Me10:55:25
The silver haired male slowly paced his way toward the HQ, his blue eyes set straight ahead. His sword only lightly dragged against the ground. If he wanted to he could tighten his belt so it didn't drag, but he quite enjoyed the sound it made against the ground. Granted, it wasn't the best thing for his sheath, but a little dirt never hurt. With the moon hung high in the sky, his hair seemed to glow softly in the light. They looked more like little metallic fibers rather than hair.

Mau11:02:02
As the sun had set, Seiji had sought his usual refuge within the branches of the tall trees at the edge of the HQ's garden. He had busied himself with caring for his sword until well after darkness had settled in, and only when it gleamed perfectly did he allow himself to sleep. The tree was not the most comfortable bed, but it was better than sleeping on the ground.. where anyone could sneak up upon you.

Me11:05:24
Sigurd was in search of some company tonight. It was getting rather dull in the house again. Not much to do when the house was so peaceful aside from the occasional disagreement here and there. His eyes searched everywhere within the HQ, but to his dismay not anyone of particular interest was there. Or at least not anyone with a face he wanted to greet right now. So he made his way toward the forest. If he recalled correctly his mom mentioned something about kitsus dwelling in the forest.

Mau11:16:07
While he may have been asleep, Seiji's ears were still on the alert for any strangers who might approach. The approach of someone dragged a sword sheath reached those ears quickly, bringing him out of his sleep. Silently he crept out further on the branch and glanced about the area for the source of the strange noise.

Me11:23:57
Even though it was a peaceful place, Sigurd was taught to always be on alert. What his ears couldn't hear, his eyes could see. The lighting was dim, yes, but shadows could still be made out. Its shape was too awkward and furry to be a tree, and much too large to be just some little forest creature. He wouldn't draw his sword just yet, wouldn't want to make a bad impression if it were a good guy.

Mau11:30:03
Seiji's eyes narrowed as he watched the figure below. Despite the darkness, he thought he could see some similarities between the male below and the strange female he had conversed with not long ago in the same spot. "Who goes?"

Me11:31:55
Sitting down his tails curled around his body. He did so in order to not seem intimidating or threatening. This male was never one to start a fight. "My name is Sigurd," he said loud and clear enough for the other to hear. A rather cautious one, but if he could see the other more closely and clearly he would instantly understand.

Mau11:33:46
He gave a small nod - more to himself than anything. His guess at the kitsu's identity had been correct. "You are the son of Lenneth?"

Me11:34:57
He blinked at the mention of his relation. "Yes, I am. May I ask as to who you are and how you know of my relation to her?" Any assumptions he made could only be confirmed by the other male. Mother mentioned many names, many faces. There wasn't a single one he could just out of the blue pinpoint so easily.

Mau11:38:33
Seiji grinned slightly, then made his way to the ground. Once down, however, he made no motions of moving toawrds the other male. "I met your mother by chance several months ago.. then again last week. She speaks highly of you."

Me11:40:31
Sigurd sat there silently in thought for a few minutes. Ah, so this was the recent topic of discussion from his mother. This was the strange warrior she met and spoke of. He should've figured. "You must be Seiji, then? Mother also speaks of you rather highly. She speaks of you often as of late."

Mau11:41:32
"I am Seiji. She seems to meet many people, though.." He dipped his head slightly as he spoke.

Me11:43:22
"That much is true." Even though his mother never seemed the talkative type, once she opens up she speaks quite a bit. Though she only spoke to those she trusted. "What brings you out here so late at night?"

Mau11:43:56
"I am always here late at night. The tree is a better bed than the ground."

Me11:45:32
"Really? I always thought the ground was better. A smoother surface to sleep on. Plus if you roll over you would not have to fear falling off. Even on a bed a feet or two only hurts for a couple of minutes." He was as odd as his mother told him. Sleeping on trees didn't sound comfortable at all.

Mau11:48:05
"Yes, but on the ground you do not have the advantage of sight."

Me11:49:05
He nodded in agreement, "What you cannot see you can hear. That is what my mother always taught me. While your senses lack in one department there will always be another one to make up for it."

Mau11:50:25
"I agree, that your other senses will fill in. However, it is my preference to stay up high."

