The kingdom is build into a patch of flat land between the mountains and far from the normal ground, shortly upon leaving the town walls one is on rocky ground and surrounded by the harsh mountains.

A man walks slowly up the mountain side looking about and seemingly enjoying himself with the view. He stops at the edge of a drop off and perches ontop of a rock. He smiles and brushes back a few locks of blonde with a hand covered in a very colorful sleeve. "I wonder where you've gotten to now?"

An odd creature, vaguely humanoid in shape, but looking more like a deformed crow, with a few vaguely feline features lay still, collapsed against a tree. He had been traveling for a long time with little rest and was finally reaching his limit. Panting, he took his staff in 'hand' and pushed away from the tree to continue. Completely lost, his only focus was on going as far as he could go, until he found a place he thought he might be able to survive in. He hoped these mountains would be that place. They were very different from where he'd come from, but it was easy to get lost here, and that meant it would be hard to be found. The further he traveled though, the more he got caught in the underbrush and deadfall. His staff, a foot, a wing, his staff again - it seemed like it would never end! He had landed as soon as he'd seen something that didn't look like water or air, hoping to get some rest after flying so much, but traveling up these mountain sides through these woods, was at least as much work.
((sorry that took so long))

Turning his head sideways a bit Ontaros listens carefully, he beleives he heard something rustling through the underbrush but he wasnt sure from where. The acoustics in the rock faces were great, but unfortunately were hampering his ability to locate the sounds. He stands up and says plainly. "Is someone there?" fully expecting a response if one was possible.

Tryan froze at the sound of someone speaking. He heard it clear as day, but struggled to understand it or tell where it was coming from. When no further sound met his ears, however, he thought he must be hearing things. Perhaps the animals in this place sounded a little like people? There were bugs where he came from that could sound like a person mumbling, after all. Finally letting out the breath he hadn't realized he was holding, he turned and attempted to continue, only to find the ring on his ankle stuck... again. Growling, he braced himself against a tree with his free hand and kicked at the bush. At last, he came free, but lost his balance in the process and stumbled over a small, dead tree. Squacking indignantly, he tumbled a few meters down the hillside before coming to rest in another bush.

Finally Ontaros caught sight of what was making the noise and vanished. He reappears crouching next to the brush that Tryan is now in and is ready to extend a helping hand as he speaks clearly. "Are you alright? That tumble looked like fun, but it looked a little troublesome."

Tryan froze, staring up at the man with enormous eyes and ears laid back flat against his head. He watched the offered hand closely as though it was seriously offending him, but when nothing came of it, he suddenly came alive again. Looking back up at Ontaros, he hissed at the man and struggled to disentangle himself. He'd lost his staff, and it frustrated him to see it laying on the ground behind the stranger that seemed to have come out of no where. He came free for the most part, but promptly face planted, the D-ring in his right wing caught on a branch, again. Panting with exhastion, he glared up at Ontaros, as if daring him to attack or come any closer, though his odd feathered tail was tucked securely between his legs and wrapped around one of his ankles in an odd likeness to a frightened dog.

Ontaros's head tilts to the side and then smiles warmly to creature infront of him. He doesnt move, he simply says again. "Are you alright?" He watches quietly for a response, almost completely oblivious to the hissing and body posture.

One of Tryan's ears twitched forward at Ontaro's repeated qestion, but he didn't move again except to pull distractedly at his wing. There was no outward indication that he understood anything the man was saying to him, just that he heard it.

"Hmmm..." Ontaros looks to his side and sees that the staff belonging to the one in front of him was caught up. The least he could do is return the staff to him. Perhaps that would help the situation. Reaching over he picks up the staff, puts it across his open hands and offers it to the creature and nods.

He growled when he realized the man was going for his staff, but as soon as he turned back, Tryan scrambled backwards as far under the bush as his trapped wing allowed. For several long momens, he staid right there, not moving, hardly breathing, until at last, he slowly crept forward. Reaching with one furry 'hand,' he stretched as far as he could without getting any nearer to Ontaros than strictly necessary in order to reach his staff. He hesitated the briefest of moments before snatching for it.

Ontaros frowns, an unfamiliar look on his face. He notices that his company was still tangled up and was uncomfortable with his presence. Thinking a moment, he decides it best to just act instead of ask. With a quick flick of his wrist and a point of his finger, the afore mentioned appendage comes loose and he once more smiles. Since it seemed words were useless he decided to offer his hand once more. All of the growling and body language still seemed to be lost on him. He was simply remembering the time he befriended a young tiger cub in a similar manner and he hoped it'd work again.

Startled when his wing was suddenly freed, the creature looked up at Ontaros again, seeming to consider him now. Despite his obvious attachment to the staff, this was his first real sign of any true intelligence. He watched the man's hand closely again, but then slowly crawled closer. Finally, he reached his own hand out again and placed it in the stranger's. He shook a little, but was glaring again, warning the man against doing anything either of them might regret.

Ontaros's smile grew, he wrapped his fingers firmly but not too tightly around the offered hand and stood before slowly pulling towards him to help what he would call his new friend up off the ground. He waited cautiously though, he didnt want to hoist his companion off the ground too quickly, there may be an unnoticed injury so he was patient.

Tryan's hair stood up on end and he opened his beak like mouth to bare a row of sharp, almost needle like teeth, but didn't growl or hiss. He nearly pulled away when he felt Ontaros pulling up slightly, inviting him to stand with him. Lifting his staff then, he planted one end in the ground and used it to help get himself up out of the dirt. Once standing though, he felt unsteady and tightened his grip on the man's hand, paying no attention to whether or not his claw like, if dull, nails were enough to hurt him.
OOC: okay, good night, and have a nice day at work ^ ^ thanks for the RP
