By the sounds of the ungraceful crashing, a young elephant must have been approaching. Ah, but no. This was the uncharacteristic noise of a large lion with an ego problem. It was Bowser, the King of... Well, let's not admit what he wasn't really king of. Not while he's so close.
A low growl came from him---not at anything specifically, really, and it stopped when he saw the lioness near him. There was a pause, then he came closer, stopping near enough that she couldn't pretend to not notice him, but not so close that she would necessarily feel her personal space invaded.
"What is your purpose?" Was the demand that came next.

Sad to say. Life had grown rather boring for this flying complexed lioness. She had her routine for everyday, but by now she didn't even enjoy it. Huff. She had thought routine's were suppose to make you feel safe and secure, but...nope. There was no way she felt safe and secure in this boring never ending cycle of....boringness? Yeah, that sounded about right. "If only....." Yes, if only....she could fly. If only she could break away from this routine. If only....Gekko Go jumped suddenly as a rather obnoxious crash flowed through her ears. It sounded like her when she fell to the ground after a failed flight. The water in the lake she sat next to, shook and rippled with the vibrations. It was quite amusing. Then, there was a rather odd male. She'd seen odd before, but he was really odd. Like....annoying...ly odd. "My purpose? My purpose, I suppose, is to fly? To live? Or if you mean right now, my purpose is to break free of my bounds."

Bowser looked the girl up and down with a frown, "Are you a Koopa or a Mushroomite?" He demanded, then puffed as he sat, his chest out with pride and a self-confidence that could only be described as arrogance.
"I too wish to be free of my bounds. To become the borderless!" He looked at her again, "It is the only way to live." Was that a challenge in his voice, or a gruff way of trying to give advice?

Koopa? Mushroomite? Gekko Go arched a brow at these odd sounding names. She had never heard of such things. Maybe this guy was new, then again....She hadn't been out much. He could have been here for months and she would have never noticed."I suppose I'm neither. I'm Gekko Go, the plane of Holland Novak, or...." Her voice flatered for a second, before she continued,"I use to be. I'm a lion now." Her ears laid back against his head as she listened to him speak once more. He seemed like some arrogant jerk. She'd have to watch out for him."You seem to want to be freed from a different type of bound. You wish to have no boundaries in land, I figure. I, myself, wish to be able to live life however I want to. Though I could be wrong. Am I?"

Bowser made a face as he thought about that. He was either very careful about his words or took a long time to process hers and come up with his own.
"Who says I want boundaries only on land?" He demanded in a booming voice, "Some of my best Koopas fly, and some swim." Then his voice dropped and he spoked slower, "Ah, and what difference is there in your want in mine? Same thing, I think." Was it a philosophical statement or just the inability to see the fine details? Mmm...
He stopped sitting so straight through that though, now slumped again, but he still tossed his head now like he was somebody, "Join me. One day we will live as we wish! I will find a cloud for you to be a plane on."
Why not? Some of the Koopas...whether they were real or imaginary or from a past life....liked to hang out in clouds. Planes liked to hang out in clouds. He'd get a follower and she'd get a cloud when he could call one down. It sounded like a fair deal to him.

Gekko Go watched him closely, making sure to process every word he said. She wouldn't want to accidently anger him, and he really didn't look like a very nice guy. Then again, she shouldn't be judging by appearances, and now she was getting completely off-track. Shaking her head, she lifted her goggle-covered eyes before she answered him. "I guess that is true. Our goals are very similar, but you want both and I only one want. Though I suppose it is a detail that can be left untouched if the moment calls for it. Anyway, I have something to ask you....What are Koopas? I've never heard of such an animal before." True. That had been bothering her since he first mentioned them, and her curious side was starting to kick in. Though she was completely caught off-guard at his next statement. Did he mean it? Would he allow her to be a plane again? "Do you mean that, sir? Would you be able to turn me back into a plane?" Her eyes lit up behind her orange tinted goggles as she inched closer to him.