Me11:52:44
"It is your preference to stay up high while it is mine to stay low," he grinned. Sigurd was agile, yes, but he wasn't much one for heights. Climbing was rather difficult, even if he could. His mother could just fly up to a tree branch if she wanted, but he would have to do everything manually, by paws. "Would you mind if I came closer to get a better look? I feel it inappropriate and rude for me to stay so far away from you."

Mau11:54:22
"You are welcome to come as close as you wish." Seiji shifted his paws slightly, before padding closer to Sigurd.

Me11:56:10
Getting up off the ground, he padded closer to the other warrior. Beneath the moonlight he could see his features more clearly now. Though they weren't as vivid as they would be in natural sunlight, it was satisfying enough for Sigurd. He dipped his chin a little to form a bow, "A pleasure to meet you, Seiji." Now he fully understood the other's preference for high places.

Mau11:59:14
He blinked, surrprised, then returned the gesture. Honestly, he had not expected such politeness in this world. It was nice to encounter another like himself. "The pleasure is mine."

Me12:01:27
His mother taught him well. She was probably the best teacher one could ever have. Not for one moment did she hesitate or give false information to him simply because he was her son. She was as strict as they came. He was certainly the little gentleman she wanted him to be. A smile appeared on his maw as the other returned the gesture, "I could not help but see you have a sword as well. You must care for it well."

Mau12:03:03
"Yes. My sword is my life, so it must be kept in the best condition." Seiji nodded solemnly as one paw touched the sheath of his beloved sword.

Me12:04:49
He could see why Mother was so interested in him. A lot of the same views. Though neither Mother nor Son would go so far as to say their swords were their lives. Swords were replaceable, lives were not. "My sword is my beloved treasure as well, though I would not go as far as to say it is my life. My life is my life, my sword just happens to be a part of it," he nodded.

Mau12:07:03
"My sword has saved my life on more than one occasion." He fixed a solemn gaze on Sigurd. "You have been dragging your sword along the ground."

Me12:10:42
He had yet to be presented with a situation of life and death. But even so he was not very much of a fighter. If the situation called for him to fight, he could do so very well, but he would rather it not escalate that far if it could be prevented. "It rests safe within its sheath. The grounds here are soft, only dirt gets on the sheath. Every night it presents me with the opportunity to carefully clean and inspect both my sword and sheath with dirt on it. I am able to see where there are holes or what have you more easily."

Mau12:12:09
"That is good. Take care of your sword." Then, realizing what Sigurd had said, he blinked. "The nighttime does?"

Me12:13:21
"Yes, I clean it at night before I go to bed. Unless you meant something else?" He tilted his head lightly to the side, unsure of the meaning behind the other's words.

Mau12:18:43
"You clean it at night? .. I clean mine during the sunset."

Me12:21:04
He nodded. "The day is usually spent doing chores and training. As you know cleaning takes a while and is rather taxing on the mind. It helps me go to sleep at night. Mother cleans hers during the day as well, but I prefer to clean it by the night light, occasionally star or moon gazing for a short break. Just as some read before bed, I clean my sword before bed."

Mau12:31:40
"Hmm.. that is very strange. I prefer the daylight as well. It seems to work for you, however."

Me12:32:42
He chuckled lightly at their strange development. "We are quite the opposites, it seems. You prefer the daylight and heights where as I prefer the ground and the dark." Truly, they were two of a kind.

Mau12:34:07
"Yes, it is very strange. But at the same time, we share things in common." With this, Seiji nodded towards Sigurd's sword.

Me12:40:56
He followed the eyes of the other, glancing back at his own sword with a smile. That sword was one of his most precious treasures, aside from his own life. He had a few others before it which he grew out of, and though it wasn't really a special type of sword the meaning behind it was much more meaningful than any special or expensive sword. "So it would seem." Naturally, his eyes turned to the other's sword.

Mau12:42:35
"Your mother says you are a good fighter. Yet you prefer not to.. that is another thing we share."

Me12:44:38
"Really? She had not mentioned that fact. It is nice to know you prefer not to fight. I apologize for my mother's actions during your first meeting. She usually is not so rash, but she was feeling a little unoccupied at the time. Her warrior's blood hungers for battle." He nodded lightly, first a smile in his eyes, then an apology within.

Mau12:46:15
"I prefer not to harm females, and she did not harm me." He offered a smile, as his association so far with Lenneth had not been a bad one. It had been more of an interesting one, for she often said odd things. "It is fine."

