[This RP took place over AIM but I figured I'd post it anyway for RP logging sake]

Mau11:53:10
It was almost nighttime as Seiji made his way across the edge of the HQ's gardens. He moved silently, watching his steps carefully so as not to make any noise as he passed across the paths. After a quick glance towards the setting sun, he turned towards the east - away from the blinding light [setting sun = ouch]. Trees marked the edge of the gardens and he headed towards them. It was a long walk, but finally he reached the trees and nestled in the branches of one and drew his sword to clean it.

Me11:54:16
The Valkyrie's wings were tucked neatly against her sides as she made her way in the direction of the HQ. Even though flying would be much more convenient walking required less energy. Her sword swung rather loosely against her thigh, but was secured with the help of her belt. She didn't step slowly or carefully--there was simply no need. With all that heavy armor it would just waste unnecessary energy. So as she made her way past the HQ her nose tingled with a familiar scent. Oh, yes, it was that same strange warrior she met many moons ago.

Mau12:04:29
He paused slightly, his ears flicking. In the distance he could hear metal against metal; the sound of company? Company.. or an enemy. Although he knew of no enemy that would give themselves away by tramping through the grass so loudly. His brow furrowed as he twisted his head to listen more. After a few moments, the other's scent reached him. The fact that it was a somewhat familiar scent reassured him - even if he couldn't place the scent.

Me12:08:13
She could never really forget the scent of anyone. He smelled of metal, mostly, but there were other less powerful smells he gave off as well--ones she couldn't quite figure out. It was a peculiar smell, almost matching his peculiar personality. Really, when they first met she could've killed him and he waited until the last moment to draw his sword. What a fool, she thought. Even if she had no original intention of meeting up with him again, it must be some twisted fate that they do again. Might as well make the best of it.

12:27:30
Seiji swayed on his branch, attempting to peer at the kitsu coming towards him. His eyesight was keen and he soon spotted her. Strangely, he didn't know whether to be relieved.. or even more concerned.

Me12:29:59
Her ear flickered at the sound of the moving branch. Even had he not moved she could've smelled him still. The scent of metal was strong and she knew it well. Canting a head in his direction as she approached, he sort of blended in with the surroundings. He had mostly greens and earthy-kind of colors, but not too similar. Plus his blond hair stuck out rather clearly. "So we meet again," She called out to him.

Mau12:34:40
He had know she would find him; and he had an idea that escape would be futile. As she greeted him, he left his branch and made his way to the ground - bowing his head to her lightly as he landed. "Most others don't come this far out."

Me12:36:34
She could only smirk inwardly at his response. Originally she didn't plan on coming this far out, but his scent caught her curiosity. Had any other more interesting Kitsus were around she would've surely went the other way. "The same could be said of you," she replied coolly.

Mau12:39:14
"It is peaceful out here. What brings you so far?" He maintained his distance from her, for he still wasn't sure of her motives. To most, however, there was no great amount of distance between them.

Me12:41:28
His words were true, it was very peaceful out in this area. It usually was, anyway. The last time she could remember a fight breaking out wasn't even near here. It was just outside her home, actually. "I caught you scent in the air. I was curious as to what you were doing so far out here." This time she wasn't looking for a sparring partner, if she was she would've asked long ago. She wasn't the hesitant type.

Mau1:00:59
An eyebrow quirked at the tone of her voice. What was she thinking about? Her face was impassive, almost as much so as his own. "I came to clean my sword, and enjoy the night. It is best to sit in the trees, for you have the advantage of seeing everything around you."

Me1:03:54
Unless it were feelings of anger she would not be so quick as to show it to a stranger. Though under these circumstances they weren't really strangers now, were they? Having met twice already--that's certainly a feat rather unheard of back in her world. "Cleaning your sword at night? Would it not be best to clean it during the day when you are better able to see? Seeing everything? What more is there to see except trees and the occational stranger?"

Mau1:05:59
"It is the occasional stranger that I am worried about. As for the sword, there is still light to be had." His gaze slide towards the sunset, which was still giving a faint bit of light.

Me1:09:17
"What is there to worry about? Many of the inhabitants of this world are peaceful. Only very rarely will one with ill-will stagger in, and even then the extent of their ill-will tends to be dealt with rather quickly." Her gaze turned from his briefly to catch the faint light, her eyes squinting lightly at the sudden change. "The light is very faint, but I suppose if you are not planning on meticulously cleaning very spot then you shall be fine," she added once she faced him again--this time with a hint of a grin.

