the Asteroid Belt, a vast disk of rock and ice floating between the Mars and Jupiter orbit. because most of the resources on earth have been deplided companies venture here to harvest them. but all those big-bellyed loaded to the max ships attract pirates who are after some easy pickings. most of the times both the Harvest and Pirate captains relay on their skills in this never-ending cat-and-mouse game. but the Terran millitairy now patrols the Belt. giving pirates quite a hard time, being both hunter and hunted. but this has made them very creative, because they are unlikely to win a face to face battle with military ships.
the Asteroid Belt is also where most Drifters reside, they are mostly bounty-hunters or other independend contracters.
