Zanthiriel's eyes flicked left and right as he sat at his place in the large hexagonal table. His place was more of a throne than a chair. He had let each of the members of The Council, as he called it, design their own sitting space. His throne was lavish with silver, ebony and ruby red cushions. He sat with one leg crossed over the other, leaning his right elbow on the arm of the chair and his head in his hand. His eyes may have been flicking but there was nothing apparent that he was looking at. It was clear he was gazing at something only he could see. At the moment he was taking a glimpse of all of the information he needed for the day. E-mails, proposals, the status of the ship and their location. Even a few non-vital things like galaxy affairs that related little to him and his horoscope. He had arrived at the Notably Un-Round Table early just so he could spend some time doing his daily tasks. Interfacing with the ship at this level was easy. He didn't have to focus to hard and the information didn't overwhelm him. It was a very relaxing state actually. He felt connected to the net and to the ship.

Sora arrived next. He saw that Z was in a trance and didn't bother proclaiming his presence and annoyance at being awoken this early. It wasn't early for most but Sora had been up all night working on his latest projects. He had gotten less than four hours of sleep and he was in no mood to make decisions. He sat down in his comfortable desk chair with a plunk and lay his head on the desk as he waited for the others to arrive.

Then came Blake. He nodded at Z, who didn't notice, and Sora, who didn't care. He had gotten a good nights rest and even if he hadn't he would have been ready. He made a point to seem impenetrable around the other council members. Except Z of course. Z could read him like a book. Blake could returnt he favor of course. He sat in his sturdy wooden chair and began to glance through the papers on the table in front of him.

Sara was the fourth in the room. Her voice echoed through the room at her entry. Sora looked up but quickly sighed and returned to his napping as he saw that Sara was talking on her phone. Had Z held this meeting later she would have postponed her call but as it was but the morning for the crew of the ship she had no choice but to finish up before the meeting started. She appeared to be talking to one of her horde of sources about some happening in some corner of the galaxy. She took a seat in her black and white couch chair.Sshe would have chosen something more formal as her personal seat but dammit, the chair was so damn comfortable and it was simply more practical to be happy while making important decisions.

Next into the room were the twins. Risa was clearly having trouble getting Grito to understand the punchline of a joke. This was of course useless as it was commonly known the Grito lacked a sense of humor. Risa sighed and made her way to her pink barstool and stared idly up at Z, waiting for the meeting to start.

Grito, having not gotten his sisters joke, sighed and turned his face back to the book he had been reading. No one int he room new what he was reading but they all new all the characters probably died in the end. He took a seat at his dramatic black and blue leather chair. It was the kind of chair one would sit in by the fire place. With a robe and writing an epic poem with a quail feather and the blood of an unspeakable source.

As soon as Grito's butt touched the chair, Z's eyes focused rather suddenly. "Now that we are all here we shall start the meeting." He said, leaning back and crossing one leg over the other. He brushed his hand through his hair but everyone who knew him could tell he was lowering the power of his Sync Enhancer. "One of Sara's informants," He said with a slight nod in the red heads direction. "Has informed her, and then me, of a rather large event. The Conquistador has lost contact with the Terran military. They aren't sure what happened and they are about to send a small fleet of ships to get to the bottom of this." He said with a smirk as he leaned in as if he was going to tell a secret. "But we have a head start. We are significantly closer to 'Centuria' than any ship they could send out. If we were to leave now we could get there before them and get the story out before they can make anything classified." He said, his grin turning slightly more excited but maintained. "So, as per percedure, lets vote. State your opinions." Z said leaning back in his chair and looking over at Blake who always spoke first.

Blake thought for about thirty seconds before speaking. "Opposed." He decided, which surprised Z very little. "This is to dangerous. We don't know what happened to The Conquistador and I refuse to let it happen to us. Even if they are fine, the military won't be happy with us stepping on their toes and publicizing the truth." He said calmly. Blake was the most cautious of the group. It made sense. He was the oldest and this ship was his to protect, as was Z. In addition he simply had nothing to gain. He was the only one who had no role in the media aspect of the Spotlight.

Z nodded in response to Blakes answer and put a check int he no section on his mental tally. Next up was Sara. Sara didn't even pause when Z looked at him. "For. Finding out what happened over Centuria would be the best breaking news we have had in months. We will be the only station with this story. As head of the news sector it is my duty to ensure that I get someone on the scene." She said calmly as she stared down at the papers in front of her. This was another obvious choice in Z's mind. There is no way Sara would ever refuse to go.

