Neshaka peered closer at the map to try and decipher it. "Why do they always print these in eye-strain-o-vision?" she muttered to herself, trying to figure out exactly which corrider they were in. "We went left, right, left, left..." "This is 'lost', right?" Dashiell piped up from next to her. Neshaka glanced down sideways before speaking. "Yep, this is most definitely what we call being 'lost'."
Neshaka apparently had some papers or something to pick up from Dashiell's teacher, which came with the problem of actually finding this teacher.
With a groan, Neshaka decided to give up. "C'mon, we'll sort it out later. Maybe if we head back we can find someone to help us out."

Nibal had finished his classes for the day and was heading towards his dad's office when he heard someone farther down the hallway. It sounded like they were just around the corner, really. The boy paused, for it wasn't a voice he knew. And he knew most of the teachers' voices, at least. But this one had another voice with it, that of a child.
The boy glanced back at Kalseru, who was wondering why they'd stopped and headbutted Nibal to get across the point that she was hungry and wanted to go home where the food was. Nibal smiled and patted the green's head. She's right, the boy thought. We should go make friends with these people! Plus... they're lost. That was rather easy to do in this building. Even Nibal didn't know where every hallway led...
The frog boy rounded the corner and spotted the woman and little boy not all that far away. He grinned and walked toward them. "Lost?"
Kalseru was staring at the boy with the woman. He was green! Green was a most wondrous color! And this boy was all green. Much better than the blue of her own boy. The green dragon pushed past Nibal and eagerly ran towards Dashiell.
"Kal!" Nibal tried to snag the dragon, but only succeeded in tugging her tail a bit before she continued on in her race.

Neshaka glanced up at a rattle of feet and someone yelling. Noticing a dragon charging towards her protectee, reflexes kicked in and she swept the boy up and away, out of danger. Once that was done, Dashiell standing on her other side, she took a closer look at the dragon, and then at the bright blue kid lagging behind. "You really ought to keep dragons in check, you know." Her voice was dry, though somewhat amused.
Dashiell, curiousity winning over surprise, peeked out from behind Neshaka to peer at the dragon. "Wow, a dragon! It's green!"

Kalseru growled softly as the green thing was swept up and away. Like a rather large (and heavy) canine, she jumped up, placing her forelegs on the woman to peer at the green boy.
"Kal! Down!" Nibal caught up to the dragon and tugged her off the woman. "I'm sorry... I don't know why she's acting like this." He glared at the green, who was still trying to get to Dashiell. "Bad Kal! Sit!"
The dragon snorted at Nibal's command, but did at least place all four legs on the ground again. The boy sighed, turning his attention back to the woman again. "She's usually not so energetic..." He glanced at the green dragon again.

Neshaka looked down at the dragon irritably and stuck a foot out behind her to stabilise herself. She briefly swept down the black t-shirt she was wearing, before scrutinising Nibal. "It happens, I guess. No harm done." She shrugged sideways.
Dashiell, attention thoroughly caught by the colourful boy and dragon, swerved around Neshaka's legs to play with the dragon. "Green dragon! Can I get one?" he said, while going to pat the dragon's head like a dog.
"I'm Neshaka, and this is Dash."

Nibal was glad that the woman didn't seem very mad. Kal wasn't exactly small to be jumping up on people, but he'd never really had a problem with her before. "I'm Nibal and this is Kalseru." The boy rested a hand on the green's head, making sure that she wasn't going to pounce anyone.
Kal's thick tail began to wag behind her as the green boy reappeared and began to pat her. Ah, all was right in the world! "You can have me!" The green happily replied in Draconic.
Nibal smiled at the smaller boy. "Hmm.. you might get a green. I haven't seen many others around... But you're still young. My dad says that you gotta be older before you get your dragon. Dunno why, he just said that's how it is." The frog boy gave a shrug at that. He remembered having to wait forever until he was finally old enough.

"Nice to meet you." Neshaka nodded.
Dash continued to pat the dragon, since it seemed to like it. "Kal-seru," he repeated, "makes funny noises?" Dash grinned, green was now his favourite dragon colour.
"Right, you're supposed to get a dragon in a year or two. Or maybe less. They were very specific." The last was mostly an aside to herself. "So this is a green, huh?"

Nibal grinned back at the kid. "Yeah. My dad says it's a language, but that she should learn English sometime soon." He glanced at the dragon. Unfortunately he hadn't seen any sign of her trying.
The frog boy nodded at the woman. "Yup! You get to see your egg and then, after it hatches, you get to take classes with your dragon! And they get to go places with you and it's lots of fun!"

"Like best friends!" Dashiell tugged on Neshaka's hands. "If I do my homework really good, do I get a dragon faster?"
"Maybe. You should do it well anyway, so you can teach your dragon better." Neshaka remembered their actual purpose of coming to the building, and ran a hand through her hair. "Right, I don't suppose you know your way around well, do you? Or are you here with someone?"
"Gotta find my homework," added Dashiell, helpfully.

"Just like a best friend!" Nibal agreed, then nodded at the woman. "My dad works here, so I know my way around pretty well... And he's probably still working, so he won't mind. Whatcha looking for?"
Kal's tail thumped the ground happily. She liked this green boy a lot. After all, he was GREEN.

"We're looking for the classroom. His teacher's name is..." Neshaka checked the back of the map, which had some details on it. "Kat."
Dashiell, slightly bored, started to run his fingers along the sides of Kalseru's back spines.

Nibal grinned. "Miss Kat? Oh, I know where her classroom is!" The frog boy remembered being in that class, though he was much smaller then. He glanced around quickly to get his bearings. "This way." He gestured in the direction before starting down that way.
Kal gave a happy sound as the boy continued to pet her, but was soon interrupted by her blue boy's announcement and movement away from the group. With a large sigh, she slunk off after Nibal, glancing to see if the green boy was going to follow.

Happy to have found a guide, Neshaka set off in the same direction.
Neshaka mentally mapped the route as they walked. After a while, Neshaka's mind turned business-like and she started thinking about security holes in the system.
After a moment's silence walking behind the green dragon, Dashiell decided that the best thing to do was to grab the end of Kalseru's tail to follow.

Several turns and some walking distance later, Nibal stopped and pointed at a door. "There we go." He grinned at the woman. "Kinda confusing, isn't it? It takes a bit to get used to this place." He shrugged. "But a lot of the teachers are pretty cool about you trying to find the way to their classrooms the first time. Some get offended by you being late, though." He glanced at the door to the classroom they were standing outside of. "Kat's not one of those, though. She's really nice."
Kal glanced back at the boy as he grabbed her tail, but happily trotted on until they stopped and she reached over to nuzzle the green boy with her snout.

"Great, thanks." Neshaka flashed the boy a rare grin. "I hope Dashiell remembers the way."
Whilst being nuzzled by Kal, Dash tried to nod. "I will!"
"Thanks for the help. I hope we'll see you around." Neshaka nodded and made a mental note about the boy and his dragon.
