Personality - Born in the slums of Kirigakure, from an early age he was introduced to violence and has grown desensitized to it. He has no qualms about killing and can sometimes become quite brutal and cruel to his opponents, becoming the stereotypical Mist Shinobi. He's loyal to Kirigakure and his fellow sowrdsman and is a dangerous person to have as your enemy.

 Kaoru Kugashira was born to a single mother in the Hidden Mist Village, he never met his father and never belonged to any special clan of high and mighty origin.
He was brought up as a ninja in Kirigakure, entering the Academy and taking part in the ritualistic killing of their school friend, but Kaoru was different.
He never had any qualms about killing his school partner, for he grew up in one of the worst parts in the Hidden Village, the outlying slums. He saw much bloodshed and violence and eventually became desensitized by it, and that allowed him to become a genin before others would think of it, and it helped on his missions when tough calls where in order.
He passed his chuunin exam with flying colors, only running into difficulty in the final matches where he lost, but due to his high score from the other Exams was able to advance in rank.
It wasnt until after a few months of him being a chuunin did his shinobi life take a turn from the ordinary. He was content with the routine of missions and so forth, constantly moving from one danger to another, but when he was offered the position of one of the Legendary Seven Swordsman of the Mist did it open his eyes to the mindless life he had been living.
He trained diligently under one of the aging Swordsman who was planning on leaving the Group, and studied the swords and techniques of the pervious members.
When the time came for his introduction into the group, he was tasked with constructed his own blade. Instead of creating a completely new sword, he instead decided to craft a sword in the exact replica of Zabuza Momochi's zanbatou.
He felt that tradition should dictate the use of a sword from the past. With his acceptance into the group came the chance to go on missions out of the ordinary, where he finally was able to break the mold and excel into the ranks of Jounin.
