Akkomiakattar was wandering, she had been for days now. Ever since her fight with Chronos she hadn't been able to shake her bad mood. With an exasperated sigh she paused her walk. As much as she tried she couldn't get the male off her mind. She kept hearing the hateful words she had said to him before she had left. With a growl she shook herself and began her walk again. She knew what she needed to do to make things right, she just wasn't sure she could swallow her pride and do so.

The sky blue wolf had stopped at the edge of the trees, the smell of the salt water and the crash of the waves hitting the shore beckoned her forwards but she didn't move, not yet. After a moment of standing and staring out between the trees she decided she was ready. Slowly she made her way out onto the beach.

Maybe he wouldn't be there, he may have left and made a new den. The words were thought to herself and she almost chuckled, she had a feeling Chronos would be there, he didn't seem like the type to move around very much. Heading towards his den she looked about for the beige wolf. "Chronos?" She called out to him softly, unsure of what exactly she'd do when she saw him.

---

Chronos had spent the better part of the week in the water. His fur was thick with salt and it made it a bit tacky to the touch. Sand had lodged its way into the emerald gem on his bracelet and so, of course, he would lay on the grass for hours afterwards licking it clean.

The idea of making new memories was an interesting one and one that had stayed with the small male even out of Akko's presence. Mainly trying to figure out -how- exactly to do it. It wasn't as if he could recraft a childhood...

Or maybe he could!

He could find a mother and a father and pretend he was a pup once again. They could raise him

But he'd need a pack for that.

And his heart sunk once more.

Splashing out of the ocean at dawn, he flopped down, soaked, into the den, curled up around himself just like he always had. He didn't remember a day when he slept beside someone...another wolf... It would be nice, even for one night.

She would find him in his den. And although it was summer, Chronos was curled into a tight ball, his body shivering and shaking as nightmares plagued his dreams. Whimpers escaped his throat, pitiful and like a pup needing his mother.

Because, in his mind, his father was tearing him apart.

---

Akko stood on the beach, no longer scared that the sand was going to eat her. Her ears swiveled trying to catch the sound of another wolf, maybe he was in the wat- wait. Her ears perked and she turned towards his den, she thought she had heard something. Quietly she made her way towards the small home, ears perked and listening. Ah, there it was again, the sound of a wolf whimpering. "Chronos?" She whispered the words to herself and decided she would investigate quietly, after all another femme might have stumbled upon him while she was gone and been claimed as his. For some reason this thought sent a stabbing pain through her heart, along with a twinge of jealousy. She didn't understand the feelings, and wanted to forget them. So instead of dwelling on them she crept forwards into the den.

The sight that greeted the femme saddened her and immediately made her forget the fact that the last time they saw each other it had ended in a fight. Carefully she made her way around him, lying down in such a way that her body was curled around his own, her head resting on his neck. She nuzzled his fur, unsure whether she should wake him or just lie there with him.

---

"Father!" His screams echoed out through the forest as Fenrir shredded him, slowly, painfully. "Fenrir! Stop!"

They were in a basin of sand, the tiny granules snowing down on them in waves, dust rising up as the two males struggled.

"You knew the rules!" snarled the massive wolf, chains draped around his neck as his jaws closed around Chronos's throat.

The timeclock wolf squeaked, claws digging into the god's chest, his tail tucked as he begged silently, begged to breathe. His lungs burned and slowly, black edged in on his vision. Help. Help... Stop this...

He gave a shudder against Akko, his whole body convulsing, eyelids twitching as he fought off the nightmare. Her muzzle brushed his neck, gentle, and he heaved a huge sigh, falling limp like a normal, sleeping wolf.

And then, the pain was over. Darkness covered him like a cloak and something -- no, someone -- was next to him, purring into his ear sweet nothings. ...Aine?

Chronos jerked awake, only slightly aware of Akko's body.

"It was a woman. A human..." he murmured softly, in shock.

---

Akko's blue eyes widened as the male shuddered, not expecting such a violent reaction from him. Instead of pulling away she curled up closer to him whispering into his ear softly. "It will be alright, Chronos. It's just a dream, only a dream...." As she whispered she continued to nuzzle him softly. It seemed to work since she felt him suddenly relax against her body. She smiled, glad he seemed to be through the painful dream.

