Had to do a self-portrait in pencil for my printmaking class.
It's 9x12 on Vellum Bristol. Doesn't look quite so choppy irl but that's the best scan I could get.

I think self portraits are the hardest. I think you (people in general, or just me) tend to want to stick to realism...but rarely do they ever come out completely accurate, like a photo. But it seems you've solved this problem by merging realism with stylization....and it look really nice.
Especially since you seem to have good control over the medium.
however. shoulder's up looking at the viewer self portraits in general don't really interest me all the much...although i've taken drawing class and know it's a common assignment, so i don't blame you for it.
