What do you think they are going to do with Grissom
I think that he goes back to Cali. with Sara. Considering that I think that she comes back on the first episode of season 9.

I hate when shows start losing all of their characters, it's just not the same show anymore. The same thing happened on Criminal Minds, that show was pretty good until they lost Elle and then Gideon. Now the show isn't that great. I hope CSI still remains a good show.

I was going to come on here and make a thread, but you've beaten me to it. All I know is that two execs have confirmed that Petersen is leaving, but they've said that it won't be the 10th episode when he'll leave, but rather the 10th season. Good news in a bad situation - he'll be returning to guest every now and again.
But y'know, this is just a stream of bad news for we LV fans - first Jorja goes, then Gary, now Billy....why couldn't this have happened to Miami!?! crying
On a related note, me thinks Catherine will take over Gil's role in the lab when he leaves. As such, I'm expecting a good build-up to her taking over - unless one of the new CSIs (which they have to bring in - only four left!) takes the role.

I agree that is is indeed disapointing to see William Peterson leave
especially since he is the third actor/actress to leave in the last 2 seasons
but fortunatly he is staying on as an executive producer and he is also willing to do guest star stints.
CSI has a strong cast and though it will be quite a blow losing Peterson especially after loisng Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan I still think that they can succeed

As much as I hate to say it, i'm not all that surprised to see that Billy has decided to leave. cry At the moment he's the biggest reason I watch CSI and once he goes I don't know that i'll continue to watch.
Either way, I hope that somehow we'll see him again!

There has now been rumours that Laurence Fishburne will be taking over Billy's role - but I can't see that happening!

And because he's leaving the show shall go to s**t.
I mean for petes sake they killed Warrick off and now Grissom, MY TWO FAVOURITE CHARACTERS. And Sara's not even staying, I didn't originally like her but I really wish she'd come back but apparently she's only staying for two episodes. What's next! Catherine moves to wherever her kid goes to university, Nick commits suicide? HONESTLY.
If the show doesn't end this season i'm not going to watch season 10.
Grissom's in every flipping scene he's what makes it so funny and entertaining, and as much as I love Catherine she just can't hold the show on her own.

XangelroseX Well he's staying till the 10th episode... and coming back off and on...we definately haven't seen the last of him...just like we aren't gonna see the last of sara s. it totally bugs that he's gonna leave...but i guess i can accept it cause he's gonna be a strong part of the show and will be coming back off and on...i can live with it...*barely*. sad btw: i LOVE ur signature XangelroseX ...it's amazing!

The day Grissom leaves is the day I stop watching CSI. I will buy every season on DVD and watch them all, but I refuse to watch if Grissom isn't going to be there.
Grissom is the heart of the show, "Concentrate on what cannot lie, the evidence." That's his philosophy and runs through the whole show. It won't be the same without him, even if he comes back every once in a while.
I think they may as well cancel the show after this season; it's not worth it with the best developed characters being written off every season.
Betcha Nick is going to go next. whee