Resting her muzzle on his neck she closed her eyes, wondering what exactly was she doing. It was more than just helping another this time, this time she had become woven together with him. Seeing him hurting made her hurt as well, when he relaxed so did she. She didn't understand this, but instead of worrying herself over something she couldn't change she just sighed and listened to the sound of his breathing as they laid together.

She almost let herself succumb to sleep, it had been a long journey away and back after all, when her jerked awake. The sudden movement woke her up and lifting her head she glanced down at him. Hearing his words she was confused. "Who was a human woman?" She couldn't help but ask, wondering if it was a human woman who plagued his dreams.

---

He didn't seem to even notice that Akko had been gone and now she was with him, in his den, talking to him. For all he knew, she was another dreambeing. But it was someone to talk to.

With wide eyes, he shook his head. "The woman... It was a human woman who saved me... I think I loved her once..." Damnit. Why couldn't he remember! Surely he wouldn't fall in love with a -human-... They were the people who muzzled and trapped wolves, who penned them and pitted them against one another. Why a human!?

"I don't know... Damnit," he growled, though it faded into a whine as he curled himself around the blue femme. "I've been a wolf. I couldn't have loved a woman." His lip raised in a sneer at the idea.

After a few minutes of silence, he spoke again. "But she was definitely the one...who gave me these..." Chronos nudged his bracelets.

---

Akko listened, confused by his words. He.....loved a human? It was a disturbing thought, human's weren't to be loved human's were to be feared. She didn't speak this out loud though, she had the feeling that Chronos was suffering enough without her badmouthing who he chose to fall in love with.

She closed her eyes with a sigh, she thought helping him would be so simple. It would be like helping any other wolf, she wouldn't get involved she wouldn't care on a deeper level. Unfortunately she'd done both those things and now she was stuck with him.

As much as she wanted to agree with the fact that it would be impossible for him to fall in love with a human woman she didn't voice her opinion. She didn't think now was the time to talk. She moved her eyes to the bangles around his legs as he nudged them. "Maybe she wasn't a bad human then...." She trailed off, honestly she couldn't imagine a human that wasn't evil but she supposed that there would have to be some out there, somewhere. "At least you're starting to remember?" She looked down at him, a small hopeful smile on her muzzle.

---

He didn't want to love a human. Humans were bad. Maybe it wasn't that sort of love... Maybe his dreams liked to confuse him... Or maybe God hated him that much. And maybe he'd done something to deserve that hatred.

"Maybe..." he murmured, shaking his head once again. "But...I dunno. It didn't show me enough. I can never be sure..."

Finally he sighed and relaxed into her, eyes closing. A though occurred to him. "Why are you here, anyway?" he asked, quietly curious.

---

Akko sighed as well, resting her head on his shoulder once more. She wasn't sure what to say to comfort him and so she didn't say anything at all. She felt him relax against her as well and she couldn't help but smile a bit. Maybe they'd just be able to lie together and not talk about what happened befo- or maybe not. She closed her eyes at his question, she had been hoping that he had maybe mysteriously forgot that she had ran off so angrily before. Of course he hadn't forgotten so she had to explain. She left her eyes closed finding it was easier to apologize that way.

"I wanted to apologize, for running off before and....for what I said. I was just upset and I took it out on you and I shouldn't have....I'm sorry, Chronos."

She opened one eye to glance over at him, trying to gauge his reaction to her apology.

---

How could he forget? She'd been on his mind -- the simple blue wolf and her complex thinking -- since she'd left and he returned to a still-empty den to sleep alone. Now he'd have to tread carefully, because the way she was leaning into him, he almost felt...normal.

As she began to speak, a smile rose on his maw, his eyes still shut so he couldn't see her watching him. An apology... Like she needed to give him one. He was the one who had pushed her over the edge...

"You shouldn't have to apologize, Akkomiakattar," he said, using her full name but the smile was still apparant. "I shouldn't have pushed you. When you're...ready to tell me, I'll be here." If she would ever be ready. But he felt he should offer, nonetheless. "So...no worries. I'd rather you run than face a snarling, snapping Akko anyway..."

