 It's a beautiful morning, Felix thought to himself as a cool spring breeze blew by, ruffling his orange fur. Newly feathered fledglings tested out their wings for the very first time, swooping through the air. The sun's warm rays shined upon the entire valley and it's inhabitants. Inhaling a blue daffodil's sweet scent, Felix sighed with pleasure. Life couldn't get any better.

 Sofiel flapped her wings in the warm sun. It was her favorite pastime, flying. She swooped and soared until she spotted a male namir on the ground. Sofiel loved meeting namir and decided to fly down and meet him. She swooped down and landed a few feet away and hoped she didn't startle him. "Hi, I'm Sofiel!"

Felix looked up, startled, as Sofiel suddenly greeted him. Quickly recovering from his surprise, he replied. "Hello, Sofiel. My name is Felix." He looked at her curiously, since he had never seen an angelic namir before. "May I ask what flying feels like?"

"It's nice to meet you, Felix." She smiled and stretched her wings out and then let then lay against her back. "It's the best feeling in the world. The warm air rushes past her face and body when you go fast, but I like to float. It's almost like swimming." She wasn't sure if that was the best way to describe it.

"Nice to meet you too, Sofiel." Felix cocked his head at Sofiel's description. "That sounds fun," he decided. "I'd love to try, but I have no wings," he continued, a little saddened. "But no worries! I'm find with how I am."

"It is very fun, but there are other things than flying." She didn't want to make him sad, but then he didn't sound sad at all. Sofiel smiled, "That's a good thing. What do you do for fun? Maybe we can do it together?" It was always nice to do learn fun things that weren't flying.

Felix nodded gratefully, and thought for a moment. "Would you...would you like to take a walk with me?" he asked, blushing a little. He didn't usually talk to girls, so he wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing. "I mean, if you don't want to, it's ok."

Sofeil smiled softly, "Sure, that sounds nice." She liked to walk and fly, both were fine things to do on such a nice day. "Anywhere in particular you want to go?"

"I don't really know," Felix confessed. "I hardly go around the island, so I have no idea where to go." He looked down at his feet, unsure of what to do. "Do you have anywhere in mind?" he asked.

"Well, why don't we just walk and see what there is to see?" Sofiel smilied and looked around. "We may just find something nice, you never know." She stood up and waited to see where he wanted to go.

Felix took a deep breath in, then exhaled. He then sniffed the air, searching for a direction. "Well, I think we should head over to the east where the river is," he said shyly. "I can smell sunshine and warmth there, with a lot of wildlife mixed in. It seems like a nice place."

"You can smell all that? That's cool." She smiled happily and nodded, "Then east it shall be." She loved nice things like sunshine and wildlife and Felix seemed like really nice company to share those nice things with.

"It is?" Felix wondered as they walked along. "I thought all namir had great senses of smell." He rubbed his nose, looking at Sofiel out of the corner of his eye. He had just met her, but she seemed like an old friend already.

"Yeah. I have better eyesight than I do sense of smell." She didn't know why that was true but it was. She figured it was because she could fly, maybe? Sofeil walked next to Felix with a dance in her step. He was really nice and nice to tlak to.

Felix nodded at her reasoning. Not only pretty, Sofiel was pretty smart too. "We're nearly there," he told her as they neared the peaceful clearing. The small river gurgled merrily and slim silver fish swam by in schools. The fresh air refreshed Felix, and he set off running with Sofiel close behind.
