The day was warm, and waves were rippling along the shoreline. As each crash of a new wave came, a lovely ocean breeze was sent along the shoreline of the sands. The skies above were a lovely blue speckled by puffy white clouds that drifted along that lovely wind. Beautiful grains of white sand littered across the earth and to the distance of about fifty feet was a row of trees that dare not to approach any closer. Generally speaking, despite the warmth that rained down on the beach front, the waters that moved in a constant flow with the wind was freezing cold and that was just how the marine life below the surface liked it! Martika had come strolling along the trees that stood as the border onto the beach. The rainbow audio had never really been to the beach before and once again had been forced out by her caretaker. This time though she didn't mind as much since she had met some nice audio previously who were all kind to her. This gave her a confidence that she would be okay and the nice beautiful day had helped to coax her out as well.
Slowly, the brightly colored audio stepped forward from the trees and when her feet touched the sands, she giggled a little and wiggled her toes. The sand felt different then soil! Tail waving with excitement she took off running in the sand towards the ocean, jingling from her silver bell all the way. She stopped just a few feet short of the lovely greenish blue waters and sat down in the warm sand, enjoying the feel of it between her toes and her fingers as she ran her hands into the grains.

 "WAAAAA-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" A voice cried out from the waves crashing down on the sea. A ring-tailed lemur by design was surfing on a makeshift surf board made out of driftwood. Maybe it was a bad idea, but maybe it was a good idea. Who could be the judge? In Cheveyo's mind, his motto was "As long as it works, I'm goooood." This boy was all about adventures and getting a blast out of life. Screw all of the risks that may be involved! He was all about the thrill!
Soon enough, the boy was heading out for another wave. But, this time he didn't expect the size of the next wave. He tried riding down it, but his makeshift surf board couldn't handle it and broke apart. The audio totally wiped out and eventually washed up on shore with a blissful look on his face, not noticing the colorful audio there.

Ears picked up immediately on the voice of what sounded like a male having lots of fun! Purple eyes turning up from the sand she had come to love, Martika watched in amazement a very interestingly colored audio riding around on what looked to be a piece of wood. What was he up to? She kept her stare glued to him as he moved along the waves.
Finally, when the wood had broken and he was washed up onto the shore, Martika rose. The rainbow audio walked over and looked down at his face. He seemed happy enough and this made her smile to see him so happy even though that wood was broken and he was on the shore again. "Hiya." She greeted. "What were you doing just now?" Her tail swayed behind her with curiosity ringing from her voice and her eyes.

Cheveyo glanced up and grinned a wide grin. He got up from the continuous waves crashing into the shore and sat up. "Hey there." He said with a smooth grin. "I was surfin'." He said smoothly. "Like what you see?" He said, moving to stand up. Sand was plastered onto his back and a lot of his body. He didn't seem to mind. His fur was wet and matted, but he didn't seem to mind that either. "Did you want to try it?" He asked curiously, keeping the same grin on his face.

When he sat up Martika came look at him curiously and smiled at him. "Surfing huh?" She beamed. "Looked like lots of fun." She couldn't help but to laugh lightly as she noticed all the sand in his fur. At his question, she looked really excited. "Oh wow really? But.." Her smile slipped away. "I don't know how to surf. And your piece of wood got broken." She was kind of hoping this audio wouldn't mind small set backs but this was the test to see how he would handle such obstacles.

Cheveyo just nodded. "It is a lot of fun." He said with a grin, his tail wagging behind him. His ears twitched, hearing her laughter and looked to her with a handsome smirk. "Now what are you laughing about, missy?" He blinked. "Oh, that's no problem. I could teach you." He said before laughing. "That's no problem either!" He said estatically. "We can build another one!" He said. The male audio stood in the water a for a bit, letting the cool water crash against the back of his calves before slowly stepping out. "Shall we?" He motioned to the beach, where a lot of driftwood washed up on shore.

Martika held back another laugh as she walked over to him and brushed his back and pulled her hand around to show him the sand that desperately wanted to stay attached to his back. "You got yourself a nice little sand cape there." She smiled before brushing off her hands free from it.
Hearing he would teach her she became even more excited. So this audio didn't let things get in his way! That was good. "Really? You'll teach me???" Her tail was wagging with her excitement. "Thank you!" She blinked at little when he said it wouldn't be a problem without the wood and even looked at him even more curiously. "Build one? Now I have to see how we are going to do this!"
She gave a nod to his final question and started heading in the direction he had motioned to. "I'm Martika. What do I call you?" It was a little obvious from the way she worded her questions that she wasn't very socialized.

Cheveyo curiously peeked behind him, hearing her laugh again. His deep blue eyes watched her carefully, seeing that her hands were brushing off the sand off his fur. He just grinned widely. "Obviously they're attracted to me." He said, adding a little wink at the end. "Thanks though." He said, laughing a bit. "It'll wash off once I get back into the water." He nodded.
The ring-tailed lemur mimick of an audio just smiled. "Of course, as long as you'll go all out! It's all or nothing." He said with a wide grin, moving his hands to rest on his head. "Of course." He said, acknowledging her thankfulness. "Didn't you see my last board? It was built too. I don't see how hard it will be to find another perfect board." He said with a laugh.
His tail twitched, looking at the driftwood piles. He tried to spy for perfect boards. Hearing her speak again, he looked over to her. "Oh, Martika?" He smiled. "It's very, very nice to meet you." He said playfully. "You can call me whatever you want. Lucky Star, Cheveyo, Lemur Boy." He shrugged. "I'm all open for nicknames." He grinned.

