Tifa + Cloud = Zell
Now, before everyone gets their panties in a twist let me clarify myself before the debate begins.
The evidence to suggest that Zell may be the child (or at least part of the line) or Tifa and Cloud.
1. The Limit Breaks and fighting style that match Tifa's
ex: "My" Final Heaven
2. Blond Hair, Blue Eyes - You could easily make the argument that Q has those features but I think his looks hold weight when taken into consideration along the other facts
3. When inside Zell's house early in the game - there is a point when you are allowed into his room to look at a picture and Zell explains that his grandfather was a Soldier /in the army. Something along those lines
In argument to the world of gaia and how it looks nothing like Sevens to be plausible for a family line.
I have an idea that the creators don't sit down and map out generations over 1000s of years in geography and human kind to connect all the games in some strange time line. No, it seems much more plausible that much like how Pixar places hints of past Pixar films in their movies - Square acts the same.
My evidence: (before i get to the point of bringing this up)
In FFIX, Zidane makes a reference to a friend with a huge sword and spiky blond hair. One could argue this as a reference to Cloud.
In FFX, During a visit in the Farplane one can approach Shinra while he's looking at the spirits - he explains how he might one day come up with a means to create energy from the far plane...sound like something we should all know?

I'm sure there are more but I'm close with the upper half of the series.
The point I'm getting at is that I'm sure the creators may think to move the characters independently of the world and story lines. That's not to suggest that they specifically sat down and decided: Zell is Cloud and Tifa's child. But more they took those characters into consideration when creating Zell, leaving small hints.
I'm just throwing that out there...now GO!
