I hear Arban's Complete Conservatory Method is like the trumpet bible. A little price, but I guess it's worth it. Unfortunately, I do not have it. sad

Find it here

I can say that I don't read sheets, even though I can read it. However, if your up for a challenge, try playing by ear. The band I am in had an experiment in which we will get a CD with our instrument, study what the musician did on the CD, and then perform it, note by note, in time with the CD. We also had a time limit of one month to get it done.

I can perform the GodFather trumpet solo by ear. I had done that last year 1 and a half years ago when i was 12 in seventh grade, i started playing the trumpet in 5th.

try "The Real Book" for your instrument. i always forget if it's Bb or C... but it's got music of all styles. i mean, some pieces are easy, but just change it up, double the tempo, have fun with it.
