I think that the incoming 6th graders are going to be a BIG problem this year. knowing alot of drama that went on in 5th grade, (younger sister) it's going to be bad. the girls are horrible and plain ruthless. they dont give a care about each others feelings and they do what they want when they want. as for the boys.......... well the usual.
so i think we need to come up with ideas on how to deal with them and break them this year. we need to find out a way becuase they will make band a living hell. evil
any ideas? confused

Good thinking. My brother will be a sixth grader this year, and I can already tell the class of 2011 will be a HUGE problem.
My brother says that most of the kids are out of control as it is, and I'm thinking middle school won't help them. Like Mrs. Carnahan said, over 100 kids signed up for beginning band and the sixth grade class will be
GIGANTIC
I'm sorry to say that I would have no idea what to do about them but I hope you or someone will come up with a good idea.

I DONT WANT MY BROTHER TO COME HERE NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. he is not very social so i am afriad my brother would be made fun of sad
2. he wants to play flute and i know that it is a hard instrument to learn a i have a feeling he wont practice it
3. i have a HUGE felling that mrs. c will bite his head off duing the school year

comeon you guys. this is our year and we NEED to make a HUGE impact on these incoming 6th graders. i know sometimes we all really hate mrs. c but then sometimes (hardly ever) we love her. and even though she has done some unreasonable things to us these past years, we cant leave her with the 2011 class. so we have to change them.
my idea is maybe at the ice breaker event we can do maybe a skit or play on what goes on in band and what everyone needs to do in band in order to succeed.
please, keep posting plent more ideas.
