n** gwylndel or what ever that 1/1 lifeliker that costs 1 is. and edge of the divinity.
turn two 4/4 lifelinker. a very nice piece of synergy I think.
discuss, effectiveness? use? synergies or combos with either piece.

That is insane. If someone was actually able to get those two out by turn 2 or even 3, an opponent would be pretty dazed because it's hard to deal with something that good that early in the game. A well placed combo for the new set!

I figure with four copies of each, it wouldn't be unreasonable to have out on turn three. turn two with some luck, or lucky muligans. that would even be worth going down to three, because it's immune to most forms of removal, specially common ones.

I know it's crazy that by turn 4 at the lastest, assuming you have 4 of each card, you can have a shroud out that has unholy/holy strength on it from the same card. Can you imagine if you had more than one of those out?? eek

i did that last night
i was playin a friend and i got nyp gwyillion out on turn 1
then edge of divinty on turn 2
then i just powered it up with helm of the ghastlord and a fists of the demigod.
6/6 with wither, discard a card if dealt damage to a player, and lifelink.
i owned him

I over ran a goblin deck with a perfect hand.
1x nid gwylin
3x edge of the divinity
1 x unmake
2 swamp
my first turn I drew a plains. turn four I had a 10/10 lifelinker with an unmake to protect it. I had other less impressive stuuf, and I won quickly.

I've seen this combo in action, and it's an absolute killer. I hate it so much.
Some other combos I've seen that are similar to yours are:
Stream Hopper + Clout of the Dominus, which also hurts alot.
Silhanna Ledgewalker + Moldervine Cloak = turn 6 kill.

actually made that play in my first game of sealed play at the release tournament. n** turn 1, divinity turn 2, followed by it getting hit by the burn spell with wither turning it back into a 1/1 LOL.
Play edge of divinity on the white/black mimic....its good trust me.

Constructed-wise try it out with....
4x Beckon Apparition
4x n** Gwyllion
4x Edge of Divinity
4x B/W Mimic (forget it's name)
4x Stillmoon Cavalier
4x Unmake
4x Divinity of Pride
I'd need a little more time to think of more, but Gwyllion Hedge-mage is a possibility, as is Spectral Procession and the B/W Liege.
