Penske is a ridiculous man who doesn't understand his team is falling behind.

Ryan Newman has made a verbal agreement to drive for SHR in the #39 Chevy. Sponsorship is yet to be announced for the car. It may take up to a month to finalize the contract. This decision was made when JGR was unable to "nail down" sponsorship for a fourth team starting in 09.

Well I think Newman wanted a crack at the number 5 or even the number 16. But when those deals got sewed up , he really only has a few options left...

Queen Melethia Dagon Yeah....Besides the Daytona 500 has Penske Racing won a race is year? Kurt Busch won Loudon only out of fuel mileage. everyone did pretty muck know this, but he want to go to Gibbs, but Gibbs couldn't find a sponsor for 09.

Plus Gibbs has Wonder bread in the bank aswell so adding another car to that team after its captain is leaving would be unadvisable...I'll be honest though Newman won't win next year... Tony may win stare

SHR will do better than everyone is thinking, all they ever needed were winning drivers, now they got them. I think both drivers can win next year.

A year and a half a go I would've agreed with you. When Green and Sauter where there they both had top 10's and Sauter a top 5! But ever since those two were given the boot, and Old man Mayfield got in the 70 ride... they have drmatically fallen off. Even Bootie now says he is looking at a constant gloomy situation. But then again maybe a couple of dollars from Stewart would help the organization. But the tone of the season could be battled against A.J. If the 84 knocks out the 66 (which I predict could happen) and Riggs doesn't get back in... this could hinder them for a bit in the beginnig of the season. Luckily for them Penske, Gibbs, and Rcr have all said a no to their 4th team next year. And with qual starting to melow out this year... the only true battle will be on Newman to make it at Daytona... a track where even he can't set a hot lap at...

I don't know if people realize the fact that Haas is the richest owner in NASCAR. He started a company in the early 80's and is a billionaire. Hence why they have the shaker-jig and the full scale wind tunnel. Also, their facility is 140,000 sq ft. That is HUGE.

i never heard anything about RCR scratching their 4th team, actually treux is looking like he may be a fourth driver, which i very well could see. I don't see qualifying being much of an issue for newman.....come on, it's newman, when has he ever needed any provisionals? besides maybe this year.

First Haas has plenty of money. They pretty much told everybody that when they got those penalties. Second, I though RCR was making their fourth car next year. Dont they have the General Mill ssponsorship from Petty? ANd what happened between Aj and Scott Riggs. And thats kinda sad that Newman sucks at Daytona yet managed to win the Daytona 500
