Light steps padded into the territory, breaching past the wave of scents that bordered the land. The veil like musk spoke as a warning, though the dark featured wolf paid little attention to the words it whispered and instead continued on his way intentionally heading to pierce through the heart of the pack. It was his mission, his first, to infiltrate the Akiiki Chibale territory and demand tribute from them. Knowing full well that this was an enemy pack to his Reign of Terror, Clooney drifted forward without the slightest bit of worry, instead interested in seeing how this band of wolves would react to his demand. Information ran low. The dark wolf hadn't the time nor the resources to gather information on the pack before setting off, which essentially was probably a mistake on his part, after all, it probably would help to know the alpha's names before coming in and asking something of them.
But this was for Reign of Terror. That was the only point he needed to get across and they would do the rest. Surely they had heard of their neighboring pack with a lust for injustice? Surely his alpha had gotten his wants across to them as well. A tribute would be demanded that day and Clooney would so to it that it was performed. Raising his tail he trotted forward, keeping his head high while his pale gold eyes flicked about, searching for movement through the finely spaced brush. This was a fine region, perhaps he would was for a piece of it connecting to the boarder of his pack land. Perhaps not. He had heard rumor that the alpha and his mate were blessed recently with a litter...perhaps he would focus on them as his target. Surely the parents wouldn't give them up so easily, in fact, it was promising that this pack wouldn't wield to Clooney's demands at all, even if they were to sound fair. He was well aware that he had entered into bloodshed.
He only hoped that the pack would be the ones empty handed.
Coming upon an open space and the strong scent of wolves, he paused, looking through the thick trees cautiously before looking forward to what he presumed was the den. It was late evening, the time just before a pack would gather to go on a hunt, but it wasn't yet that the members were bustling. Maybe it was he had needed to rally them together? With a sneer, the large dark wolf cast his head skyward, allowing from his maw a great and powerful howl. It lingered in the air for a few seconds, carrying with it a swift baritone before falling short and dying out. Now all he had to do was wait, wait and see what these wolves would bring and what he could do as a Lord of Reign of Terror.

The wolf had been eyed by a set of green eyes since the passing of the border, in fact Bertok had flown to his wolf and then picked the wolf back up with ease of knowing the territory. Mahli had been on the edge of the border when the 'intruder' crossed the line. How bold this one was to just waltz straight through into another territory. The fur bristled on his shoulders as he had taken an alternate course back towards the den. A straight shot and moved into the den, Crunch would be back after his pass of the border, though the silver and corpse grey male had sent his feathery friend on to get the alpha.
Laying low in the back of the den entrance the white eyes stared out towards the invader. His tail was thick with aggrivation and the protection that he was giving to Gracia, the alpha's sister and his cousin who was busy settling new bedding down.Bertok flew quickly, Mahli had gone to his position that Crunch had instructed if the land was infultrated, take care of the den, only if there was someone in there unable to defend themselves. That ment his sister Gracia, frail bones and she had a problem with breathing if she ran, not the best of fighters.
That was when the green eyes spotted the large blue mountain of rippling muscles and fur.
"Crun..." a howl ripped through the territory. The crow froze on his beat of air. After having Alas finally move into the pack for good, the alpha had been happy, but then again he had spiced up the patrols. Bertok, Mahli's familiar, was a great set of extra eyes to the pack and to the guarding of the territory. How so many other wolves had been startled to hear the loud cry of the crow.
That was something that Crunch liked the most about the green creature that had came to the territory when Musketeer had brought his children into the family. Yes, Crunch didn't look at his pack as just a pack, but as a family and he was the one that made the rules and kept them enforced. Alas was the one to be softer and show the heart of the pack, though don't think Crunch didn't have fun....once in a blue moon, he was just cautious with the lives in his paws.
Hearing Bertok starting to say his name made the fur raise on his neck, that was until a snarl was his answer to the howl in the middle. Why in the hell didn't the bird make the sound of the alarm? Danger lit up the dark blue eyes as he turned on the bird, then his paws swept towards the inside of the pack.
Red lightning brows furrowing together, this wasn't a howl for help, this was a bold howl and a damn annoyance that Mahli had obviously told Bertok not to alarm the other to the system.
This was already a bad sign, could this wolf have Gracia or even Moranna by the nape of their neck. They were his first to think of then the more worrisome thought, what if this being had one of his daughters in his jaws. The paws kicked off at a greater pace and Crunch broke into the clearing, teeth bared and eyes sweeping the pack-free clearing, all but this other male.
Raising his head, Crunch walked forward a few paces, and caught scent of where this wolf belonged. The snarl was quivering in his throat.
"State your business," the alpha demanded. Bertok swooped to perch himself upon the rocks above the den. He knew that Mahli was sitting in the inside of the den entrance eyes locked upon the other's hide.

