 His spotted legs carried him along the water, his eyes looking out towards the horizon. The blue water would blend with the sky if it weren't so dark blue. Apple's silver eyes then moved towards where he was walking, all he saw was sand, golden sand. His spotted ears flicked towards the sound of the waves that were splashing water everywhere. The water reached out and licked his hooves then moved away then came towards his hooves and licked them again.
The sand under him rolled away as he stepped. His long tail dragged behind him and gathered sand as he walked along. Quietly, he sighed and let his thoughts run free. It was sometimes good to be alone, let your mind clear itself, but it wasn't good to be alone all the time. The water licking his ankles now snapped him out of his thoughts and he looked around.

Kipenzi smiled as her hooves brought her forward once more. She smiled because she knew where this little journey was going to end. The beach. Oh, how she loves the beach! The relaxing lull of the waves, the cool touch of the crystal clear water, the scurrying fish who never seemed to get where they were going. It was all so wonderful. Of course, this was only the second time she had been to the beach. Back in the Savannah there was nothing like it. But here? She liked it here. The beach, new friends, it was all so great.

Apple let his eyes wander around towards the horizon. The slowly moved closer to him and followed a small wave as it disappeared when it met the sandy beach. The spotted stallion sank deeper in the sand when the water met his hooves and made the sand darker. His grey ears flicked about as he thought for a moment. Today was the perfect day to be by the beach and just clear one's mind.

The beach and ocean came into sight as Kipenzi trotted on. Her hooves grew heavy as she came to a stop in the beginning of warm sand. She had been traveling for a while now, and stopping on the beach, one of her favorite places, was a nice way to end it all. She smiled as her front hooves hit the sand, a warm feeling enveloping her body. She loved it here.

His ears flicked back towards where the mare was when he heard something, but since he didn't hear anything else he decided it was just the wind. Slowly, he inched his way closer and closer to the water, letting the water roll up onto his ankles. Little by little, the water rolled up his leg and reached his knees. It felt good to have the water cool him down a little.

Kipenzi's ears swiveled right, then left. She had heard splashing water, which, yes, was normal at the beach but the water had seemed sort of disturbed, as if something, other than the current, was causing the splashing motion. She swung her head about wildly, suddenly excited at the thought of a possibly new friend. When she spotted nothing out of the ordinary, she continued on down the sand, her hooves finally hitting the ocean. Sea spray hit her directly in the face and a cold wind blew up upon her, causing a shiver to run down her spine. Why did she love the beach so much? It sometimes caused trouble, like chilled body temperature and sticky sand on your hooves, but it was so serene that she couldn't give it up.

The breeze only made the day better. His ears flicked around as he thought he heard another around. Only his imagination, right? Apple's eyes gazed around slowly to see if there was anyone else out and about. Enjoying a nice day at the beach by themselves or with another. It seemed to only be one, but he wasn't too sure. Apple noticed a mare out of the corner of one of his silver eyes. Slowly, his head turned and he looked towards the mainly brown mare. She had a braided mane and tail, unlike Apple's long mane and tail. He decided to strike up a conversation with her, she looked friendly by what Apple saw. "Hello there."

Kipenzi heard more slight splashing, and the gentle clatter of hooves. So, she wasn't surprised when Apple turned up. "Hello," she said, smiling warmly. She looked him up and down, studying his features carefully. His mane and tail were long, flowing gracefully in the slight wind. The whole of him was gray and dappled, except for two large patterns on his hip and one side, as well as up his neck. On his neck ran a marking that looked similar to that of a tree branch with a few leaves dangling off of it. On his side was a marking that looked like a blooming white flower. And finally, on his hip were large splotches, perfectly round in colors varying from red to green. Around his neck hung a dream catcher, two feathers hanging down from it. She grinned at him. He looked nice.