When Sara stopped talking Z turned his head to Sora who's head was still laying on the desk. He didn't bother asking him to speak. He knew that the man was thinking it through. Even with his goofy exterior the man never went into something without considering his options. After about a minute he spoke/ His voice was mumbled a bit by the table but the room made his voice echo loud enough for everyone to hear. "For. There are probably some interesting stories to be had from the crew if they are alive. I could use some more drama reality shows. 'After the Incident: The story of a crew member of the conquistador.' Oh yeah. We are so going." He said his voice rather enthused. Z nodded.

Next up would be either Risa or Grito. They often switched orders based on the passion of their decisions. "Against." Risa said, causing everyone to turn their heads to her. "There is simply no comedic value in this." She said with a sigh as she leaned on her elbow. "This is quite clearly a tragedy and that is so not my problem." She said leaning back and looking away from Z. The dark skinned man sighed. She obviously did care but was determined to try not to.

And then there was one. With two for and two against, Grito would be the tiebreaker. Z smirked to himself. Most people would be nervous or embarrassed being put on the spot like this. Not Grito. He lived for this. THe drama, all eyes on him, the power. They were like putty in his hand. Had Grito been feeling more theatrical, and he usually was, he would have ventured a maniacal laugh followed by a monologue. But no, it was early in the morning and while Grito reveled in the power and drama he did not abuse it despite his desire to. He simply sat and thought for a moment, obviously thinking it over very hard. After a minute of quite staring and waiting he spoke. "For. There could be great artistic value in seeing what transpired over Centuria." He said simply and turned to Z.

Z smiled and leaned back in his chair. Three for going and three against. He had a chance to veto and side with Blake and Risa but he didn't. He had no real feelings either way and while Risa and Blake were two of his closest friends he refused to be biased while in command of this ship. "Well that settles it. We are off to Centuria." He said with a rather Manic smirk as he stood up from his throne. "Blake, to your stations. Department heads, give your subordinates the news and prepare anything you might need." He said looking at each of them in turn. Blake and Risa looked a bit put off but not disrespectful. Sara and Grito were calm, ready to follow orders. Sora was clearly ecstatic that he had gotten his way. "This could be dangerous. But more importantly it could be fun." Z said with a laugh as they all filed out of the room.

Sleep was odd for Z. Because of the power of his connection with his ship and the net it was almost impossible for him to just let go of reality and drift off into fantasy land. When he wanted to sleep he usually just lowered the level of his connection to it's minimum and popped whatever it was that his doctor kept prescribing him. That usually worked. Today was odd though. He hadn't meant to fall asleep. He just had. He was still connected to the net, which was odd. It was like he was connected to the world but not. And it felt fantastic. With that thought, he was ripped from his ecstasy by a loud beeping in his room. He shot out of his desk chair, where he had apprantly dozed off, in fury and slammed open the door of his room. This was difficult to do as it was electronic. "WHAT." He said, anger seething out of every pore. "What's up your butt? I was just wondering if you wanted to go down to the outpost with me. We are stopping for fuel and this may be our last chance to have fun for a while." Risa said innocently. " . . . Fine. Let me get ready." Z said trying to keep from mauling the girl.

Z walked back through his own door and it slid closed behind him. "What to wear?" He mumbled to himself. They would surely be drinking. He had never been to this particular Sister outpost and so he had no idea what kind of establishments they would have. Based on it's distance from Earth, Z would assume it would be around the middle between up-tight and sleazy. He flicked his tongue against his inner cheek as he thought. Something simple would do. With trained quickness, he changed into a simple black long sleeved shirt and baggy black pants. He added a gold and onyx necklace, gold earings and his favorite black and white sneakers. He tied his air back in a red hairtie and he was ready to go. He stepped out of the room and passed Risa without a word. "Let's go." He muttered and they made their way towards the Storage bay.

Zanthiriel fiddled with his hair a bit as they maneuvered the ship. As soon as he moved from a mirror it stopped being the way he liked it. Risa kept silent as she walked behind him. After a series of elevators, walkways and old-fashioned stairs, they reached the docking bay. By the time they got there his private shuttle was already prepared and ready for takeoff. His assistants, more like keepers, were fast. He and Risa boarded and got into the limo-like lounger in the back. Within minutes they had taken off and were flying into the abyss. From the outside he could see the spotlight hooked up to various tubes that were refilling it. On the other end of the tubes was Oncesis IT was rather beaten up but not truly damaged in any way. It was guarded well against pirates and asteroids or anything else that may happen to attack it. They were careening closer and closer to it's docking bay.