Me12:47:43
"We seem to share that in common as well. But thank you for not thinking badly of her. She is a good person, genuinely so, but sometimes she does rash things." He smiled lightly. Seiji was a rather nice person himself. The two seemed to get along well, perhaps to the point of friends.

Mau12:48:56
"Such as attacking others at dusk?" A wry smile formed on his face, for it had been foolish, in his mind, to attack him in such a way.

Me12:50:10
He laughed the nodded, "Yes, such as attacking others at dusk. As I am sure you already know, she is always in search of warriors. Testing them out on her own usually helps her determine their strength. Even if not a good fight always gets her going."

Mau12:51:12
"Hnnnnn..." He folded his front paws together, a perplexed look on his face now. He truly didn't understand such a need to fight, but... "It seems that is what she is most used to."

Me12:53:02
"She knows many things, but fighting is the one she is most familiar with. Mother was 'born' for that purpose, you could say. It truly is not the best thing to know, but it is something that accompanies her duties as a valkyrie." He shrugged his shoulders lightly at the thought. Sigurd didn't quite understand the urge to fight that badly, either, but in comparison he was rather tamed.

Mau12:53:39
"She told me as much. And that her younger sister is being held captive, but she cannot free her."

Me12:56:28
"Yes, unfortunately her youngest sister is being held captive. Her hatred for the Undead was only fueled even further due to that. Though hard to believe, her older sister is even more zealous." His expression was no longer a happy one. The stories he heard of both his aunts were not great ones. Even though his Aunt Silmeria, the younger, was more...sane and more merciful than the other two, it was unfortunate she was held captive. And well...Aunt Hrist was ruthless in everything she did.

Mau12:58:37
Seiji perked his ears, watching the expressions flitting across Sigurd's face. "More zealous?"

Me12:59:52
"More zealous than my mother when it comes to Valkyrie duties and carrying out the orders of their lord," he nodded. She would not hesitate even one bit to lay waste to an entire kingdom if her lord willed it. He could recall the stories and how horrible it sounded.

Mau1:00:44
"I take it that is not a good thing, from the expression on your face?"

Me1:02:17
Shaking his head, he answered, "No. Aunt Silmeria's banishment lead to other things. The country she was staying in had plans to rebel against the Gods for always toying with their fate. Aunt Hrist was ordered to kill Aunt Silmeria as well as the rest of the country. Though Aunt Silmeria escaped, the country was not so lucky."

Mau1:03:39
Seiji scowled as the realization of what Sigurd was speaking of hit him. "She.. killed.. innocents?"

Me1:05:13
It was a terrible thing. So many died...But even his mother wasn't there first hand. These were just...stories she heard down the grapevine. As for the little part with his aunts, it didn't take long for Lenneth to connect the dots. "If there were survivors, there would have been very few..."

Mau1:06:05
"That is not fair to those who are innocent."

Me1:07:06
Shaking his head, he agreed with Seiji's statement, "No, it is not. But that is just how Aunt Hrist is...And how the Gods are..." He sighed. Even if the humans were rebelling, the Gods didn't have to kill...

Mau1:08:00
"I do not like such gods." His expression now was unreadable once again, but his tone made his annoyance clear.

Me1:09:31
"Gods are usually known for toying with the lives of people as if it were some game. If you are familiar with mythology or other religions many Gods do the same. Gods have all this power...yet they put it to the wrong uses. I guess they are human after all," he shrugged and sighed at the same time. The two of them were obviously fairly annoyed.

Mau1:14:04
"They are not human, but they have the weaknesses of humans."

Me1:16:19
They share many of the same things as humans, though not human themselves. But this topic would only further irritation between the two of them. Instead, he decided to strike up a different topic, "Excuse me if I come off as rude, but may I ask what your relationship with my mother is? Staying on the topic of Gods only seem to irritate us further," he chuckled lightly.

Mau1:18:06
"Yes, I agree." For a few moments he was silent, as he pondered the question asked. "I would say.. that at best, we could be considered aquaintances at his moment, as we have only met twice."

Me1:19:33
"Ah, I see. Sorry to seem intruding. I was simply curious." Even if it were anything further Lenneth would never admit to it first on the account of her pride. She was too stubborn.

Mau1:20:36
"You are not intruding. If you were anyone else, perhaps. But she is your mother, and you are interested in her welfare, correct?"

