Yaoi is just guy on guy romance with all the frustrating- time wasting things in other romances cut out (ussualy) i mean seriously, who wants to watch two main characters in a romance dance around each other for (if anime) a whole season? or (if manga) seven or eight books? it doesnt make sense to me... rolleyes

I agree that its not very hard to understand. Its just like shojo except with males instead of male and female. And some people find it adorable.

Err... Do you really know what shoujo is?
If you mean shoujo-ai, then it's girl on girl, not girl and guy
If you mean shoujo, it's girl-oriented stories, which have romance as a strong point but can also have other things (like Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Kare Kano...) and the opposite isn't yaoi/shonen-ai, but shonen, the genre which is mostly geared for males and thus has a lot more action and violence going (Yugioh, Orphen, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Captain Tsubasa, b*****d...)
