After meeting with Chunuka, Noki had managed to find her way back to her cubhood home where she and her siblings (well, most of them) had agreed to meet. So far all the sisters who would arrive had, Pepo was the only one that they waited for now- and Noki was getting quite anxious. There were so many of them, and after attempts to stick near the borders to wait.. of course they were being sent out in greater intervals. But with six of them, that meant over a month just to get everybody here.
Moyo, Siyara and Kichea were off wandering by themselves that afternoon- but Noki figured someone should be around in case Pepo showed up, to watch out for him. So she had stayed, relaxing on a rock and keeping her eyes open. If her figuring of the time was right, Pepo would arrive any day now- and she had started figuring that a couple nights earlier.
While she was on her own, though, she put some thought into the whole naming thing. She had no idea how she was supposed to figure it out, what would happen that would suddenly make it all make sense. And she felt a bit guilty, knowing they were supposed to do this on their own and they were meeting up like this. But they had to be able to find each other, right? They were all the family they had. Right?

The white and purple lion's brain spun as he moved, set out on a mission by the great queen; find a name. What if he didn't know what to find? What if there wasn't a name out there that he liked? He knew he was no longer little baby Pepo, no longer Ama's boy or Gharadi's boy, he was someone new, someone fresh. Mtima'safi had created this for him, as he headed to the agreed meeting place he worried, musing if the girls would still be waiting after so long, if they would stick to the plan, or hear the calling that some spoke of, the calling to create and claim a name for themselves.
The revealing knowledge he held made him also question it's validity, but of course Pepo was a blind believer, and the magnificent Goddess had spoken to him...their grandmother, and there was an easy way to validate, find Wahabu, find their real father, and what of the mother that left him? The lion didn't realize that his quick trot had turned into an all out run towards the childhood dwelling, and in his thoughts he nearly passed Noki where she relaxed.

Slightly dazed, thinking through everything that had happened in her life and everything that had yet to happen, she didn't see Pepo right away either. She worried about if this was the right way to be doing this, if it was cheating somehow. A meeting place couldn't hurt anything, they could still be individuals and occasionally check in with each other. And then there was Shemshi, the one sure sibling to be doing it the expected, proper way. She just had to hope she was one of the ones who came back.
Very suddenly, the pale lion she'd been watching for became very, very apparent.
"Pepo!" she cried, jumping up almost immediately. He was here, finally- that made all of them, except Shemshi. She felt a great and unexpected relief, realizing she'd been more anxious about all of this than she'd known. "You made it, Pepo, you're here!" Noki jumped down from her perch and scrambled to her brother.

He nearly jumped out of his skin as he was pulled from his thoughts. "Noki!" the pale lion exclaimed, stopping his trot and turning. "Is everyone here?" including our missing sister, he couldn't bare saying it so he just left it there, hoping Noki would know.
"Have you, you know found a name?" he blurted it out before thinking it could be rude to ask, the thought was a legit one, what if all of his sisters had their new names and he was the one left behind yet again.
What to start with, Wahabu? Amadet being a liar, their father not their father where should he start?

Noki wasted no time in running right into Pepo and nuzzling him affectionately. There were six of them, it'd been a month and a half to get to this point.. all of them out there. Cheating or not, she was happy to see him. She stepped back after a moment, smiling at him.
"Everyone is here," she said, nodding. Then she hesitated a moment, remembering the Shemshi was not and should be included in everybody, "Shemshi isn't, we've all wandered away a bit but we haven't seen her. We don't know where she could be."
She was startled by the naming question, and immediately looked a bit worried by the question. Either he was as confused and nervous as she was about the whole situation, or he had already figured his out- and he'd only just left. It had to be the former, right? He couldn't have figured it out.
"N-no," she shook her head, "Have you found your name?"

Pepo was relieved that his sister was just as glad to see him and he savored her touch, so used to sleeping beside five other forms and then being on his own made him realize his need for the girls. What would happen when they all grew and had families, would they stay close? All come back and love one another just as much? The month and a half away made him think more and more about how life would be without them and what if only one or two returned?
He nodded to the information about Shemshi, but felt confident the grandmother would find their lost sibling. Letting out a long sigh he smiled as she said she'd not found her name. He rather liked the name Noki anywho.
"I haven't found my name, but I've found something greater, something you wouldn't believe." He raised his paw and gently knocked the odd feather from his mane. It was obviously not a bird feather, too large in size, he watched it flutter to the ground.
"We have a lot more family than you'd think. Amadet was our mother but...the lion you know as our father isn't." He stopped waiting for that statement to sink in.

Occasionally, Noki herself worried about the same things Pepo was worrying about. She tried not to let it bother her, though. They would find names, one by one, and go back home.. all of them. She had to believe that much, none of them would just abandon all the others. Their father had a new family, but they had each other. She sighed, smiling at Pepo and just enjoying the fact that this meant they were all out. They were all together again, no matter how short lived it would be as they found names. But then at home, they would be alright.
She tilted her head when he said he'd found something greater, not sure what to expect. Her mind immediately went to new friends, to love.. it was hard to imagine it could be anything else if not a name, where that was the main focus of their lives right now.
"More family?" she repeated dumbly, her eyes on the feather on the ground and saying nothing else when he said their father was not their father. She only waited for an explanation.