The black male was aware that deep within the den, wolves were hidden away. Why didn't they come out and play? Certainly his howl beckoned them to join, did it not, or maybe he hadn't put enough longing into it? Regardless, he watched the entrance with anticipation, searching almost through the darkness as though he could see beyond and who sheltered within. Swinging his head, it seemed someone had answered his call, and just the wolf he needed to discuss with. A piece of the evening sky that had fallen to earth, lit with lightning, is exactly what Clooney would have described the large male as; the further distance he crossed and the closer he got to the black male the more Clooney realized just how bulky this male was. Clooney was large for most wolves, but this alpha exceeded even his height.
The statement seemed simple, almost laughable. Certainly he knew what he was here for? Maybe that was the way this pack greeted strangers. The black wolf stared the alpha eye to eye, smirking slightly at the corner of his maw, while the rest of his expression remained stoic, eager almost. "My business? Surely you know why a member of RoT has paid you a visit," he answered coolly, not wavering before the larger male. "I seek tribute for the Goblin Monarch...a gift of some tangible importance that shows your respect for the pack. My alpha would appreciate this gift and may even reward you for your compliance. However, if you refuse...well I can't guarantee what will happen, but I assure you, conflict would rather be avoided."
The male stood solidly on his paws, looking sleek but still bulky and proud. His expression seemed the same. It shown a brilliance, a certain haughty pride, while still keeping about him a sly sensitivity. His body did not demand dominance otherwise, his tail hung between his legs. But his eyes were bright and attentive, eager to see how the male would respond. It would be a false statement to say that he was without anxiety, though the sickening emotion didn't show itself outwardly to the large male. Who wouldn't feel a little nervous when confronting an enemy pack that had no intention of complying? All the same, Clooney stood his ground, not about to fail the alpha that had generously accepted him into his ranks.

The arrogant male before him made Crunch's hackles raise ever more so. The sound of a growl from the den was evidence enough that Mahli wasn't happy with the standing the stranger took before the father of their pack.
"A tribute," there was no question in the tone, his pack used everything that the caught and or killed. Gracia was an excellent den cleaner, Alas had the skill of the best natural healers, and then there was the fisher Butterfingers.
"Give me a second to call my family in," his eyes never faltered to leave the RoT rep. Even though the dry words to follow was something that the alpha seemed fit to add, "Or will that hender the time that is needed for the Reign of Terror to collect?"

Calm eyes slid from alpha to darkness as the growl ripped through the air, breaching, giving Clooney and unfathomable satisfaction. He made these wolves blood curdle. Yes, this was what he wanted. Of course he wouldn't change his stance because of this discomfort. Wandering eyes returned once more to the deep blue of the alpha, listening as he spoke without qualm.
At least his message had gotten across. It was obvious to him that the statement had not been a question, and that Crunch understood perfectly what was expected of him. This created some curiosity in the sly male. He was eager to see further response from him and his pack mates who lay hidden still. More would follow, he was sure.
Giving a little nod, he acknowledged his request. "Oh no, as long as it doesn't take them a month to find your side, I'm sure I have no issues with a time limit. By all means, take your time deciding on what your tribute...will consist of," he murmured, pausing briefly toward the end to glance once more into the den. Flicking his tail, he observed patiently, waiting for further reply.

