The golden clockwork wolf lifted his head, breathing in the scent of the pack. Broken Shore... He wasn't sure what kinda name it was, but Piper held the alpha femme in high regard it seemed...
So he would trust her.
Besides...
They needed a pack. Akko was carrying pups and although she was barely showing, her sides would soon bulge with the children held there and it would be a matter of time before she was weak and unable to continue looking.
No, Broken Shore would have to do... At least until the pups were old enough to travel without harm...
Chronos just prayed that this "Faile" was a kind soul and that Broken Shore would become a home to their pups and Akko... And perhaps to him, too.

Akkomiakattar stayed close to her lover, mate? She still wasn't sure what they were, that was definitely something they would have to speak about soon. But not now, not they were on the territory of another pack, apparently the pack that Chronos had been searching for. The femme hoped they would be accepted, she wasn't sure how long she could go on traveling and looking for a place to settle.
She stepped closer to Chronos, pressing her side against his and nuzzling him for a moment taking strength in his presence. Things weren't as hard with him besides her, and she knew even if they weren't accepted the clockwork covered male would still take care of her and their unborn pups.
Scenting the air she wondered how long they would be left to wait on the outskirts of the pack until someone came to greet them. She had already decided that she would stay silent unless spoken too this time around. Her last time speaking with an alpha hadn't ended up quite as well as she had hoped it would.

No rest for the wicked, the saying went. Well, if there wasn't any rest for the wicked, the same was doubly true for those who weren't. Since the birth of the pups, Faile had been running herself ragged with feeding them, cleaning them, going on patrols, and overseeing the general welfare of the pack. The one admission to the fact that she had nursing pups was that she had withdrawn from hunting until they were older, just in case. But the large black she-wolf needed the patrols, needed the exercise they provided in particular. As her long strides ate up the distance, the scent of strangers entered her nostrils and she slowed, head and tail raising somewhat. Whoever they were, she would speak with them. "Hello?" she called out.

His muzzle found hers, licking the side of her face gently, as if to say, 'It'll be okay, angel.' Because it would be. It had to be.
They would stand at this border until the alpha came. Together, a shield.
He didn't know that Miss Alphess had a litter of pups herself until the large black form came into view. His nostrils flared at the scent of newborn, blood and milk on her coat and the tiredness in her step.
Yet, still the strong alpha.
"Hello," he murmured, lowering his tail and pricking his ears. "I-I'm Chronos...and this is my mate, Akko. You are Faile?"

Akko smiled as she was comforted by him,he truly made her feel like everything was going to be okay. Her tail wagged ever so slightly, just moving enough to brushed against the back of his legs in a playful manner as they stood together. She was just about to lie down and settle in but then she heard a voice and caught the scent of another.
Her ears perking Akko glanced around until her blue eyes landed on a black femme. Sniffing again she could smell pups and other wolves on this she-wolf and she assumed this was the alpha they were waiting for. She looked to Chronos to speak for them, knowing he could present them without sounding confused like she would be.
When she heard exactly how he presented them she couldn't stop her blue eyes from widening, he called her his mate. She was barely able to keep herself from barking with joy and pouncing on him, filled with the joyfulness of a pup. Instead she just shifted her weight from paw to paw a smile on her face.
Looking towards the ebony coloured femme she dipped her head in respect. "Hello" Her voice was light and she didn't trust herself to say much else. Oh how she wished he would have warned her before calling her his mate in front of another. She wasn't quite prepared for the reaction it caused inside her.

"Chronos and Akko," Faile said the names slowly, testing them out on her tongue. Good names, they had a ring to them. Nodding slightly in satisfaction, she continued, "I'm Faile, alpha of Broken Shore pack. I'm guessing you already knew these were the lands, since you seem to have been waiting here...so that begs the question of a reason." Deep green eyes studied the pair as she remained standing, waiting.