He wasn't one for suspense, but Mtima had been such a shock that he wanted to make sure he didn't just lay the news on her forcing her not to believe him. The pale lion smiled slightly, none of the pride felt like family than well, family and being in one sister's presence was almost as good as all of theirs.
"That feather belongs to a lion, her name is Mtima'safi...she's like the God back home, the lady of the Swamps!" he was getting excited, "Mtima is our grandmother from our father's side. It seems that our mother was wicked and tricked our real father into having his cubs to get back at her..and the father we know isn't really our father, that could explain why he so easily took a new mate!" He paused in his story to take in her reaction to the news. He wanted to tell her that Mtima was now looking for their lost sister.

He met a goddess, a goddess like the one from their pride, from their home.. her orange eyes moved back to Pepo's face when he said this, noticing the excitement in his voice and feeling uncertain though somewhat comforted by his excitement. At least he wasn't so upset by all of this. "Grandmother?" she repeated, stunned to imagine they might have a divinity in the family. If she was their paternal grandmother, her son was their father.. she might have expected him to be a god as well was she not so certain that she and her siblings were most definitely not gods.
She tried to wrap her mind around the suddenness of what Pepo said about their mother, and how easily he said it. Absently, she took a small step back and looked as confused as she felt.
"What do you mean? That doesn't make sense, mother is not- was not-"
Noki cut herself off, not even sure if she could honestly say any of that anymore. Her mother had left so long ago, and still had not come back. Could they honestly say they knew anything about her?
"Daddy isn't.. he's not.." she hesitated, "So he didn't really betray anybody. But why would he lie to us? Why would he give us that consideration but then just seem to drop us for his new family? Where is our real father?"

Wrinkling his brow Pepo took in all of the questions, he was silly to accept something so willingly from a Goddess he realized, but something in his Grand-- the female's voice was convincing enough.
"Perhaps dad was protecting us, if Mama could trick our real father into conceiving us than she may have easily asked the lion we know as father to take care of us." He shook his head trying to make sense, it had made perfect sense to him before, everything fell in place and she had offered to find their lost sister.
"It..could we at least look into this?"

Noki wasn't so sure what to think. She wanted to cling to what Pepo said, use it as an excuse to justify her growing dislike for her mother and father-- Amadet and Gharadi-- for what they had done. Amadet had left and she couldn't continue rationalizing it, she was supposed to come back, that's what they'd always thought, always hoped. And Gharadi, he'd started a new family and she felt abandoned- they all felt it on some level- perhaps even moreso than when Amadet left.
But she knew that was ridiculous! Their mother a vengeful trickster, their father either deceived or deceitful.. then a divine grandmother and an oblivious biological father..
"I-it-" she stammered, trying to find words but speechless. She managed finally to nod. If Pepo was willing to believe it, willing to at least see if it was true.. then it was OK for her to want to know, for her to want to check..
"Do you know where to find him?"

He'd loved Amadet like a son will always love his mother and the thought of her being so malevolent left an awful taste in his mouth, but he didn't see it any other way. What else would explain why she left and hadn't returned? She loved him, she said so, his adult brain rationalized their love like a child, she was mommy...but if their was another family out there? A father who would resemble them more than Gharadi? A grandmother as well? Then the siblings wouldn't be so alone in the world, they might even find their names on this quest.
"I know he is North of the Swamps in the Pride Lands, that's what the goddess said," he paused musing it over, yes those facts were correct," I know I am taking a look."

She perked up unexpectedly when Pepo mentioned the Pridelands. So- at least that part of the story was real. She knew it was a real pride, and that it was very likely to be friendly because Chunuka was from it. She had considered going to check it out once everybody met up.
"I know that pride," she said, "I- I met someone while wandering around here. He was from the Pridelands, he said which way it was- it's a couple days from here. It sounded nice, I think we'd be safe if we wanted to check it out so it's not a trick as far as that is.."

Pepo's orange eyes brightened, he'd found the sisters, and now he was going to find a long lost father! "I am glad you'll come, do you think the others will believe me? I know it seems so ridiculous and a trick..maybe a trap, but everyone's always been up for adventure, we were raised to seek it weren't we?"
He nearly fell over in relief that he wouldn't have to go alone, and realized he didn't know when he decided that he would actually go and meet Wahabu, before it seemed like something up to the group, and now he was actually making plans! "To be honest, I hope that our real father wonderful and accepts us...even though we are grown I feel it will heal apart of me," a blush rose through his pale fur at being so sentimental about someone that he had never met.

"Even if they don't believe it, we should check it out," she said quietly, daring to hope they had an explanation for everybody's behavior towards them. A father, a grandmother.. another chance at family who didn't just abandon them..! It was tempting, it was hopeful.. it was almost too good to be true.
"There are six of us," Noki said mistakenly, "We can be safe."
She paused, realizing her miscount and suddenly remembering Shemshi. Looking immediately alarmed, she looked around as if their lost sister might suddenly appear.
"Shemshi! What about Shemshi?"