Crunch flickered his eyes over towards the green crow that sat on the jutted out rock over the den entrance, the look was to find his children. Then the eyes dropped down to glance at the darkness where Mahli was, the silver male was strong, but his protective edge would eventually get him hurt.
Dark blue eyes moved under the red lightning browns and looked at the male, listening to his words with still bristled hackles. "They are never that far out," Crunch bluntly stated, his pack was small and he didn't want them to come unless they heard his howl telling them to do so. "As for your tribute, it will be discussed."
And with that said, Crunch tilted his head back and let out a howl, one deep from his throat, but ringed with care and a hidden warning to those that knew it's depth. He figured all but three members would really show up, Snickers, Rally, and Shelby would stick to what they were doing.
At the look, the bird cocked his head and then hopped once before spreading his wings out to take flight again. He was to look for the alpha's daughters and sons.
Gracia lifted her head at the sound of the growl that came from Mahli in the foyer to the den, her head leaned to one side and she blinked her light blue eyes. Ears twitched and she could hear the faint sound of Crunch talking low with anger to another.
"Mahli, who is out there?" she questioned, stepping out of the freshly laid bedding towards her cousin. Then the howl echoed through the territory, it reached deep into her bones and shook the little omega, ears pulled back the neighbores must have sent someone.
Peeking out around the corner, her nose quivered and Gracia moved towards the mouth of the den. Her blue head poking out into the daylight followed by her white midsection and then the blue back-end where her blue tail was curled up under her belly, not out of fear towards the stranger, but from the look that had filled Crunch's form.
Mahli moved out with his cousin, white eyes swepted the trees for his sisters, then locked back onto the stranger, head low and teeth were visible with ever quiver of his lips. If the male moved towards Gracia, or towards anyone that came into sight, Mahli would make an attempt to stop the stranger. His head was low, not of rank, but as if ready to move swiftly.

Alas was the first to respond, from within the den she listened quietly and when her mates howl pierced the aid she pushed her pups close together and covered them with the soft down that Gracia and Moranna had brought to the den. She stretched her muscles and slunk to the entrance waiting as saw Gracia and Mahli.
She gave Gracia a comforting nuzzle and slipped out of the den past both of them to stand beside Crunch her head held high. She was startled a moment her blue eyes expected to meet one of Agua Azul's wolves, this was a stranger to her though. She quickly masked her confusion and stood steady beside her mate, a contrast to his size and strength.
Tempeste raced at the sound of the call, she raced to her father his warning making her head explode with a need to stand by and protect her beloved family. She was distantly aware of her sister and cousin behind her, her sisters pleas to wait fell on deaf ears however. She went sliding into the den clearing and stood still for a moment panting and gazing with narrowed eyes at Clooney. This then was the enemy?
Venera followed her sister with her long graceful limbs stretching attempting to keep pace, she could not match her siblings fervor however and fell back to aid her weaker cousin. She gently nudged Moranna and encouraged the slim female to walk steadily.
Moranna itches to run like Tempeste or Venera, but her body would not sustain the energy in her heart. Weakly she trotted along her breathing heavy despite the light pace Venear forced her to take. She nuzzled her cousin with gratitude and finally they too reached the clearing and sat to each side of Tempeste curiousity in their eyes offset by the hostility in hers.
Musketeer was a wild blur, his speed had one found and lost him his heart, now he focused his ability to reach his Alpha in moments. He had been at the border of their land watching for trespass from Agua Azul. It seemed danger had come from another angle. He slowed his pace and breathed evenly showing no signs of his hard run. He bowed his muzzle respectfully to Crunch pretending to ignore the stranger. He smiled once for his son, pride in his eyes before his emotions were masked and he sat off to a side creating a loose half circle around Clooney, a 'wall' protecting the den.
Twix had been the first nearby, but she was the last to make her appearance known, and when she did it was from behind Clooney. Eyes that would be so warm and rich in their red hue were now brightly bloodthirsty. She glared at Clooney's back and sat stiffly completing the rough circle they had unconciously made around the strange male. Her eyes met Crunch's for a moment in a plea to let them destroy this enemy who came to threaten them. She would not risk her beloved family, for Twix family mattered above all.
Within the den little Frey slept, unaware of what happened above him and his siblings.