Mau1:12:15
Seiji's fur ruffled slightly at this. "My sword is spotless. I clean it daily." Remembering his manners, he dipped his head, and offered her a small wry smile. "I do not worry about enemies. It is the female of our race that I take refuge from. They.. I.. do not know how to talk to them."

Me1:16:10
Her brow raised at his rather...unexpected response. Was he serious? HE was afraid of interacting with females? This had to be a joke or some sort. What kind of warrior was he if he hesitated to be around females? Oh boy, she could only imagine the types of crude jokes being made around this topic. If she were the type to throw insults so easily, no doubts she certainly would've jumped at this opportunity. "You? Afraid of females?" She suppressed any laughter as best she could, though the widening of her maw was giving it away.

Mau1:18:31
She was laughing at him. Again, he bristled slightly. "I am not afraid of females. They have a tendency to treat me oddly."

Me1:21:05
One couldn't help but laugh. Unless they were the really considerate type--which she obviously was not. "Oddly? If you could be so kind as to elaborate, that would prove helpful." Whatever the issue was, Lenneth was certain there was a way to help...after all he was talking to her right now. Though she wasn't very...feminine, she was still a female.

Mau1:23:13
He sighed. "Most females I have met outside my family seem to think they can claim me as their own property.. or that I would mate with them without knowing them."

Me1:26:45
The suppressed laughter from before only built up to explode. She had never heard such a funny life-story in her life! Were he a price, royalty or someone super special she would not think it odd for such events to happen. But he certainly didn't seem like royalty or someone who was that special for random females to claim a right at him. "I must apologize," she said when her laughter stopped, "I should not laugh at your problem, however I just found it rather strange for such events to happen to you. Are you royalty? Or perhaps someone holding something special in which your the continuation of your genes would prove useful to the rest of the world?"

Mau1:34:34
"I am not royalty, nor do I know why they act the way they do. I do not lie." He scowled. "Among my friends, they always seek me out... "

Me1:36:53
"I am not implying that you lie, simply that the story sounded rather far-fetched. I do not believe you would lie, even if the story sounds ridiculous." She gave a firm nod, carrying a serious expression on her face when she said it. He didn't seem the type to lie. "However, if you look at the grand scheme of things you are speaking to a female right now."

Mau1:38:08
"I am well aware that you are female. However, you have not proposed to me yet, so I believe I am safe." He offered her a small smile.

Me1:39:42
"Propose to you?" She almost laughed at her words and at the thought. "I do not think I will propose to you even if I were in love with you. It would not be proper for a female to do so, and I would think you share the same views."

Mau1:41:48
He nodded agreement with her. "It is more traditional for the male to offer, not the female."

Me1:44:22
There were some traditions she was obligated to keep even if her role in most cultures were a far-cry from "traditional". A woman on the battlefield? It was almost unheard of. Let alone a single woman gathering an army and training them all on her own. "Though I must admit I am not the fitting image of traditional." She smirked a little at the thought of how untraditional she must seem to most.

Mau1:47:03
"... Yes, that is true. Women are not traditionally warriors." He glanced over her armor and sword. "But for some it works.."

Me1:49:26
Well, she wasn't really entirely what he thought of her. She was technically a creation of Lord Odin, though technical details mattered little in this. "Indeed it does." It was enjoyable, at the least, being the way she was and who she was. She had a great deal of freedom which she would otherwise not know.

Mau1:51:38
"I have seen enough strange things in my lifetime that you do not surprise me."

Me1:53:23
She had seen some rather strange things in her life-time as well. Most of them were a direct result of mortals, but some even the Gods created. "You are nothing new either. Male and female warriors alike wandered my world. Though your story...was a bit strange and new."

Mau1:55:07
"You know nothing of my past. There were many strange things there." He was not disagreeing with her; based on her behavior he believed she had seen many strange things just the same as him.

Me1:58:31
"The same can be said for the both of us. I have no doubts both of us saw many strange things. I for one had an encounter with a mad scientist bent on 'owning' myself. His ambitions sent so far as to distort the very world I roamed. So much so even my sisters were involved." She added quickly. It was sort of strange how she mentioned so much to him despite this being their second meeting. But it was good that she was comfortable sharing this with another.

