Things felt... Different. First they'd been on a dirt ground, then a furry back. Now... The very air felt different. The cub cried, tiny claws digging into the surface under her paws. After a few minutes, she huddled against her sister.
A feather tickled her nose, causing the cub to sneeze. Almost on instinct, she blindly flexed a paw at the source of irritation. Other irritants, though, were harder to be rid of. Around her, the air felt heavier, more humid. But she knew nothing of humidity, not yet. All she knew was she didn't like it, her protests getting louder.

Her sibling growled angrily, digging her claws blindly, objecting to the change of climate with a yeowl.
It made bthe journey no easier on PRimitus. Tiny claws made the god grimace, landing, taking the bulk of impact on himself. He preferred to not fly, but if he had to, he could. He sighed, panting, and lay down, resting himself and the cubs, if but a moment.

When they landed, the pink-striped cub squeeled. Paws managing to flail, she found herself holding onto a feather before sliding down, down... And softly landing on the ground, feather still in her mouth. Being next to a warm body, she huddled to it, seeking comfort. So strange, this place...

Primitus hesitated, but two warm bodies to protect held him, and he sighed, grooming both for the umpteenth time.
He had to find them a mother. Wetnurses were fine as he moved, but a permanent mother was safer for their survival.....

A black adolescent paced through the undergrowth, her form melting in and out of the leaf shadow with an adolescent sort of grace. She was not what she would be as an adult, but there was promise in her lanky form.
Red eyes swept the area for movement as she patroled, making sure no males had entered her mother's lands. It was a duty she both loved and despised... considering she rarely saw another soul while on patrol. On the upside though, she enjoyed being out an about, seeing new things in places she'd passed hundreds of times before.

As the sound of another approaching reached the pink-striped cub's ears, she began to call out. The feather stayed under her paws, kept safe from loss, as she cried out for what she perceived to be her mother. After all, that's all it could be, right?

The small black cub growled softly, joining her sister's cries. This massive beast didn't have food-- and she wanted momma.
Primitus flattened his ears at the cub's bleating, but scenting another, the god tensed, shrinking back into hiding a bit, but watching....
If need be, he'd kill to protect those cubs from slavery..... Young and weak as he was....

The soft mewling of kittens drew Hippy's attention and she perked up, ears swiveling forward and up. What -was- that? None of the lionesses in the pride had cubs right now...
The only answer she could think of was that some female had entered the lands and she'd brought cubs with her. It put the black girl on edge and she started towards the sounds. If nothing else, she had to bring her to Kiuma, which was what she thought she was supposed to do. Hopefully, it wasn't someone she'd have to fight... She knew how, but Hippolyta had never done it before. She certainly wasn't looking forward to starting now.

The cub mewled, crying hungrily. Where was the warmth? Where was the other body?
A paw reached, and the cub cried further. It was so cold.....
Primitus watched, remaining hidden, worried. He didn't wish to fight, had no intention of it....
Just let whomever it was leave, quickly.....

Sniffing about, she soon smelled the scent of another. Letting out a new torrent of cries, the cub sought out the attention of the other, whoever it was. Was it their mother? She didn't know, but she wanted their attention, their affection... Anything at all. Anything would do.

When Hippolyta broke from the surrounding foliage to find two small girl cubs, she was understandably startled. She looked around quickly, searching for their mother or, gods forbid, father. They had to have -someone- and that someone could be dangerous... but for all she could see, the cubs were entirely alone in the world.
Red eyes blinked dumbfounded at the cubs as the black female came slowly, cautiously forward. It just didn't make sense... they couldn't have gotten here on their own, they were obviously too small for that. But who'd brought them? And why had they left them here to fend for themselves? Had they known she was coming, and if they had, did they assume she would take charge of the pair?
Hippy hesitated and drew back as she glanced around nervously again. This whole situation made her nervous and on edge, even as the pitiful cries of the cubs tugged at her heart, inching her closer and closer to them even as she looked around.

The black cub kept a small glittering blue feather under her newborne paws, the stars in it shining. However, the wind stole it, blowing it toward Hippolyta as even the cub realized the last warm thing she had got away-- and the cub began bleating again, insistant, upset, almost screaming. She was hungry, cold, and scared. Her Warm Thing was gone, and she couldn't see to find it. distressed, the cub unleashed an unhappy cry. If not food, atleast warmth?
Could no one provide even that?
Primitus, however, hid on, shaking horribly. He wanted to go to them both, but the female intimidated him, and he shook, watching from hiding.
No, it was best for the cubs he stayed out of sight for now.

Pawing about, the pink-marked cub let out another cry, becoming more insistent. Somebody was out there, she just knew it! Where were they? Were they coming? She was starting to become exhausted, though. Crying was taking a toll of energy on her, and she was already hungry.

Hippolyta sighed as she stepped from cover finally, glancing around nervously as she padded to stand over the cubs. There was no one about, as far as she could tell... and the cries of the cubs were so pitiful that she just couldn't ignore them any longer.
Bending down, she tried her best to soothe the pair with a light lick to each, sliding her tongue over their heads and down their spines, a light nosing to be sure they were no more than hungry, not wounded or hurt. "Where's your momma, girls?" She murmured as she pushed the pair together, both for their comfort and warmth, and so she could keep better track of them. Glancing up again, she worried the side of her mouth with her teeth, her tail flicking in agitation. She couldn't just leave them here... they were cold and hungry, from what she could tell, and what kind of a mother let her daughters get that way?
Sighing, the black female made up her mind and started to maneuver the pair into a better position. If the mother came back, then she could come find the cubs with the pride, safe and sound. If not, then at least they'd be taken care of, poor orphans. She'd just be sure to leave a track that was easy to follow, just in case...
Biting down, she worked to snag the nape of both cubs' necks, grunting with the effort of lifting both bodies up. It was going to be a long walk back, but for them, she'd make it.
Hippy's nose wrinkled at the dry, dusty smell of the pair and found herself wondering where they'd come from... her little pair of jungle babies...

Feeling the presence of a larger lion again, the female cub squealed, tiny nose wuffling. Who was there? Was it their mother? These wordless thoughts were overturned as she bleated again, asking, nay, begging for food from the tounge, and huddling into her sister when it momentarily vanished. When she was lifted, she squeaked, before mewling, begging to be fed.
Primitus watched in silence, before turning, slipping away. Whomever the lioness was, he had a faint, but strong sense... The cubs were OK. He eyed the lioness again. Whomever she was, he had a feeling he would best watch her, for now...
But... All the same.... The cubs were safe. Of this, his heart sang.