Those same cool eyes watched the wolves solidify into view, no longer apparitions in the distance. This seemed to be the majority of the pack-the best he could make- and grinning slightly in the corner of his maw, he heeded Crunch's words. Watching as the pack assembled, he observed each member individually. It was easy to pinpoint the alpha-female. Her subordinates were also easily ranked.
Despite his calm behavior he was well aware he was outnumbered in enemy territory. He didn't want to see it that way, however, and instead minded himself to keep vigilant of everything that was going on. He was even aware of the wolfess standing behind him, burying her gaze in his back. His confidence grew with this. They were on edge. Though he posed no real threat (their numbers gave them the upper hand), it was satisfying to know they took him seriously. He was a member of Reign of Terror, it was only right that he be respected.
A pause followed before he spoke. No more wolves appeared and it seemed appropriate to get thing started. "Well, now that you've all arrived," he started, "I thank you for granting me audience." His hips shifted as Clooney took on a more relaxed state. His calculating eyes were still narrowed with a sly look of satisfaction clouding them. Cocky didn't begin to describe it. However, his audacious attitude was more refined. He didn't feel the need to speak with a "holier than thou" attitude, after all, the wolf was certain it was coming off that way anyway.
"As I'm sure you know, I'm of Reign of Terror, and in my pack's behalf, I ask a tribute of you. Please, take your time in deciding what you wish to offer."

Concordia laid curled up next to Frey and head resting on Davii. She was just as oblvious to what was happening outside as her blue brother.
Gracia sat back down in the den's entrance the only ones in the den now were the three newest members and her niece and nephews were going to be kept from this event for now, at least as long as she could help it.
Her eyes watched as the rest of the family joined in, looked like the sisters from Agua Azul was taking a haitus on this event. She wouldn't blame them.
The other spoke and she nudged Mahli, though it was evidence enough that Musketeers had raised some very well mannered kids with Venera and Tempeste. Looking at Moranna, Gracia gave her a sympathetic smile, the youngest of the trio of siblings had more health problems then she did, but Gracia, who wasn't a fighter, would even give her own life for anyone of her family in the clearing, or den.
Mahli moved to stand before the den and tried to position himself near Moranna. He nosed his sister and looked at her with concerned, but wary white eyes, noting that Mastilan hadn't showed up and the protective urge bristled his hackles. His eyes shifted back to look at the member of RoT and shot the bird a look when the wings came back into hearing range and sight.
Bertok scanned the clearing and saw the look from Mahli and knew who to look for, while he was out looking for Mastilan he would also search for Snickers and tell him what had been seen.
He watched his mate come and stand beside him, the scent of Frey, Davii and Concordia on her pelt, was a refreshing note. Then one by one Tempeste, Venera and Moranna made it to the clearing quickly followed by Musketeers and then Twix came up behind the rep.
At the look from his strong sister, he shook his head ever so faintly, but his eyes said, not just yet.
When Clooney spoke Crunch held back a deep growl. Knowing all to well that any slight movement of acknowledgement would be a good enough signal to Twix to lung or anyone...even himself. A lone member of the RoT in his territory, the gall they had, but something told him that this member probably wasn't all that alone. Something on the wind told him word would get back in a way he couldn't explain.
Looking to Alas then to the half ring formed before the den, Crunch let his deep blue eyes burn into the other. "Before we converse on the Tribute, mind the questions of how often will there be a demand for a tribute? And when do we find out if your alpha is pleased with whatever it should be?"