Mau2:00:34
Such strange stories she had to tell.. and that was probably not the worse of them. "My friends and I fought against a demon (not sure if Arago would be considered a demon or what? XD) who wanted to take over my previous world.."

Me2:04:15
Demons were every day occurrences in her world. The first warrior she sought after was almost killed by a human transformed into a demon. "Demons of all kinds roamed the human world often. The undead lord holds my younger sister captive in his domain after some events involving that human wizard I spoke of just now." Her face was rather calm on the outside, but anger boiled within her for both of those she spoke of.

Mau2:23:59
To him, demons had been characters in stories, used to scare children into behaving. They had not been living, breathing beings until Arago had broken through the barrier between himself and the human world.. and found himself thwarted by five boys. "Your sister is held captive?" He could not think of his youngest sister being held captive.

Me2:28:18
All sorts of creatures lived in her world. Demons, humans, undead, Gods, etc etc. The list was general, but if even more specific the list would surely take a while to complete. "Yes." She simply replied. It was a rather long and complicated chain of events, and even now she wasn't too sure on how exactly it all happened as it all happened in what seemed to be a blink of an eye. "But it is not my duty to rescue her. Even if she is my sister, I still have higher priorities to follow. She was also rebelling against our Lord's wishes, thus freeing her would not be the wisest of decisions." It was hard for her to say so. Even if she was dutiful, she still cared for her sister.

Mau2:29:29
His eyebrow quirked at her words. They were strange words to him; he held family above all else. "If my sister was being held, nothing would stop me from saving her."

Me2:32:43
It wasn't as easy as he thought. Even if she wanted to she couldn't just simply disobey orders and go off to rescue her sister. Their lord was a God; someone with enough power to terminate their existence entirely from their world. She bit her lip lightly at the thought before continuing, "Even if I were able to rescue her without our lord finding out, infiltrating the Lord of the Undead's realm even for someone such as myself would prove difficult."

Mau2:34:14
"Your lord?" In Seiji's world, gods were not such visible beings. He watched her reactions carefully, but kept his silence to let her speak more.

Me2:37:09
She nodded, "Our lord: Odin. He created us, and we serve directly under him. We are choosers of the slain. We gather warriors of the dead for him for his army. She was actually working under him before myself, but then she started rebelling against him. With her capture my place in line was next." She answered with sadness in her voice. It was good to serve under him--to fulfil her purpose to him, but not at the expense of her sister.

Mau2:38:37
"I see. That does make it more complicated to save your sister. I have heard of Odin, but only small pieces."

Me2:41:05
"He is the ruler of Asgard; the place where the Gods dwell. We, the Valkyries serve under him and search for slain soldiers to gather for his army for Ragnarok: the end of the world. There are others besides my sisters and myself, though my youngest happened to serve the land of men before me."

Mau2:42:09
"The end of the world?" He had not heard of such a thing - and it worried him.

Me2:45:55
She nodded then continued, "Yes, the end of the world. It is foretold in a prophecy. How exactly it will unfold is unknown, but we do know it will involve many major and minor figures of all kinds, thus Odin's army. But worry not, it shall not happen soon. I do believe we will be fed signs once it starts or draws near. At the very least, some sort of message will be relayed to me--most likely to call me back to my lord's side."

Mau2:47:11
"And you are gathering warriors for the cause?" That explained her interest in seeing him fight the last time they had seen each other.

Me2:48:11
She didn't quite understand why he asked. Her duties were clearly defined. What more was there to add? "Yes. What else am I supposed to do?"

Mau2:48:44
"That is odd. And it must be a lonely existence, to wander the earth searching for dead warriors."

Me2:51:01
She didn't see what was so odd about it. Then again she had this duty placed upon her since the exile of her younger sister. It was one of the only things she knew about her existence. "You meet something worthwhile on occasion. But now I am here instead. I have yet to find a soul to send up, though." She wasn't sure if this was a good or bad thing.

Mau2:52:24
"You have not met any souls?" He glanced around, then gave an understanding nod. "There is not so much war here - you are not likely to find souls of warriors."

