The Emperor has allowed westerners to build on this small isle connected to the mainland by a bridge, but not on the mainland itself (putting the
Gajin at a military disadvantage if they make him mad). western and eastern goods and ideas are constantly being exchanged though not always politely. Westerners (and everybody's west of nippon) are a varied group. They come from many nations and have many different motives, there is no real stereotype for them beyond hoping to see the new lands of the east.

All around you are Gajin, outsiders, the sounds of construction can be heard all over the isle as they erect new houses, taverns, docks, and churches. Many merchants ply their trade, and their goods from across the world here, watched over by the blue and silver uniformed Jaegers.
Other more exotic Gajin catch your eye, it appears the people of the west include far more than regular humans.