---

If she'd been on his mind he had done nothing but live in her own. Which was one of the reason she had came back, when she was gone she was plagued with thoughts of him that she just couldn't bear. Now that she was with him the thoughts were gone, replaced by the much better reality of him pressed against her. She smiled slightly as she saw the smile on his maw.

When he spoke of her being ready to tell him she tensed against his body. She wasn't sure whether or not she'd ever be able to tell him. Her grim thoughts were cut off by his last words and she couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm sorry about that as well...my temper hasn't gotten the better of my in quite some time, so I suppose I over reacted."

She snuggled close to him, enjoying the closeness of his body. She still didn't fully understand the feelings she had for him, but she thought that they might have to do with something like love.

---

Chronos was one who didn't understand feelings, but instead put them into two groups. Bad ones and good ones. And although when Akkomiakattar left in such a furious rush and he'd been hurt, he almost missed her company while she was gone and now that she returned...a piece of him had returned as well.

He felt her shiver and kept the note in mind. She didn't like to spend time thinking about it. He didn't blame her. If nightmares didn't keep him from dreaming, he'd sleep better and if sleep didn't keep him from being a zombie, he'd not sleep at all. Avoidance techniques worked the best, but they were only avoidance. Not technically dealing with the problem itself.

But oh well, it worked?

"Maybe you're going into season," he chuckled at the thought of wolven PMS.

---

The blue femme had hoped that Chronos didn't notice her tensing up, but she knew he would. They were much too close for something like that to go unnoticed. Thankfully though he didn't mention it and she was able to relax. The last thing she wanted to do was to get into another fight with him.

His next words had the potential to make that fight happen, but instead Akko just laughed and pushed at him with one of her paws. "And what if I am? Are you going to put up with me?" She shifted, moving so that she was lying more on top of him than next to him, looking down into his emerald eyes a smile still on her maw.

---

He flopped over onto his side, lifting a forepaw limply like an omega might begging for permission, though his tail was wagging. His grin showed the tips of his canine teeth, making him look roguish and demonic all at once and ears pricked forwards warmly.

And he realized something: this was truly the first time he'd woken up from a nightmare, not only peacefully, but not fleeing to the ocean.

Put up with her? She'd be the one having to put up with HIM! "Sure, why not. Though I think you'd be the one babysitting me... Males might not go through the physical symptoms, but hormonally, we're firecrackers," he chuckled dryly.

---

She couldn't help but laugh as he played at being submissive, her own tail wagging as well. She returned his grin, feeling butterflies flutter around her stomach when she saw his roguish look. Maybe she really was coming into season, how else could she explain the urges she was feeling?

Trying to ignore the strange new urges that the male was making her feel, she laughed at his next words. "Really?" She shuffled forwards until the top of her body was pinning down his own. Leaning down she buried her muzzle in his fur, glancing up at him as she spoke.

"Well, I know something that'll wear you out physically and hormonally." Right after she spoke the words she felt the heat rise to her face, completely embarrassed. She didn't know what prompted her to basically throw herself at the older wolf. But even so there was a flirtatious look in her eyes when she looked up at him her muzzle still buried in his fur, she couldn't help herself.

---

"Yes," he repeated, nibbling at her chin as she straddled him. His back legs were stretched out and his front paws pressed against the fur of her chest, relaxing there.

Chronos had been around two females in heat. The sensations that went through the male's body were insane, almost as if he were the one having the season! It had taken all of his will to run in the opposite direction and if he'd been any closer to them physically...well, let's just say he'd be a daddy.

Not that being a sire was something he didn't want; he did. He wanted puppies; a large litter, and he wanted them to have a life full of young memories that they could keep...

A brow raised at the sauciness in the femme's voice and the grin sparkling in her aqua eyes. Yes...she was definitely going into season with her moodswings... He couldn't keep in the laugh that sprang up, a sharp bark as he nipped at one ear. "Well, I like your idea, Akko, so don't get me wrong. But we should find a pack, first... You know. So the..er...babies don't get hurt..." It was his turn to be embarrassed. Perhaps a father wanna-be, but definitely not a father yet.