"What are Koopas?" Bowser asked, his voice lowered into a rumble of surprise, and then of annoyance. He looked up at the sky, then around him, then frowned, "They were...they are...my most loyal followers." His face scrunched up as if he'd tasted something bitter, "Until they destroyed them, and me. But it's only a temporary thing!" He tossed his head, all blustered. Arrogance for a moment had given away to concerned nostalgia, before the pride that hide his fear returned.
He breathed heavily on that statement for a moment before Gekko's final questions made their way back to his memory. He frowned, "I have turned things into creatures, but never a creature into a thing." He turned his head to look at the mountain, "But I would try!" It sounded like a terrific challenge, and---Ah, he could think of some good uses for changing creatures into things.
Why hadn't he thought of that long ago to freeze his enemies?

Koopas...most loyal followers. Yeah, that didn't quite clear it up for Gekko. Though since it seemed to upset him, she decided not to push him any further. Though what he said next surely caught her attention right off the bat."Who were they? Why did they do such a horrible thing?" She questioned, pinning her ears back against her head in deep thought.
"So...basically what you are saying is that you don't know for sure if you can turn me into a plane?" Gekko Go snorted softly. No promise, huh? But....at least....he was willing to try for her. That was nice enough she guessed. Raising her head, the lioness smiled."I thank you....I don't think I know your name yet. I'm Gekko Go if you have any interest."

Bowser made a sound somewhere between an indignant snuff and a... regretful?... sigh, "They were jealous the princess favored me more than him. They destroyed my glorious kingdom-pride for envy! I was King Bowser, lord of the Koopa Kingdom. I am just...Bowser now." Ears flattened at the admission. He lowered his head almost to the ground.
But then flashed back upwards, eyes defiant and posture determined, "Gekko, if there is a way to turn you into a plane, I will find it out, and you will be returned to your former glory, just as I shall!!"

Gekko Go was appalled. Who would do such a thing, and to such a innocent lion? She hated them, in spite of herself, for doing this to Bowser. Surely, jealousy was one of the worst reasons for revenge. The lioness gave a soft sigh and stepped closer to the dejected lion before her. "Don't worry, King Bowser! If you are willing to help me turn back into a plane, then I am willing to help you rule Koopa Kingdom again. I promise I will help you, no matter what." Gekko exclaimed happily as she lifted her head high; her goggles falling over her eyes when she did so. "Then I guess we have a partnership?"

Bowser puffed his chest a little, still giving off the appearance of pure arrogance, but this time it was clear that it was done fully for appreciation of the other lion. "I am forever grateful, Gekko! When I have the ability to do so again, I shall concentrate all my powers in returning the favor."
He looked around, "But first we need fuel. Are there even other animals in these parts? It seems I can never find any."
It was a day of humiliating admissions---but Bowser was *hungry* and he just... didn't possess the good graces to ever actually succeed in getting anything fitting to eat. Everything heard him come from half a mile away, so the odd question of whether or not there was food around was perfectly sound for him. It all ran away long before he could ever hope to see it!

Gekko watched Bowser through her orange-tinted goggles, trying to hide her amusement. He did look awfully funny with his chest puffed out like that, but yet his words inspired a new hope in the lioness. "I thank you, I really do!" She bowed her head multiple times in rapid fire success, making it seem like she was trying to pluck worms out of the ground like a bird. Not that she knew she was doing that, or she'd be outright embarassed. She didn't /want/ to appear like an idiot infront of Bowser; she just couldn't help it. Stopping abruptly when he spoke again, Gekko Go lifted her head and gave one last nod. "Yes! Don't worry, I will find us a healthy supply of food. There is much to be eaten around here." She lifted up a paw, and attempted to fix her goggles. She would never be able to hunt with these covering her eyes, they were for flying purposes only. "What are you in the mood for? Zebra? Rabbit? Fish?"

Bowser tilted his head, watching her. His nose flared up as he let out a large breath of air through it in amusement, but he approved. Yes, yes she would certainly do. She understood his wonderful, majestic greatness. She herself was an outcast that would understand. Yes, what a great lioness and great first koopling to come across!
He was certain he could turn her into a plane again. She already held both the uniform and the manners of a flying creature, why would he be stopped from such a thing?
His eyes lit up at Gekko Go's suggestion that just about anything was around, unconsciously licking his nose at the mere thought of---anything edible. How did one rightly put that without sounding too eager?
"I have the appetite of a dragon, Koopling Gekko Go, anything you like is acceptable this day."
