Does anyone else love Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass as much as I do? They're two of my favorite books. Has anyone read the sequel by Jeff Noon called Automated Alice?

I've been toying with the idea of reading Automated Alice...how is it? Is it good? =o

I don't think it's as good as the original two, but it's not bad.

I'll try to check it out, then. I heard it's a steampunk story, and I quite like steampunk stories.

I'm quite obsessed with everything & anything Alice In Wonderland. My boyfriend gets a kick out of it (especially since he works for Disney). I love The Looking Glass Wars Series. Quite full of blood & gore. No one can say no to blood, gore, & an evil Cheshire Cat...

I've been meaning to read The Looking Glass Wars forever, but always ended up choosing another book for some reason.

It's a good series. Very different. The onlly thing that I somewhat dislike about it is it's a good size novel that covers a fairly short timespan, especially the second book Seeing Red.

I like the Looking Glass Wars series, too. It's a light read - fun, creative and bloody. It's well worth trying, though I would have liked more balance to it. Lots and lots of action, a little lacking in the rest.
I have a collection of Alice in Wonderland books with different illustrators. I'm slightly obsessed. My name in real life is Alice, and my mother introduced them to me at a very young age, so I kind of identified with them in a odd way.

I simply adore the Alice in Wonderland series!!! I've re-read it about 7 times now, my favorite part is the Mad Tea Party. *reads posts* The Looking Glass War series sounds like a great series. Blood... Gore.... An insane cat.... What's not to like?

Kitschy Have you seen the illustrations by Salvadaor Dali? I hadn't, I went and looked them up - I love Salvador Dali. They're amazing, thank you for pointing them out. I went looking for a copy, but, wow, they are incredibly expensive. Abebooks, the online used bookstore I often go to, had just one copy listed for US$ 17,907. Oh well, they're still pretty to look at online.

Salvador Dali's my favorite artist. 3nodding I was so disappointed when I couldn't find a copy with his illustrations for a somewhat reasonable price...

Ah, I am such a Carroll obsessive. I've been researching him for a while, digging up proof that he wasn't a the-only-censored-word-on-Gaia.
I utterly adore Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The Disney version irks me, as it really doesn't (in my opinion) capture the spirit of the books, but that is quite difficult to do. There's a black and white live-action film of it which I quite look forward to seeing once we can dig it up from our drawers.
At the risk of exposing myself as a disturbing obsessive, I am in fact writing and drawing (it is in manga/graphic novel format) a 'sequel' of sorts, centreing around her elder sister Lorina's dive into Wonderland after Alice goes in a third time and gets lost. It gets rather... odd... at times, but that's what I'm here for.
I adore the Hatter. And the White Knight is darling as well. And the Mock Turtle especially-- everyone forgets him, and he's wonderful! Him and the Gryphon.