---

Akko couldn't help but feel a bit more embarrassed at his laughter. She'd never been around a male while in heat before and all these sensations were hard to control when she had a wolf who she could let them out on. She smiled as he nipped at her ears but then her smile turned into a frown as she was rejected, albeit for a good reason. But her hormones weren't letting her realize that it was a good reason. She pressed herself against him a sultry smile playing on her maw. "But Chronos...."

She rubbed her muzzle and head against his neck. "We could take care of them, find a safe spot in the forest." She shifted until she was just about lying on top of him. Blue eyes looking down into his green ones, suddenly they narrowed. "Or do you just not want me? Am I not good enough to be the mother of your pups?" Of course the fact that he said he liked the idea had gone right in one ear and out the other. Her muscles tensed ready to get up depending on his answer.

----

She was right... They could make their own home for them... He smiled at the thought of the pair of them raising four or five little youngsters in the forest. But...they needed pack. They needed pack to keep the pups alive... Damn hormones for swaying them!

And damn hormones for making Akkomiakattar into this...b***h. No pun intended, of course! "I-I-Of course I want you!" he said, falling limp underneath her, the tip of his tail just barely wagging. His ears flicked back as he licked at her chin, nosing it. This was not the time to play honest. It was the time to play his cards correct, to make Akko see the light in her own way...

"Akko, you'll be a great mom! Our puppies will be brilliant and loving and they'll all have their memories intact!" he exclaimed, grinning. "But...what if a lynx comes down? We can't protect four or five bouncing pups from a hungry feline, Akko... If we had pack, even if it was only temporary, until our puppies grew old enough to travel as well, we could make a fine family..."

He paused to think, a smile raising on his maw. Or perhaps...they could have the best of both worlds.

He knew an alpha of a pack NOT well suited to them...but SHE knew an alpha of a seaside pack that, by the smell of Chronos's wanderings, wasn't too far. Perhaps if they could work their way into Faile's heart... "What if..." He paused to consider this new idea before bulldozing on. "What if we had our fun now? We'll have the babies growing here," with a free paw, he nudged her belly. "And I know a wolf who knows of a pack we could join. And we could settle in there far before the pups are ever born!"

---

She glared down at him waiting for him to answer her, and he better have a good answer or else she was going to get up and her back paw was going to get a grip on something sensitive on her way up. When he did answer her she paused for a moment and then relaxed seeming to accept it. She even smiled as he licked and nosed at her chin. She closed her eyes her smiled widening as he complimented her. She couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the bit about the pups memories being intact. She was starting to soften up with all his talk about their puppies.

When he started talking about a lynx she scrunched up her nose and pulled her head back to look down at him. She was starting to feel swayed by his arguments but her hormones were making it hard for her to stay rational. She was just about to try and convince him once again that they didn't need a pack when he spoke. It took a moment for his words to sink in but when they did she grinned. Honestly, at the moment she didn't care about a pack or the pups. She just needed an outlet for all her pent up urges that she was suddenly feeling.

"I like the way you think, Chronos," She nuzzled against him, her whole body wriggling against his. "Now why don't we stop thinking and start acting" She grinned, nipping at the underneath of his jaw.

---

He grinned happily, having no idea what she was thinking inside that crazy lil' head of hers. But it probably was for the best. He didn't need his manparts scraped by claw. Manparts that were quickly getting excited about being used.

"Smart idea, beautiful," he purred, turning to the side and taking Akko with him as he leapt to his feet, tail wagging excitedly. His teeth nibbled at her neck, tongue lolling out of his mouth in a steady pant. He fell back into a playbow, watching her with grinning eyes. "Lead the way!"

---

The blue femme grinned at his words and as he turned she scrambled to get off him so she could stand up on her paws. She could smell him getting excited and that in turn excited her even more than she was. Her was in the air, curling over her back as it wagged, spreading her feminine scent throughout the den.

She laughed as he nibbled at her neck, feeling like a playful pup again even though she wasn't that far from it. Then she seemed to realize that Chronos was much older than her, almost old enough to be her father. And as suddenly as the urge to mate had hit her it left being replaced with a worry.

