I'm probably going to be learning to play bass sometime when school starts again, for Jazz band, but I want to learn some rock stuff to so I can rock out every now and then. ninja
Any tips for a beginner?

i love bass i think a good way to start is the beggining of enter sandman one of the parts is just the first string and open its not hard

I myself am learning to play bass. I just play the main part of Sunshine of Your Love and Smoke on the Water. I also am going to take lessons from someone I know who plays.

Buy a Metallica songbook and learn Enter Sandman. It's a good song for beginers. Easy and fun to play and hear. 3nodding

10 years self taught. Id just jam with your friends and learn random songs that you like, beleive it or not the first thing I learned was the intro to jerry was a race car driver ._.