Twix waited with a pained expression, her muscles twitched beneath her rich caramel coat. It was clear that all the members of the pack were well fed, healthy, even Moranna. A wolf like her niece would have never survived without the love and aid that the pack gave happily.
Moranna sat quietly beside her brother aware of how protective he was. She glanced at him once her eyes questioning, wondering what was about to happen. Her eyes slid to her cousins, always together Tempeste and Venera, she noted that while one seemed ready to attack the other was more assessing. Strange, Moranna had never noticed a strange look like that on Venera's face.
Musketeer waited as patiently as Crunch, he had no desire to start any kind of fight with the ladies present, even if those ladies would be as rough as any warrior. He glanced up as he spotted the orange pelt of his brother and met his eyes. It was good to know that the pack was solid, they came not only out of respect, but out of love, a desire to see their home and family safe.
Butterfinger held back sitting a little ways behind Twix and merely watching.
Alas held her tongue, but curiosity about this new pack ran wild in her head. She kept her blue gaze as cold as ice and waited for Clooney to give a response. Tribute? What kind of a pack demanded tribute? Of course, such a question didn't seem to have any pleasant answers.

His sliding eyes visited every member equally, observing them each with interest, though his expression hardly changed from its mild hold. His ears were still forward, but occasionally swiveled, his eyes were moving, but paused to focus on the one speaking, and his position didn't budge even the slightest. His stance was balanced nicely, and still. Clooney watched the alpha and his pack, realizing they were waiting on his answers before they were to continue. It depended on his quick tongue whether or not this process was to close early or linger slowly by while they made their decision. He was fast to answer.
"You'll know if my alpha is pleased or not depending on if our ranks flank your borders or if peaceful silence is yours instead. This shouldn't be long--two days or so by my measuring, or perhaps less time depending on how quickly I can make it back to my alpha," his voice was even, not displaying a threat nor anything but patience. Despite this, they came like the words of a snake, slithering about, poisoning the air with falsities. "As for how often, I am not entirely informed when the next visit you'll receive from me will be. I can assume some time will pass between now and then."
He paused, glancing over to the pink wolf-ess, but it was obvious his voice was still directed more toward Crunch, the one who had addressed him. "We require tribute. Running your pack into the ground...now where's the sense in that? Making things reasonable for you will benefit us all," he commented, his calm expression sliding further into a devious smirk.
Pink ears gently shifted beside the warm siblings. Unlike his sleeping brother and sister, the young pup had been driven awake with the sudden commotion. Groggily he blinked, trying to focus on the murmuring sounds he heard outside. Of course he couldn't understand what was being said, but curiosity coursed through him, while anxiety started to creep up along with it. Something didn't feel right.

Anxiety poured from Davii and Con groggily lifted her head. Nosing her brother with her teal eyes closed.
"What's the matter Davii?" she murmured still half a sleep, though just as the words escaped her mouth, the fur on her back bristled. The air was off. Teal eyes popped open and the blue lightning sparking around her eyes crinkled as she came to a quick full awakening. Where was mother? She tapped Fey with her hind leg as if to wake him up.
If he had any idea he would be in a better offensive or defensive position, Mahli felt off in his current stance. His eyes moved from his sister to look to his father. What were they going to do? Did they really have anything to give as a tribute to this horrid pack? No doubt Agua Azul would be giving up one of their many 'worthless' members. Worthless...would that consist of the male that had laid a paw on his sister?
An idea sparked in Mahli's mind, maybe a last resort if nothing else fell through, but he would wait for Crunch's and Alas's word.
Two days or so. War pending or more peace, there was no winning in any case. War was in the air and the scent of the impending doom made him want to even hurl, but of course Crunch wouldn't do such an undignified thing.
"Very well," Crunch stated and turning he looked straight into the icy eyes of his lovely mate. They could talk it over in the den, even if Mastilin and Snickers wasn't part of the talk. They should have came at the summoning howl.
"Everyone, this is a decission we all will make," his eyes flickered back to the Rep. "In the den, you can stay here. I'll come back out and tell you what we have decided."
Gracia watched her brother and her family, the pack wasn't just a pack, everyone was her family. She loved them all, and then her ears flickered, had she heard movement in the den? Oh, heavens tell her the pups were still slumbering in sweet dreams.

