Blaze sat in the forest next to a small fire. He had finally figured out how to get one going and was really excited. He stared at the flames as the danced and made different shadows play on the ground. Blaze loved fire and could watch it's dance for hours.

Maera lurked in the shadows, silently slipping from tree to tree as she walked. It was much darker there than most would be able to see, but her eyes were well accustomed to it. She batted her eyes as an strange, moving light appeared to the far edge of her vision, and she began to make her way over there to investigate.

Blaze sat back on his haunches and dusted his hands. He did awesome work if he did say so himself. He didn't see the namir that was sneaking up in the shadows, he was too interested in the flames. He didn't know why they caught his eye, maybe since his pelt was flame colored.

Maera slowed her pace as she grew nearer, making every move possible to not be noticed. Her pupils grew small before adjusting to the light. She quietly looked past a tree a few yards away to look at a dark namir around a fire. She stared, still and silent.

Blaze sighed as the fire started to die down. He didn't like how fast it burned up the logs he found. It was time to gather more. Blze got up and wandered around looking for wood, but not seeing the female namir.

Maera made sure to quickly move as he got up, trying to keep him from seeing her. If there was one thing she learned as she was growing up, it was that you never want to get in the way of a guy when he wants something. She looked past the tree trunk to get a better look at him in the dark, her eyes slightly glowing.

Blaze picked up a few sticks from where the female had once been and then sat. Had he heard something? Nah, he didn't think he did. He returned to his small fire and put the sticks on it. The fire got big again and he sat down with a smile.

Maera continued to watch the male walk around the forest, interested with what he was doing. She turned and made a soft yelp of pain as the fire grew large, the unexpected light burning her dilated eyes.

Blaze jumped at the noise and then shook himself, he wasn't one to be scared, the noise had just caught him off gaurd. "Hello?" Blaze said as he slowly padded to the area the yelp had come from.

Maera rubbed her eyes and cursed to herself as she heard the male call out. She wasn't about to be caught. She started to try and walk away, but she was still dazed and ended up walking into a tree. She growled at it.

Blaze heard the growl and walked in that direction. He saw a shadowy shape of a female namir by a tree, it was dark but he saw sploshes of red on her fur. "Hello?" He said again, wondering what this girl was doing.

Maera turned her head at the male who had come to find her, and scowled at him. Her ears twitched up so she could hear if he was moving, and her eyes dilated so that she could see him perfectly. He didn't seem to want to cause her harm, but you can never be to sure. "Hello..." she replied in a soft, eerie tone.

Blaze stood and watched the girl. She didn't seem frightened or hurt, more like on gaurd. Who wouldn't be when meeting someone new? "I'm Blaze. What are you doing out here?" IT was obvious he was playing with fire again, but what about her?

Maera looked at the male suspiciously, here eyes narrowing slightly. Her tail twitched slowly behind her, her paws firm on the ground. She couldn't be sure he proved no threat until he proved himself. That meant she would share no personal information with him, which is why she remained silent.

"Well, I'm here to sit by the fire." He looked at her and then the fire. She was silent, probably checking him out and really, he didn't blame her. He then turned away with a comment over his shoulder, "You're welcome to join me." With that he went and sat by the fire, not really upset if she didn't join him.
