It had been strange...being so in one place for so long...After the distance her paws had covered, staying still for more than a day was foreign. Eupe'baridi shook herself, grass and dirt escaping her icicle fur. She looked back to the den she'd been in, one of her awkward-but-true smiles on her muzzle. Her little darling, her NalĂȘdi'kisa. Her dark little daughter, created by the seed of a lion and born from her womb, the embodiment of her rebellion against her clan...
And the opener of her eyes. Now she knew why the serfs sang in the dens when a little one was born, when a mother mourned harder than any other, why so many fell for the sake of their cubs...Eupe was certain she would give up everything, if only she could love her daughter and care for her.
But right now...it was time the first of her traveling companions met her precious star. "Aang! You can come near now. I won't chase you off." She was suddenly very glad of the...Saint...that had chosen to travel with them for now. Else she was certain Aang would have hated her...She sighed and turned to her den. "Kisa, sweetling...come on out. I've someone for you to meet."

Aang was pouting even as he trotted forward, nearing Eupe cautiously. Ever since she'd gotten that den, she'd been really weird. Chasing him off if he got too close... It was probably the only real reason he was able to meet so many other people on his own lately. He was glad, but that didn't mean he was going to stop feeling like a scorned baby anytime soon...
"Promise? You've been really grouchy ever since you found that den," he said, slinking closer and sniffing at the cave hesitantly. He had to admit... Everything around the cave smelled weird...

Kimbi's actions mimicked Aang's, as he was uncertain about what was going on. His ears swiveled forward at the sound of the older cheetah's voice. It seemed soft, enough so that he let his wings sag a bit by his sides, letting his tense muscles relax a bit. It didn't answer the question of what was going on, but it did let him know that things were settling out, perhaps.
He stuck close to Aang for the time being, making sure that he wasn't going to get in the way of anyone. That was the last thing that he wanted to do at this point. He didn't want to offend them, and then have to go back to being on his own. Kimbi wasn't quite ready for that. He stayed silent for now, listening to the two of them while letting his tail flop behind him.

Inside the cave, a small form yawned slightly and rolled over, eyes blinking awake once she realized that her mother had moved and was calling to someone outside. Kisa was still very young, but old enough to be curious by this point.
Getting to her feet a bit awkwardly, the dark cub blinked at the light coming in from outside and stretched a bit, ears tilted forward. She could smell others out there, and hear them coming closer. "Who is it, mama?" she asked, voice pitched low, but not quite a whisper.

Eupe laughed softly, a strange thing to hear coming from her. "Yes, I promise Aang. No more grouchiness from me for a while." She gave a slight bow to the 'Saint', still rather new to Kimbi's presence. It was a bit awkward to be traveling with one of Mkodi's blessed...but she did not mind at all.
When her ears caught her daughter's voice, her small smile grew. "Friends, sweetling. Once you and your brother can move around better, we'll be traveling with them." Once Kisa was in view, she looked back to Aang and Kimbi. "The reason I've been rather grumpy is this little one and her brother. Aang, Kimbi, this is my daughter Naledi'kisa."

Aang's eyes widened almost comically when he saw the cub peeking out of the den, and he pranced forward, reaching to sniff Kisa's nose curiously. She smelled a lot like Eupe! After a long moment, he looked over at Eupe, his tail flicking excitedly behind him.
"You had cubs? And you didn't think to tell me until now!?" he huffed, fur fluffing up a bit indignantly at the perceived insult.

Kimbi's eyes widened at the announcement of cubs. Well! He didn't feel like he was all that old himself, but the idea of something younger than him made him a very curious godling indeed. He folded his wings tightly at his side, making sure that he wouldn't make any sudden movements. It would break his heart if he scared them for whatever reason.
Gingerly he let his paws guide him in a bit closering, his gold eyes watching the movements of the two. Wow, they were so small! He gasped a bit at it, amazed. "They're so little." He wrapped his tail around one of his hind legs, peeking up at Eupe now. "And pretty." He took two steps backwards, shifting himself a bit behind Aang while watching the cubs for a bit longer. Peering behind Aang was a bit difficult, but Kimbi always was a little shy.

Kisa tensed just slightly when Aang sniffed at her - not used to anyone else being that close but her mommy and brother. But when nothing else happened, she relaxed and sniffed him back. Her manner was careful, though not serious.
Then she looked up to see the other and her eyes widened a bit. Oh ... that one had wings! Like the birds she had seen outside of the den a time or two. Blinking at him, Kisa took a tentative sort of step toward the little godling. "Hello..." she said, and though she glanced at Aang too, it was painfully clear which of them her attention was focused on.

Eupe...pouted. "I'm sorry Aang. I just..." She sighed. "I wasn't sure what to do. You were the first young one I really had to deal with. And...to have cubs of my own. I was a little scared, I suppose." She smiled at Aang, an apologetic expression.
The adult cheetah nodded at the Saint. "Yes...I wasn't expecting them to be so small either...But.." She nuzzled her daughter. "They are beautiful. Like the night." Eupe chuckled, glad her daughter was accepting her companions.