Me1:22:16
He nodded, "Very much so. I worry for her, even if there really is no need since she is rather self-sufficient." Sigurd would have to keep his ears opened a little more. Next time something might come out of Seiji and his mother's meeting. Not anything too drastic, he imagined, but still, he should keep his ears open to anything new.

Mau1:23:37
"Or she likes to seem that she is. No one can be alone forever. You need friends, at the least."

Me1:25:12
She has friends, but not ones she meets up with often. He was probably her best friend, not that he minded. When she spoke to him about more personal things she was very open about them. "She is self-sufficient enough, not to the point of complete solitude, obviously." He was living proof of that.

Mau1:26:21
"Yes, she has you." Seiji nodded. Lenneth spent most of her time with her son; that was obvious.

Me1:27:59
"Well, aside from me she has others as well. Though I am the one she spends most of her time with." As of late she also seemed to have Seiji, even if their encounters weren't as often as hers with Sigurds.

Mau1:29:05
"Other friends? I see." Lenneth had not mentioned any other friends.

Me1:30:26
It was no surprise, she wasn't very close to many of them. "Perhaps she was distracted by other topics. The only other one she is close with is Akari, whom shares our household. She is very friendly and opened up very easily despite my mother's cold personality."

Mau1:31:17
"She was quite busy with telling me the tales of her creation, and the gods she serves.*

Me1:32:25
"There you have it. Maybe next meeting she will tell you of her friends. Though she does not seem to know much of you and your life. She only mentioned your interactions with females in your world."

Mau1:33:44
Seiji chuckled. That was, indeded, what he had mostly talked about. "The females of my world are odd. She seemed amused by them."

Me1:34:58
"I was rather amused myself when she spoke of that tale," He laughed lightly at the thought. Females were practically throwing themselves at him. Lenneth would never exaggerate either, which made the story all the more amusing.

Mau1:35:43
"You would not be so amused if you had been in my place." He shook his head remembering those women, and sighed.

Me1:36:56
The two of them were very similar in personality. He imagined females doing the same. It was a bit frightful and overwhelming, but he still could not help but chuckle. "I apologize, it must have been difficult to handle."

Mau1:37:53
"I should have simply married young. Then it would have solved itself. Somewhat."

Me1:39:06
He laughed at the response, "I doubt it would have. Their enthusiasm would still remain as high until they realized you were married, I am sure. But I doubt the same problem is carried into this world? I hope, at least for your sake."

Mau1:40:02
"I do not know.. I make it a point to avoid most females here, as well. Aside from those who live in the same house as me."

Me1:41:20
He nodded with an understanding look upon his face, "I see. Well, I am sure your 'curse' will not carry over. The females here for the most part seem rather sane."

Mau1:42:42
"I would rather not find out ^_^; "

Me1:43:52
"I have met my fair share, and none have jumped out of the blue to ask for marriage or children. There are also more attractive housemates I have who also share the same experiences." He tried to sound as assuring as he could manage.

Mau1:46:08
At that, Seiji flushed. Just how much had Lenneth told him? "I... I would hope not. But being out here is best for me. I do not make friends easily."

Me1:47:49
Lenneth told him quite a bit. Not every detail or story, but enough for him to understand the kind of person he was. "The locals here are almost all friendly. I am sure if you went into the building over there," he pointed at HQ, "you would find yourself a few new friends."

Mau1:49:16
"I have watched. I am not ready to go inside just yet."

Me1:50:13
"I see. It is always open and almost always someone is in there. To my knowledge it houses a few families as well."

Mau1:50:57
"A few families? I have seen children there, in the gardens. It is a safe zone for everyone."

Me1:51:54
He nodded, "I do not know the exact numbers. But often times families who live elsewhere will also bring their young to there for play time or relaxation"

Mau2:06:44
"I will have to go in, someday."

Me2:08:33
"You should. I am sure you will make friends easily." He smiled before continuing, "Well, it is probably best I go. Mother will worry otherwise. Again, it was a pleasure to meet you." He dipped his head lightly.

Mau2:09:42
"You two.. I will talk to you again?"

Me2:10:32

"Yes, I am sure we shall meet again." He answered before heading home.

Mau2:12:28
Seiji watched him go, the tip of one tail flicking lightly. A very curious family. But not in a bad way. After the other had disappeared into the darkness, Seiji re-climbed his tree and found his spot on the branches once more.
