The story begins we each of us waking up with odd newfound powers. A meteor has just hit and a strange gas has filled the destroyed city. You have not yet realized that vampires and zombies are among you and you are steadily discovering your powers. It is your choice whether you have some or all of them at once. If you decide you want one power to evolve or devolve into another let me know, that's totally plausable given the genetic component of the gas. Begin your post by telling me where you are, I will then tell you what's going on around you.

Kaci wakes up to a blinding pain in her torso, her jaw aches and she feels a longing for something she can't quite place. Looking around she is shocked to see buildings on fire and the sky littered with dust. Though it's deeply overcast with residue from the meteor crash she can tell it's dawn and feels a deep irrational fear overcome her. She get's up and seeks cover.

Elliot crawls out from under the rusted shell of a car druing a lightning storm, his father's machete and a shot gun are right beside him but he is completly naked adn parts of his hair are burnt off, he can't remember what happend. He grabs the machete and the gun and crawls out from under the car. He looks around for Kaci, but a burning remnant of the capitol is all he finds

Jon see's that the building has become like an island sticking out in a sea that is flooded new york. It's early morning.
Elliot notices the storm wearing off and the sun rising.

Kaci finds the remnants of a downtown apt and slips in just before the sun comes up. However through a crack in the ceiling light hits her shoulder and the flesh begins to burn, she screams and finds a completely darkened corner.
"What the ******** is going on here" she says aloud
"I see I'm not alone" a voice replies

demAntlers Can I see anything in the distance? Yes, you see others on various surrounding rooftops and dead bodies floating in the water. Also, upon closer inspection, you see something humanoid moving beneath the surface of the water.

I jump into the water foolishly and start to swim faster and faster while my back, arms, and knees start to become engulfed in pain.

Elliot breaks the window of a nearby vintage clothing chop and puts on a tie-dye T-shirt, a tan leater tunic and some flared bell bottoms, he also attatches a guitar strap to his machete and straps it to his back, he then checks the shot gun to see if it is loaded, it has two shells.

Kaci turns her head toward the voice as it continues, "I can't stand it either, I don't know what wrong with me."
Kaci notices he has clear blue eyes that reflect light, similar to a cat's and elongated teeth. Curious she runs her tongue along her mouth to find an answer to the aching in her jaw.

Jon notices spikes erupting along the pain targeted areas of his bodie. A creature underneath the water comes to the surface. She has pale skin and entirely black eyes (no whites all pupil) her fingers are webbed and parts of her have scales. Her teeth are sharpened into points. She speaks,"Things have happened to the people, I am not how I used to be and neither are you," she brings him to a floating bit of rubble that he climbs up on. "Be careful" she says and sinks back beneath the waves.

Discoking090 Elliot grabs a blanket from off of a dead homeless man and tackles the burning woman trying to put out the flames The woman is shaking, "It just keeps happening, the fire comes back, but it doesn't hurt." She starts to cry, in response to the emotion she reignites. Elliot get's burnt on his forarms and watches in amazement as his arms instantly begin to heal. The woman is weaping in flames.
