Tanabata Sasa no ha sara-sara (笹の葉 さらさら) The bamboo leaves rustle, rustle, Nokiba ni yureru (軒端にゆれる ) shaking away in the eaves. Ohoshi-sama kira-kira (お星様 キラキラ) The stars go twinkle, twinkle; Kin Gin sunago (金銀砂ご ) Gold and silver grains of sand.
Good evening to all! (Or mayhaps good morning!) Either way this coming week we will be celebrating the traditional Japanese festival of Tanabata. This day (technically the 7th) represents one of the luckiest days of the year when two lucky stars cross each other perfectly.
And thus to bless the host club for the rest of the summer, we will be hosting a Tanabata Gathering in the Ouran Garden from Monday to Friday. In the main forum you will see our wishing tree thread where you can make a wish that may be granted! And finally we ask you all wear traditional Japanese clothing (kimonos etc.)
((EDIT: We will also be hosting an art contest! See the thread for more info!))
Finally use this thread for any questions, comments, or concerns!

So... (this sounds like such a stupid question ><) it's a celebration of the stars? What do they do on this holiday?

Wasn't Tanabata last week? I don't mean to complain, but it seems a little weird to be celebrating a holiday after the fact.

Actually Camille, the Wiki article says it's held in July and August, depending on one's location. So we can still celebrate. Some festivals are held from August 6 to August 8.
And actually those would be the perfect dates to hold in. We could end it on 8-8-08. That would be quite special.
