((Just a small note that I noticed but doesn't really feel like it needs to be stuck in Turan's actual post; she would have told her family about Andy... she just feels a bit guilty for not letting them meet him sooner since things between them have progressed as far as they have. XD Silly goose indeed.))

User Image Turan paused just ouside the door to the HQ and turned to look back at her mother and sister, one of her bright smiles shining out from her face. "Andy can be kind of loud, but he's really nice." She wagged her tails happily. "I'm glad you get to meet him! I've told him about you all but getting to introduce you is like a thousand times better." One more energetic wiggle and she opened the door and skipped inside.

She'd meant to introduce them all before she and Freandwyn had figured out they had feelings for eachother... not that she'd had any idea it would turn out that way. It had only happened just recently, though, and suddenly "I should do this sometime" had become much more urgent. The very next time Alcy had dropped in for a visit she'd dragged her mother and sister through the door to Zanarkand and related the entire tale, apologized profusely, and generally fretted like the silly goose she was.

But they'd talked things out and here they were. "Andy!" she called as she stepped into the main room, looking around for his dark coat and lovely feathers. "Know how I keep saying I should bring my family to meet you? I'm sorry about the suprise but Alcy came over for a visit today so I wanted to bring them over."

User Image Valefor cocked her head to the side and gave a very soft amused chuckle at her chipper offspring before glancing to the side at Alcyone. "She's very proud of this male she found, isn't she?" Her smile could not be seen beneath her mask, but her amusement with Turan's bouncy behavior would have been easily read by the more combative of her daughters.

She proceeded to follow Turan inside, one ear lifting slightly at her red and black furred daughter's calls as she sought out her newly dubbed boyfriend. Tucking her wings tightly to her sides the Aeon shifted so that she and Alcyone could enter the main room side by side. She did not truly worry that Turan was a poor judge of character, but she was still, quite simply, a protective mother. The sight of Valefor and Alcyone together could be quite intimidating, and she wanted the male to make no mistake about what he was getting himself into. If he did anything to hurt Turan, he would have two very irate Fayth on his paws.

Alcyone was loathe to spend much time at the Fierra Place. It was domestic, and busy, and boring, and there were too many walls for her taste. She wasn't sure how her mother had settled down there without going slowly insane. Growing up in the same household as those crazy freaks with the missing hearts was bound to drive any right-thinking young femme to want to punch things as a hobby. It was best for everyone that Alcy didn't make the manor her home.

But now Alcyone was beginning to second-guess her decision to live the wanderer's life. She'd always thought things would remain the same no matter how often she left them behind. Her mother would still love her, her father would still be over the hills and far away, and Turan would still be sheltered and protected. It had come as a shock to return and discover that some stupid punk had got his grimy paws all over her sweet little sister. Alcy was happy to see so much light in Turan's eyes. But she didn't like how little she knew about this fellow, even if her ignorance was mostly her own fault.

Alcy knew she wouldn't ever have a romance. She was too large, too armored, too sharp. She'd seen the way that Vash the Stampede had looked at her, the way that males stared at her body with scorn or pity. No one wanted a femme like her, and she'd made as much peace with that as she could. For that reason, the warrior was determined to see that her favorite sister had everything in life that Alcy never would.

Alcyone strode confidently into the room, and silently evaluated the terrain for battle. This 'Andy' would either be perfection incarnate, or Alcyone would personally bash his muzzle in, sprain his limbs, and dump his broken body on the other side of the mountain with a very stern warning. There were no middle options.

Her family?!

Nervous, nervous, very very nervous. That was the best way to describe Freandwyn in this moment without going into poetical nonsense. He'd never thought to meet someone like Turan, someone who had seen beyond loud and brash and could care for the fellow behind it. She was flawless in his affection-clouded sights, and so it was of utmost importance to him to make a good impression on her family. Ears had pricked and swiveled when he heard his name called by a familiar voice, and swallowing the lump in his throat, the male rose to his feet from where he'd been sitting.

He'd grown up in a place that was full of odd creatures...demons, nobodies, vampires and remnants had been his lot, though he'd been protected from harm and imminent wrath many times by his ever-watchful father. Now he was an adult, and the repercussions of his actions belonged solely to him, which meant that if Turan's family should think ill of him, then it was no one's fault but his own. Feathers shivering slightly, he glanced at them, ensuring they hadn't gotten ruffled in his nervousness, and satisfied, he trotted out to 'meet the folks'.

"Hello." His voice was loud, deep and booming naturally, and though he'd toned it down for politeness sake, it was still more than easy to hear, though thankfully spoken below a shout. Bright blue eyes flicked first to Valefor, and he dipped his head in her direction with a flash of a smile. Good with people Andy was not, but he could certainly try for Turan.