Me2:54:22
She enjoyed the peace most of the time, but it was boring sometimes. The lack of souls in this place is probably both a blessing and a curse in disguise. "Yes, which makes me wonder why Lord Odin sent me here. It is good, however, that is is peaceful here most of the time."

Mau2:57:29
"It will be a break for you.. won't he call you back, though? When he finds out there are no souls here?" Seiji could not get enough of the peace that existed in this land.

Me2:59:23
"I am unsure of that myself. He has yet to call me back...And all my reports I have sent in have yet to receive replies." The thought of her being exiled crossed her mind a few times, but thinking through the events before she was sent here wouldn't add up to an exile.

Mau3:00:30
"A bit strange, don't you think?" If souls were needed, why would she have been sent to a peaceful land? It did not make much sense to him.

Me3:02:29
"It is strange. But I do not mind usually, it is rather enjoyable here." She couldn't really think of a reason why as to her reason being her still if there were no souls to collect. Though questioning too much may end up getting her in trouble. It was best not to dwell on the thought too long.

Mau3:05:28
He chuckled lightly. Obviously, if she had a mate and children, she enjoyed this world quite a bit. "You have had a mate and children - that is a great source of happiness."

Me3:08:56
Well, her mate was a thing of the past. Though her child did provide a great source of happiness to her regardless--well, most of the time. "That much is true. But my mate is a thing of the past now. We are no longer mates, and I have yet to see him since our last, brief meeting with our children." She sighed. Even though she knew they were in good hands, she still wished she could see them.

Mau3:10:54
"I am sorry for bringing up a sad memory for you."

Me3:12:18
"It is quite alright. You did not know. They are in good hands, that is enough for me to know." She smiled faintly. At the least, her son was well taken care of living with her.

Mau3:12:46
"You do not see most of your children? Just the one that you mentioned before?"

Me3:14:02
"I have not seen my other two children since I last saw my previous mate. My middle child is the one living with me. He is the only one I see often." She answered sadly.

Mau3:14:55
"That is not very fair to you or your children. I think that it is not your fault, though, that this has happened?"

Me3:17:34
"No, it is not fair, but it is something not within my control. If I knew where they were I would make regular visits. As the mother it is partly my fault to blame. But I do not know the circumstances surrounding their households. All that I really need to know is that they are in safe, capable hands-- that alone is enough for me."

Mau3:18:24
He paused.. She did not know where her children were? That was quite odd.. "At least they are safe."

Me3:20:36
She never really remember to ask her previous mate where they were living at the time. Whenever she met with him other thoughts filled her mind. A very important one escaped her mind, and that starts the list of her side of the blame. "Yes. In the end that is all that really matters. And I have Sigurd, so it is not as if I do not see -any- of them."

Mau3:21:49
"He is the one you are passing your skill with the blade to, correct?"

Me3:23:38
"Yes. I would not pass it to anyone else but my children. Any skills the other two have learned are taught by someone else and is out of my hands entirely."

Mau3:25:17
"But your knowledge will not die if it is passed down. That is good." It was dark now, and Seiji could see stars appearing. He was not normally a late-night person, preferring to greet the dawn. However, for some reason, he was not in a hurry to leave.

Me3:28:42
"I suppose. At least the knowledge is in safe hands as well. What with Sigurd and his morals," she chuckled lightly. Lenneth didn't notice how quickly the time passed by. The sky was almost ready to twinkle with starlight in its open patches. She wasn't in a hurry to leave, but it was probably best not to stay out too late to cause concern for her son. Even though they both knew she was more than capable of caring for herself, he had his right to worrying about her.

Mau3:32:01
Seiji muffled a yawn behind one paw. As was his normal routine, he had been up well ahead of the sun rising, and it was starting to have its effect. "It is getting late. Although this is a peaceful land, the nightmares do tend to come out at night.. It may not be safe for you to stay here."

Me3:34:12
Lenneth was rather accustomed to little nights of sleep, however, she would not want to cause her son to worry about her. "Heh, I am more than capable of defending myself. Though I will take your advice and take my leave. Sigurd will worry if I stay out much longer. It was a pleasure seeing you again." She gave a soft nod before heading off in the direction of her home.

Mau3:35:21
Frowning, Seiji watched her go before retreating to his branch of the tree. Had she not left so quickly, he would have offered to go with her. Nightmares were dangerous and best taken on in groups.