Stepping towards Chronos she leaned down, nudging him upwards until he was standing. She stared into his emerald green eyes nervous about what she was about to ask. "Chronos....you, you don't think I'm just some silly young thing that you're going to tire of when a younger femme comes along, do you?" Of course this was a completely irrational worry for her to have, he had already insisted that he wanted to have pups with her but she couldn't help it. He was so much older and experienced, even if he didn't remember, and she was just barely an adult.

---

Chronos jumped up on her back, forepaws sliding over her shoulders with ease before he hopped back off to n** at the tail that wagged. His paws moved up and down in silence as he watched her, getting himself ready with a squall of nervousness in his gut. Puppies... He was going to be a father... And their mother was beautiful...

At her words, he blinked. Did she expect him to tell her, 'Sure, I'm gonna use ya and then when I find a fancier tail, you'll be yesterday's news!'? He wasn't that kind of boy. That was Tabansi, who chased young tail and then lost interest when they grew to maturity. But Chronos?

"I'm...the kind of wolf who choses a mate to stay with her. Not to have a random fling, have a few pups, and to disappear forever. I like you alot, Akkomiakattar...and puppies or no puppies isn't gonna change that. I mean...you're the first wolfess to actually try and comfort me... Nightmares or not."

He placed a paw on her back and nuzzled her, nibbling an ear gently. "Just because you're in heat now doesn't mean I'm gonna leave you when the moment's left us. Hell...what if you never take. Or what if I'm sterile? You're the first wolf I've met -- and being a loner, I've met a few! -- who is actually...real to me."

---

She smiled a little as she felt his weight on her back , it almost made her forget her worries but then he jumped back off her again. She looked across at him and immediately felt stupid for ruining the moment. She stepped forwards to nuzzle him, about to tell him to forget about her question, that she didn't need to know. But then he spoke and she stopped her maw from moving.

When he said that he was going to stay with her no matter what she grinned, that's all the confirmation she needed. She knew she should be romantic given the situation, and she tried but now that she wasn't worried she was right back where they began. Nuzzling his neck she smiled at him. "I'm glad I'm real to you."

She nipped at his ears and when she pulled away she grinned. "Now, I thought I was going to wear you out" The grin turned flirtatious and she whirled around, lifted her tail, and looked over her shoulder at him as she exposed herself to him. But only after a second she yipped playfully at him and ran out of the den, trying to get him to chase after her tail wagging through the air.

---

It was the truth because, honestly, he didn't know how to lie correctly. If he didn't like her he would've let her know...in a nice way, of course! He liked to imagine himself a gentleman.

Well...he did, until she did THAT!

With her rump in the air and her tail flagging behind her like a kite, he rushed forwards to breathe in the aroma of her female-ness. With a yip, she took off running and barking once, he was after her like the hunter chasing the hare. There was a minor difference between the situations, however, and that was that the hunter got to have the hare to eat or whatever he planned to do to it...

Chronos would get himself a pretty little tail.

He lunged through the air, knocking into her once and nipping at her flank and the tail that whacked him in the face. The chase, the running -- it felt -beautiful- to his tight muscles. Of course, it'd hurt later... Everything would and they'd sleep together until the pain faded.

He skidded to a stop with a bark to watch her prance.

Things would work out fine. They'd find that pack and raise their family in their own den. And it would be wonderful.

---

If he hadn't of liked her Akko wasn't sure what she'd do, probably left the cave after attacking, she wasn't sure if it would have been verbal or physical. Luckily they avoided that situation so they would never know.

Hearing him bark and come after her, the sky blue femme grinned, glancing back at him. She barely knew what she was doing but she look her instincts take over. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she ran, and when he caught up to her and nipped at her flanks she laughed and jumped slightly.

When he stopped and barked at her she turned looking at him, still moving quickly, but now she was circling him. She grinned her circle tightening until she was nearly touching him, her tail running along his muzzle. She stopped her dance in front of him and after nipping at his neck gently she turned and presented herself to him again, tail in the air as she looked back at him watching to see if he'd take the bait and pounce on her

---

Chronos had never done this, he'd decided. Because, memory loss or not, this would trigger something. And the only thing it triggered was confusion. Sure, he'd had opportunity. What male didn't?! But this was the first he wanted to act upon.

