 Yeah, just a few things from my sketchbook. I'm working more on realism (minus the first picture). The hand looks kinda wonky to me, but I'm just starting out with actually drawing them, so that's to be expected... I think. >_>; These new word-bubble things are so much fun. biggrin

The hand does look like it's a little under the weather.
Here is possibly the most important bit of advice I can offer about hands:
If it would be uncomfortable to do it, don't draw the hand that way. (The exceptions to this may be obvious, such as "the character is doing something uncomfortable with his or her hand".)
By this I mean, most artists, when they are amateurs (all of us, heh), do this dumb thing with their fingers where they are bent in the most uncomfortable way possible, at the wrong joints. Consider that. Make sure the fingers are always bending at the "comfortable" joints.

While I was drawing that, I was just resting my hand on the table, quite comfortably, so maybe it just ended up looking awkward in the end, even though it was comfortable. Ah well. I'll work on it.

i myself like to draw hands in action. Grasping, pointing, gesturing...whatever pose is comfortable enough to hold for a drawing. It seems more interesting and more useful for me to do it that way. The Iconoclast By this I mean, most artists, when they are amateurs (all of us, heh), do this dumb thing with their fingers where they are bent in the most uncomfortable way possible, at the wrong joints. Consider that. Make sure the fingers are always bending at the "comfortable" joints. my fingers dont bend except for at the comfortable joints. I was blessed with double joints or a hitchhikers thumb or anything special. I cant even wear those stiff bracelets because my hands don't collapse enough for them to fit crying

The eye looks really good! Only thing i'd suggest would be maybe making the lines on the lower lid softer? Unless it's make-up or something, the lines would be more blended in...am i making sense? sweatdrop I'm not that good at this, but your pictures are really nice. 3nodding