"Well, you just have such a magnetic personality I guess that makes sense." She smiled. This audio was lots of fun. She then looked at the water curiously. "Won't that make the water a little dirty getting sand in it?" It was now painfully obvious she didn't get out much.
Martika turned her attention back to the lemur as if standing at attention. "Yes Sir!" She smiled brightly. "What kind of first try would it be at surfing if I didn't try my hardest?" Eyes blinking a little she thought back some. To her, it just looked like some wood but apparently she missed something. However, despite her confusion, hearing his laugh just put a smile back on her face. Ah well, some things in life she wouldn't ever know.
"All open huh?" She smiled brightly and walked over to the pile of driftwood he was looking at and watched him carefully to see what he would pick out. "Does that mean I can call you Chevy?" Her tail was swaying. She wasn't bored! These trips outside were proving to be well worth while if all the audios were this much fun!

Cheveyo just grinned and nodded. "Of course it makes sense." He said, wagging his tail behind him. The ring-tailed lemur audio just looked at Martika humourously. "No. It w-won't." He tried to say, as his voice faultered, he started to laugh. "The sand just floats to the bottom." He said, trying to suppress his laughter.
The audio male quirked a brow at her, hearing her say 'Yes Sir!' He didn't like that too much. He wasn't some bogus drill sergant. His charming grin faultered, hearing it. The boy just shrugged. "I don't know. Some kids might freak and want out, you know?" He said and looked at her with a playful glare. "I better not see you flakin' out on me."
He nodded. "Yeah, you heard me right!" He said. "All open to any nickname." He said, still resting his hands on his head. The lemur moved over to the driftwood, pulling some away to take a look at pieces underneath crap driftwood. His ears twitched, hearing a nickname. "Chevy?" He laughed. "Sure, it's not bad. I like it!" He said with a bright grin.

Martika blinked a little at his voice. She didn't seem to understand what was going on. Hearing his explanation, she looked at the ocean. "You mean there's sand under all that water?" Purple eyes lit up and she seemed even more excited to go in and give this surfing thing a try.
The girl looked over up at the lemur audio with such an innocent stare. "Flake out?" She then beamed with a smile. "Never! This looks like way too much fun to do such a thing!" Though, in all honesty, she had no idea what 'flaking out' meant but she wasn't about to let that one slip out.
A smile was on her lips even brighter hearing that he liked his nickname. "Chevy it is then! So, Chevy, what kind of wood are we looking for?" She turned her attentions back towards the gifts brought in from the ocean. She had been searching for something and had no idea what. Not very useful thing.

Cheveyo tried his best to hold back his laughter. He bit his lower lip, trying to calm himself down before he tried saying anything again. "Yes.. What do you think holds all that water? It can't just be a bottomless pit of water." The lemur said in a strained voice.
The lemur just nodded his head. "Yeah, you know? Decide they don't want to do it last minute?" He said with a shrug. The audio just grinned. "That's what I like to hear!" Cheveyo laughed, punching one of his paws up in excitement.
He nodded his head. "Yeah! Well, what we want to look for is a long, flat piece that's a bit taller than me and a bit wider than you. If we can find one in one piece, then it's perfect!" He said with a brilliant grin to Martika. The lemur audio continued shuffling through the wood in hopes to find the perfect board.

"Well it does kinda look a little endless from here." Martika smiled up at him though she still didn't understand he was fighting back laughter. Seeing him punch the air, the rainbow audio laughed. "Well I'm glad you're so excited to teach me!" She gave a nod and began holding up random bits of wood for his inspection. One was too short but wide. Another was tall enough but narrow. Although she was trying, the rainbow didn't seem very good at scavenging. "Chevy, how many surfing students have you had?"

Cheveyo blinked. "It can only go so far, since there's other land out there." He nodded. "And, it can only go so deep because there's all that lava and stuff in the earth." He said, kind of confused why she didn't know this. Hell, if he knew all this stuff, she should too. The boy just offered the girl a kind smile. "Of course. I just hope you'll catch on quick!" The lemur grinned, finding mostly full logs, and tried to find board-y pieces. His ears twitched, catching her last question. As he was searching, he didn't know whether to answer truthfully or make it up. His tail twitched. "A couple few." He said, vaguely.

Purple eyes grew wide and she looked up at him in amazement and her gaze grew adoring. "Can we go to this other land out there by surfing if I learn fast enough?" Her tail was wagging excitedly. She really didn't know much but she was learning.
Martika looked at the ocean again. "I think I can swim in those waters if they are anything like the waters in the lake by my home. As long as I can swim if I fall off, I'll learn as fast as I can!" The rainbow looked back over at the Lemur male. "That's a promise, Chevy!" She smiled.
"Did all your former students flake out?" Whatever that meant. She assumed that it meant they didn't stick with it since he wasn't surrounded by audios. She moved aside one large log after trying for several minutes to get it to budge. Under it was one of the long boards he had described earlier. She held it out to him. "How's this?" It wasn't perfect but it was the closest thing she was going to find.