And the first where she wanted him to act upon it.

So it was instinct, pure and simple.

They were the only wolves on the world at that moment, breathing in time with one another. As he rested between thrusts, his muzzle buried into her scruff. It might just be love, he decided, because for him, it wasn't just lust.

All good things came to an end. They had to, or else they'd no longer be good.

Even as he curled around her, one leg still hiked over her back, his muzzle dove under to nibble at her lips, tail giving one wag. She was right. He was exhausted. He offered her a sheepish grin. "So...are you staying at my place tonight?" It might be awkward, but he wasn't gonna let her get away from him.

---

Akko knew as she felt his final thrust, and her own body trembled in response their seed mixing together, that the moment was nearly over. A part of her wanted it to last forever but she knew it couldn't.

So she wasn't too upset as she felt him collapse on top of her. Not needing any extra urging she sunk down, lying in the sand a smile on her face as she felt him relaxing almost on top of her. She closed her eyes she could already feel the soreness creeping into her body but she didn't mind it at all.

Especially when he began to nibble at her lips. Laughing she nipped at his muzzle before licking it. Opening one eye she looked up at him and chuckled seeing his sheepish grin. There was a grin on her own face when she heard his question.

"Mmmm, can't we just stay here?" She snuggled back against him and she couldn't help but smile as she felt him inside her, still being tied together. She didn't want to leave, not now that they had shared such a special moment.

---

He stretched as much as he could, reveling in the feeling they were sharing. For him, it was less sexual and more of the fact that he was curled beside another wolf. One he'd not scared off with nightmares or talk of forgotten and lost memories. A wolf who seemed to want to help him.

And perhaps by helping him, he could help her. Rid her of the demons taunting her subconscious mind. And he'd wait until she brought it up.

"We can stay here as long as you like..." he murmured after a moment, surverying the boundaries. They were still in the nothinglands near the sea. So close, infact, that he could smell the salt in the air. He smiled to himself. "I've always wanted to be a father, you know..."

---

She smiled feeling him stretch against her, and she tilted her head back to nuzzle the underneath of his maw. She loved the fact that he was there for her to nuzzle, she was used to being alone; sleeping, eating, just being alone. It was a joy to have someone now, especially someone that wanted to be with her as well.

She smiled as he said they could stay. She was starting to process her feelings and she felt the need to express them. She paused as he spoke first. She smiled and nuzzled him again, but when she responded it most likely wasn't the response he was expecting. "I think I'm in love with you" Her blue eyes stared out in front of her, scared to look at him in case he had a bad reaction to her confession.

---

He watched her, interest piquing at her words, almost blurted out there.

"Well that's good," he said with a jovial laugh. Slowly, carefully, he chose his words. "But ask yourself this. Do you love me, or do you love being with another wolf?"

It was a question he was trying to figure out himself. On one side, he felt as if the world was flying when she was near him. Especially since he woke up with her at his side. Even though their relationship was moving faster than what he'd normally deem 'comfortable', he was okay with it. No. He was more than okay with it. He was pleased with it.

But on the otherside, perhaps it was just a lonewolf thing. Perhaps any wolf would make them feel this way. Perhaps it was the fact of being alone for so long and then given sudden companionship. He wasn't sure.

---

Hearing his laughter she frowned feeling young and silly, like he thought of her as some silly femme with a crush. Hearing his question she blinked and twisted her head to look at him, blue eyes confused. Slowly she lowered her head, resting it on the ground thinking about his words.

She was quiet for a long moment before she opened her maw to speak. "When I left I felt so horrible about what I said to you, I couldn't stop thinking about it- about you really. I've been with other wolves before, not like this of course" She hastily added the last bit when she realized that what she said could be misconstrued. "When I was younger, just after my first season I met this older wolf. His mate had died and he was alone without a pack. I had wanted to help him, to make him feel less lost and abandoned."

