Syd walked toward the playground holding his precious little one in his arms. He had several outfits for her already, and yet he made sure she had one specifically designated for play. As he made his way over to the playground, he saw that there was already another child playing there, and so he decided to make his way over to the particular sandbox where the other child was enjoying herself. Sand was easy to clean off of her clothes anyway.

Syd made his way to the sandbox and placed his angel down. He made sure that she was safe, and then made his way over to the bench the woman was sitting on. He had brought a picnic lunch, just so that he could allow her to play for a little while longer. Syd almost did a double take when he saw that the little girl sitting in the sandbox that was to play with Kima was merely sifting sand through her fingers, but he figured that she just liked the sand, and wouldn't ask anything of her mother.

Walking over to the bench, Syd gave the lady a warm smile and spoke to her: "Hello, I would be Syd, and my angel here would be Kima. You don't mind if I let her play here, do you?" He said as he stood a little closer to Kima than he was to the bench. Syd noted that this woman was also of elven descent, and wondered what people she represented, but would probably learn of that during the conversation they would have. His people; the Cynwall, were a very controlled population, and thus he would try to match that as much as possible.

Kima looked into Tirio's face. Was she going to leave her alone to play by herself too? Syd had been so nice to her, she did not want to leave his side, yet she could not make it over to him to talk with him, so she left it to hope that the girl in front of her was kind to her.

"Hello", Kima said, her voice shaky and full of uncertainty. What would the little girl say? What would she do? Would she be afraid of the scars running down her cheek? In an even shakier voice, she continued: "Ppp...play with me?"

Listening to her talk, a pain shot up and down Syd's spine. He could feel that she still thought that she was at the orphanage, and while he wanted to go over there and assure her she wasn't, she would need to learn things on her own time. Thus, he sat down and bided his time the best he could, feeling a little uneasy at leaving his daughter there in the middle of the sandbox with someone that might possibly leave her be like the ones from her past.

Kima took a confused look at Syd. Surely this girl could not be serious? No one had ever truly played with her because they wanted to. Kima wondered what she meant by the term 'meet', but she was curious, and decided to go along with it.

"O...okay.", Kima said, unsure of things. She was unclear of how things would end up with such an exchange, but concluded that things could turn out okay. How she wanted a friend, someone she could relate to.

Syd looked up from where he was observing Kima, and nodded a little. "Thanks, I am sure she won't mind a new friend anyway."

Kima almost jerked back out of near terror, not one person had touched her face before. She did not know what to do, she did not know if she should say something with her limited vocabulary or not, but she knew that she did not know how to react to such an intimacy from anyone before. She was fighting the tears that were obviously beginning to swell in her eyes, and decided to reach out with her own hands to feel Tirio's face. She tried to be as gentle as possible, as she did not want to lose this feeling that she was in contact so close with someone. Kima tried as best she could to copy the hand motions the other girl followed, but was not precise in it. It did not matter though, it was contact with someone else.

Syd simply watched, he did not know what to say. Seeing that not every child in the world was as cold as the children in the orphanage that he found Kima in, he felt something grow in his heart that did not seem to be there before. He almost did not hear the woman sitting next to him, yet he did hear her say they needed friends.

"Yes, yes they do" He replied in full agreement.

Kima stopped the tears when she saw that she was apparently accepted by Tirio.

"Kima" She said, giving herself a short introduction. "Know you too", she added, her voice clearly improved from the shakiness from before. This girl may not abandon her, after all. Kima's eye's betrayed the fact that she felt a little better about her situation, but both she and Syd knew that she was not feeling completely secure yet.

Syd was unclear as to the exchange that went on, but when Tirio's mother turned to him and explained, he was much more understanding. "Oh...I see. I was a little unsure of that to be honest, but I can understand why she needs to make her introductions like that." Syd nodded, still a little taken by the situation.

Kima looked at Tirio throwing the sand at her, and wondered what it was that she wanted to do with it. Kima picked up some sand, and sifted it through her fingers for a little while. This was fun for the girl? Kima tried reasoning through it, but her mind would not let her get very far...there was still far too much for her to learn to understand the simple joys that Tirio recieved when she sifted her fingers through the grains.

Syd turned to the woman and uttered the question immediately on his mind with the mentioning of the unfamiliar name: "ToR? What are those? Are they all blind like Tirio?"