Frey yawned and groggily opened his eyes just in time to see his mother slip back into the den. He looked over at his brother and sister sleepily "It's lunchtime already?" His head cocked and he frowned as he noted his brothers anxiety. "What's going on?"
Alas flicked her gaze to Gracia, she too heard the mild stirrings, she only hoped that the messenger had not. At Crunch's words she gave his chest the lightest touch and slipped into the den first moving to curl around her children.
"Of course it's not lunchtime yet...it's time to sleep. Everything will be fine now, come along." She picked Davii up by his scruff and slid further into the den to place her children where they could not be heard from above.
Musketeer noted the slight gleam in his son's eye, but gave no hint of notice. He moved to follow the others into the den his paws ready to spin around and attack should the male try and come at them from behind.
Venera moved behind her sister throwing the male another look but what her expression held was vague intrigue, not hostility.
Tempeste glared openly at Clooney before moving into the den with the others. She glanced back to see Venera following and her eyes flicked to Twix who had yet to move.
Moranna moved from beside her brother and slunk into the den cautiously, she sat beside Gracia and peered back to where Alas was taking the pups with a small sigh of relief.
Twix was the last to move, she finally stood and with a growl at the male she backed into the den. She spun around to face the pack, her family and frowned. For once she was at a loss for words, though she wanted to tell her brother to fight, she saw the folly in it. Great harm could come to their family from fighting this unknown pack. Yet what could they give, and would they be forever afraid of another messenger another demand?

The dark featured male watched them, listening intently with every word that fell from each member's maws. His golden specks followed their fluid movements into the den, and there he waited patiently for their return, delightfully eager to see what it was they were going to offer, if anything at all. While Clooney appreciated planning ahead, he hardly considered his options for whatever it was they were to bring for him. Would he demand something if they gave him nothing? Could he stand against them all? Certainly not, objecting the pack on his own was nothing less than suicide...but coming back to the Reign empty handed, now what would happen then? Would he be penalized, or would his pack rise with him against this Akiiki Chibale? All of this he would discover in a few moments time.
The small creature stirred beside his sister, realizing she was awake beside him as her voice slipped open. Instinct told him to keep quiet. Regardless, the urge to answer her with a simple statement started to creep forward and it was only by the presence of his mother did he keep his mouth shut. His brother's comment seemed to sum up his questions. What was going on? As his mother picked him up by the scruff, his thin tail curled between his legs and laying limp, he contemplated asking his mother for more information.

The tiny pink female yawned and looked at her mother as she lifted up Davii and her back became instantly cold from the lack of being beside her. Quickly she scrambled to her tiny paws and re-situated herself closer towards her mother's warmed, larger frame and into her soft sweet smelling fur.
"But what is going on mama? Is something wrong with Tempy and Vee? The pack?" concern filling her teal eyes just as a long yawn sprang to her maw and all her itty bitty tiny fangs were displayed for a moment before the pink head shook it out.
Crunch's eyes didn't move from the stranger until he felt Alas's soft touch and the sound of her paws moving on back to the den. Crunch would wait until the last of his pack was in the den, before turning his back upon the male. An attack upon anyone in this family would be foolish for a solitary wolf, but Crunch was just being the alpha and guardian of those whose lives where in his hands before hearing all but Twix go in.
He pressed himself slightly to his sister's side in a gesture of gratitude towards her, and in good graces knew her mind was feeling with the same thoughts his currently were.
Inside the den, and seeing Alas in the far back with their three small pups, he looked towards each members face, "What would you say we should give this 'pack' for tribute. We're too small to hold off two enemies, and I will not give them what we have to have to survive..."
Gracia was the second one in the den after Alas. She took to sitting somewhere between where Crunch and the pack would gather and where Alas was laying with Frey, Concordia, and Davii.
As Crunch began to speak, she simply blurted out and interrupted, "I could off to clean out the dens, I'm sure those wolves don't do a very good upkeep."
Mahli moved into the den, following his father and sister, making sure to stay between the stranger and Moranna, before taking his seat next to his father and turning his head to listen to Crunch talk.