She paused for a moment, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to go this deep into her story but now that she had started she couldn't just stop. Sighing she continued on. "So I did, I stayed with him, and I talked to him. I would even share his den, sleeping next to him. After a couple weeks of this he came to, he told me...." She stopped again closing her eyes, this is where the hard part came. "He told me he was feeling great, and that it was all because of me and that he loved me. I didn't love him, I wasn't even fully grown, just barely able to bear pups. I had only wanted to help him, to make him less sad and lonely and I did that. I told him I didn't love him and that I was going to leave the next day since he was feeling better. I didn't think it would be such a big deal, I was a stupid, silly girl." The femme shook her head, but her story wasn't over yet.

"The next day I woke up and he wasn't curled up around me like he usually was," As she told her story she didn't realize that there was a softness in her voice when she spoke of the old wolf that Chronos might be jealous of. "I wasn't too worried, he would sometimes go off and go hunting before I woke up, but since it was my last day with him I followed his scent wanting to say my good byes before I left." She stopped pressing back against Chronos, needing to feel his warmth around her, this next bit was painful. "I never did get to say good bye. I followed his scent to a nearby canyon and when I looked down into it I could see his body lying across the rocks, battered and broken."

She shook trying to keep her emotions inside, she had never told anyone this story before. "I had rejected him and so the old wolf, not being able to take any more heart break after losing his mate and then me threw himself off the cliff." She was silent for a long moment, breathing slowly, and suddenly she remembered the point she was trying to get across by telling her story.

"So, I've been with other wolves and I'm pretty sure that's not what I'm in love with. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you, Chronos" She snuggled her head underneath his maw, closing her blue eyes.

---

Chronos listened quietly, watching her the entire time she talked, her voice soft, almost passionate as she spoke of this older wolf.

He had to bite his tongue several times to keep himself from righting her -- to tell her that she wasn't stupid, but young and naive, though that wasn't much better...

He wanted to tell her that perhaps the wolf hadn't thrown himself from the cliff. That maybe he'd slipped, maybe he'd been pushed. That it wasn't her.

Even if it was.

He wanted to lick her mind clean of what she'd been through...

Through her story, he'd slipped free from her, though he'd never moved away. Instead, he shuffled closer, resting his head on her paw.

She loved him...

It was a giddy feeling, a feeling that cut through the sad fog that lay around them.

But he had the feeling that this story wasn't the only secret the female had. No... There was a reason she was alone so young.

He smiled, licking her muzzle and stretching out completely. "I'm glad...that you love me, I mean. I don't know what love feels like, exactly, but if we could put our feelings side-by-side, I'd say they're pretty damn close? My Akkomiakattar..."

As she told her story Akko seemed to forget that Chronos was there, she was so wrapped up in reliving the time she spent with the older wolf. The only thing that showed she knew he was still there was when she snuggled up against him during her pauses.

She barely noticed that their tie had broken and that he'd slipped free from her. She did notice him curling closer around her. The femme couldn't help but smile as she shifted her head until it was lying next to his. Her blue eyes closed and she was surprised that she actually felt better after telling that story, he seemed to still want to be with her even though she had cause another wolf to throw himself off a cliff. Maybe she could tell Chronos the rest of her secrets....no, no there were some secrets that needed to stay secret.

Feeling him lick her muzzle she glanced over at the male and smiled, nuzzling him. She felt her heart swoon when he called her his, she enjoyed the feeling of belonging to him. She was his and he was hers, at least she considered him hers. "I suppose that means you love me as well," She smiled and fought a losing battle to suppress a yawn, her maw opening wide and her tongue curling as she yawned. "Chronos, love, I think I need to get some sleep" She snuggled back against him getting comfortable before closing her eyes, tired after their....play time.

He wasn't sure if this feeling was love... He wasn't sure what he was feeling...but it was better than he'd ever felt before. As if he'd sprouted wings and could scale the clouds and fly free with her at his side.

It had to be love, he decided, but he needed a sign. A reason to have to fight for the feeling to continue... Perhaps he'd show her if another male came along. What if he was stronger, though? What if Akko wanted strength?

He shook the worries from his head as she yawned, the feeling too much for him to bear as he expressed his own tired smile.

Play time, indeed... And soon? There would be puppies at her gut, looking for milk as he hunted to feed her. His mate? If not mate, definitely girlfriend...

"Agreed," he murmured, settling in and sighing.

He had a good feeling that he'd not have a nightmare this time.