He might not've sounded confused, but the gold and cream male was buzzing with nerves. What if she tossed them out? What if they had to continue on? Of course, he couldn't voice these. He couldn't worry Akko... He didn't need to stress her out as well.
The frown on his maw was the proof of her feelings...until he felt Akko literally wiggling at his side. Excitement? A grin rose upon his features and he snuck a quick gaze at her, his tail wagging twice, both times held low but he knew she could feel them against her thigh.
"Yes, actually..." Chronos began, stepping forwards with his head high. Deep breaths. He could do this. "Piper, alpha of Gomorrah territory, speaks highly of you... She suggested I might come to Broken Shore if I was ever in need of a pack... And we are. We're looking to join your clan, milady."
He bowed his head low and stepped back, his speech short and brief. Now he would wait.

Akko felt her mate's tail brush against her leg and she glanced over at him quickly, a smile on her maw. She couldn't help herself, soon enough though she looked away from the male and to the female in front of them, trying to look respectful.
When Chronos stepped forwards she stayed where she was, letting him take the lead. She knew she was being uncharacteristically quiet but she didn't want to botch their chances at getting accepted into a pack. Especially a pack that Chronos seemed to think was fitting for them.
As he stepped back she bowed her head as well, hoping for a good reception.

As Chronos spoke Faile smiled, relaxing slightly. "Rest easy, both of you," she said in a gentler tone. "We are always welcoming of new blood in Broken Shore, and we're not as harsh as some of the packs that I've heard singing on the winds lately." The thought made anger bubble inside. Slavery, death, war...such dark songs were why she pressed herself as she did, ensuring that she would be fit to fight the moment such pups were old enough to survive without her near-constant attention. Sending such dark thoughts packing with a slight shake of her head, she looked back to the pair. "You and your mate are more than welcome here for as long as you wish to stay."

"T-Thank you!" He couldn't hold the surprise back for certain she'd turn a pair of loners down. His entire body heaved a sigh of relief at her words, however, and a smile lit up his eyes.
Piper had been right... He was glad he'd listened to the navy and white female, being able to see the truth in her haughty words for once.
Their puppies would have a shoreside home to grow up in... A month ago, if someone had come up to him and said, 'Hey Chronos; I predict you'll find a mate and a home and a family, all within the next few weeks,' Chro would have shot them down with a snort and a sneer.
"If there's anything we can help you with, just speak!"

As they were accepted into the pack Akko couldn't hold back her grin any longer, nor was she able to keep control of her tail which began to wag like crazy. They had finally found somewhere they could settle, there would be no more traveling, no more searching and the blue femme was glad.
"Thank you, Faile" Her words were soft, but full of her gratitude.

His tail began to wag at Akko's voice, his muzzle reaching over to nudge her. Emerald eyes glittered with glee as if to say, 'We're in, Akko!'

Feeling her mate's nudge Akko grinned at him, licking his muzzle affectionately. She couldn't help it, so happy that they were finally accepted. Her own tail was wagging as they stood side by side and her own eyes were full of excitement for their impending pups and new pack.

Chronos sat, waiting Faile's permission to truly step paw onto their new territory. Their new home. His nose touched her side; a side that would soon be jutting with puppy. And he laughed. "Soon, Akkomiakattar... Soon."

After a moment Akko sat as well, her side pressed up against her mate. She knew then, in the moments after their acceptance where she felt the need to be so close to him, that she wouldn't be able to be away from him for any prolonged period of time. She'd go crazy missing him, the security of his body next to hers, the love and warmth she saw in his eyes, the melody of his laughter.
Looking into his emerald eyes with her blue ones she smiled, all the love she felt for him reflected in her eyes. Leaning closer to him she whispered in his ear, "Nothing in the world is more important to me than you," Her warm breath brushed past the wolf's fur as she whispered to him. Pulling her head back she just smiled, looking out at their new pack lands over Faile's shoulder, knowing if she kept her eyes on Chro she'd end up doing things, saying things that shouldn't be said in front of their new alpha.
