[The One Faithful]

The Newfame family, which, for those of you who haven't been paying attention. Is Draega's prestigious and often ruthless family. However Draega, a UH rebel who is kind, calm, and generally introverted is the exception to the family rule. So I thought it might be best if we delved into some of her other more...Influential...family members.

Barrick Newfame : Although he's only been mentioned recently Barrick Newfame is Draega's uncle, and brother to her father Dane Newfame. A business man through and through Barrick has always had a talent for coming out with a profit, no matter how grim the situation. As the youngest of the two brothers Barrick was never expected to outshine his elder brother Dane, however Barrick did so anyway, just to prove to his older brother that his inheritance wasn't as secure as he thought. Although HEC may be run by one man, Barrick has made sure that the board of trustees has a say in every decision the company makes, and as it's spokesman, he makes sure the public knows just how much he and the rest of HEC are needed.

Dane Newfame : Draega's father, who , again, has only really come up just recently, is in fact a leading politician and lawyer. However, unlike his brother, Dane never really had to work hard for the positions he now holds. Dane's only true talent is memorization and lying, though he is also very good at using the name his forebears established to get what he wants. After his younger brother made it quite clear where he stood on the family food chain Dane became withdrawn and angry, often prone to fits of violence and anger, though never anywhere near the public eye. Draega's birth, to him, was like adding insult to injury, which was one of the reasons why he repeatedly 'punished her' by torturing her...both physically and mentally. Just one of the many reasons why Draega has grown to despise her family and the HEC.

Eden Newfame : Although she is only a member of the Newfame family by marriage Eden, Draega's mother, is as much a member of the family as anyone else. Already the daughter of a prestigious and well-known family herself Eden's marriage to Dane was purely for political and business reasons. This has not, however, seemed to have put a dent in their relationship however as love never meant a thing to either one of them. Although she once worked as a secretary Eden has long since retired in order to 'rear her household'. Her first and third children, Glory and Vemner are viewed as examples of the 'pure' Newfame blood. However, Draega, her middle child, is viewed as not only a black sheep, but as her one and only failure. Because of this Eden has refused any contact with her second child at all, only supporting a cold relationship with her for appearances sake.

Richard Kendrick Newfame :

The person who can be considered the true lineage marker for the Newfame family's rise to power Richard Kendrick Newfame is the grandfather and ideal role model for both Barrick and Dane Newfame. Richard started out his life living as an ordinary business man until one day he suddenly seemed to have everything going for him. He bought into the right stocks, he purchased the right property at exactly the right time...everything. It was as if his new-found riches were pre-ordained by some secret order.

Which it was. Unknown to most Richard Newfame never was an 'ordinary' business man. Alright sure, that's how things might have been in the beginning. However, after meeting one Nickolas Basilica, Richard's life was changed forever. Nick Basilica, his wife Jacklin, and their twin children Charlotte and Charles became Richard's fast friends. To the point where Nick found he could not keep his secret double-life from his good friend.

So one day Nickolas introduced Richard to the secret underground organization he ran...the United Global Forces. Swept up in it all, and the ideal the organization stood for Richard begged Nickolas to let him join as a member. Nick agreed and Richard became their informant on the business world. Even after Richard met and married his wife Agatha, and gave birth to quite a healthy family of five he continued to work secretly for Nick and his underground force.

Even after Nick retired and handed down his position as leader to another Richard never broke ties with the United Global Forces...the two continuing to aide each other well into the future...until the day that the company H.E.C. started to make it's move. Urged by the signs, and the United Global Forces themselves Richard made sure that his corporation was the first to sign a merger with the growing global power...forever earning his family a spot of near royalty amongst the H.E.C.'s ranks., though Richard retired from business soon after to pass the title off to his oldest daughter Selia.

In retirement Richard rekindled his friendship with Nick Basilica and together the two celebrated as Nick's son Charles and then his youngest daughter Yvonne married Richard's eldest daughter Selia, and his middle child Vedrick. With high hopes for the future Richard lived the rest of his life as peacefully as he could.

And although Richard Kendrick Newfame died sometime before the Earth was destroyed he had already passed on his legacy to his middle son Vedrick, hoping that the good luck he and the United Global Forces had received while working as partners would somehow flow into his future generations.
