemed to grasp the Fayth idea faster than the others she'd tried to talk to about it. Heck, he'd gotten it faster than she had when daddy had explained!
She sort of sighed at the question. Her gifts -at least, what she had right now- weren't as impressive as one would hope. "I really just sing... And find things.. Daddy calls me Treasure, or Treasure Seeker.."

"You can sing? I wish I could sing, I hear the birds and it's so pretty! Sometimes, it feels like they're putting their hearts on it. I heard a lot of those on Spring. And you can find treasures! You must've seen a lot of things out there!" Always the optimist, finding the good in things was the way of Requiem.

"My whole family sings." She smiled. "Like a big flock of birds... If birds had voices like angels... I kinda think that's what it'd sound like... My Aunt -Songstress- she's the best..."
She sighed, laying down with a smile. "She's so good.. She called an Angel to her.. He's her mate now... It's wonderfully romantic."
She grinned. "There are really shiny stones under the roots of that acacia...."
She nodded to a tree not far from them. "I can almost hear them... Do you want to go see?"

"Awww, she found love! That's really great! Maybe you'll call someone to you some day too." Requiem nodded softly, smiling. His eyes seemed to almost sparkle with curiosity when she spoke of the buried stones. That was really amazing! "Yes!" he replied, getting up almost with a jump.

"Some day, but not until I'm grown up." She nodded sagely. "For now I'd really like to make friends and just have fun..."
She jumped up with a grin, trotting toward the tree with a wave of her tailfeathers. Her pendant flared softly as she drew closer to the stones, calling a responding flash of light. She crouched and pawed at the roots, clearing one of the stones of dirt. "Hmm... Very nice. Look!"