If Turan was bright before she practically glowed now. "Andy~" She trotted over to meet him, giving him a brief nuzzle of affection and reassurance before turning to face mother and sister with him. "Alcy, Momma, this is Freandwyn. Andy this is my mother Valefor and my sister Alcyone." The two most frequently mentioned members of her family, Valefor who with raptor's grace and instinct and time's long earned patience and understanding usually could tell when someone was a threat and when they simply needed more time to prove themselves. Alcyone who with a maternal care hidden beneath fighter's fury would not hesitate to leap to the defense of her smaller, if not younger, sibling.

In this case Turan hoped Alcy would not wind up defending her where she didn't need it, but she appreciated that her sister cared enough to do whatever testing of Andy she was likely to do. Valefor would probably do some testing of her own... a lot more subtly. Mostly though, she hoped they could just be happy for her; falling in love hadn't been intentional but she wouldn't change it even if she could. This was something she wanted, really wanted, and though it might suprise them all she would put her paw down if she had to. Sweet, gentle Turan had inherited her parents' steel the same as any of her siblings. She just rarely had any reason to show it, and it had never come up between family members.

Oh, she hoped this didn't have to get any more akward than it was.

Valefor inclined her head in return, examining the male with sharp golden eyes. She was less concerned about the lad's social skills than with how he treated her daughter. That he was nervous but doing his best put a couple of marks in his favor with the Aeon, not that it was very easy to tell behind her beaked mask.

"Greetings, Freandwyn. Turan speeks well of you." Not that Turan was the sort to speak ill of someone unless they had genuinely done something she found upsetting. But Turan had always been very sensitive and intuitive to peoples' intentions, rather than their actions or appearances. She did not ever do or say anything unless a suspicion was confirmed, but Valefor had noticed that Turan instintivly shied away from people who intended mischief or harm, even if she would not shut them out completely from her company.

Valefor did not have much else to say at the moment; she was observing Andy, Turan, Alcyone, and the situation in general. In this circumstance the things she wanted to know would hold many clues in the things unspoken as much as what was said. Not that she was expecting smooth words and a charming grin from the male at this point. She thought she rather preferred the honest, and honestly nervous, smile he presented. But still... "Turan has mentioned you and time and again, and I am glad she has found a friend outside of family and abode, though I must admit when she told us of the recent developements in your relationship I was a bit suprised." There was a faint smile to her voice as she added, "I suppose I hoped she'd never grow up."

Andy needn't have worried about his social skills. Alcyone had all the social graces of a punch to the face. She softened up around kids, family, and wanderers in distress, but he was none of those things, and this wasn't the kinda situation where she'd let her guard down.

"So. Andy."

Alcyone mentally dismantled Andy from behind the shield of her mask. At least he wasn't some wilting sissy. This punk had damn well better have the strength to protect her sister.

The femme padded over to clap a friendly paw on Andy's back. A very friendly, very strong paw.

"How'd you meet my sister?"

When Turan approached him, some of the tension eased from his shoulders, and he lightly butted his head against hers with a rumble of affection. Social awkwardness notwithstanding, she seemed to make everything right with the world. No matter how confusing his life had been, this...was finally something that made sense to him, and he wouldn't let it go.

Clear turquoise eyes blinked at Turan's mother, and she was so much more impressive than he had expected her to be...goodness, what a family they were. "Well...Andy is glad she is so fond of him. She is...very special." It was clear that he meant that in the most fond of ways, his eyes aglow with his affection when he turned to look at her. Most enamored of this daughter of Valefor's, was the feathery-winged kitsu. "And she speaks very highly of you, and all of her family...this one has looked forward to meeting them."

Though sometimes he would slip, his voice managed to keep below a shout, old habits were hard to break, after all.

His eyes became wide and he quite nearly choked when Alcyone's paw descended on him, and his ears swiveled almost comically as he turned to eye her. "Ah...well...just...started talking one day, here at this place." He explained, almost shouting again, as she'd quite startled him.

Turan chirped at the compliments from Andy and brushed her cheek against his shoulder. Oh, she knew this wasn't easy for him, but she was proud of him for trying so hard! Her answering glow of affection for him was impossible to hide. Not that she wanted to.

Her ears swiveled forward at Andy's reply to Alcy's question and she gave a bit of a sheepish grin. "Yeah... I was bored with sitting at home, and everyone was out... except Pez. So I cam over here and I bumped into him and we talked and stuff happened." Guile was not Turan's strong suit, so it was a safe bet that "stuff" was entirely innocent, as most of Turan's life thus far had been.

Valefor was further amused with the situation thus far. It was going to be interesting to see how things developed. She desired both to speak and to simply remain quiet and watchful. "Well... it is good to finally meet you, Freandwyn." She would watch. Mostly. Alcyone would likely find out what they both needed to know. And Valefor could seek out his family later to find out more about them for herself.
